St Clare’s graded ‘OUTSTANDING’ in every area during recent inspection

In June we welcomed 2 inspectors from Salford Diocese to inspect the RE provision of our school.

They were delighted to report that St Clare’s was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in every Category—a stunning result for all members of our school community!

Some of the headlines from the report were: St Clare’s is an outstanding Catholic Primary school. All who enter the school are immediately struck by the wonderfully warm and friendly welcome given to all.

Every child is provided with a Catholic education in a caring and supportive environment, where individual needs are exceptionally well catered for.

High quality relationships between staff, parents and children are central to the school living out its mission as a Catholic community.

The inspirational Headteacher, senior leadership team and staff ensure that there is outstanding Catholic leadership.

The bespoke welfare provision for every individual is absolutely outstanding. All members of the school community are prepared to go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that children are treated with dignity and respect.

This is a school where every child really does matter.

Year of Mercy ’Holy Door’ visits St. Clare’s Pope Francis has declared this year as a special year of mercy for all Catholics.

As a way of sharing this special theme, the Bishop of Salford has blessed a ‘Holy Door’ which will visit every parish within the diocese. The door arrived at St Clare’s with great excitement. A whole school assembly and prayer service was held and every child within our school had the opportunity to walk through the door of mercy.

Pupils were able to write down their own special intentions and prayer wishes which were collected and placed in our school chapel. Well done to all pupils and staff involved in making this such a memorable and spiritual occasion.

‘Animal magic’ as wild creatures appear in EYFS

Pupils in the Early years were treated to a very special experience recently as part of their topic on animals and mini-beasts.

The children were able to investigate and handle creatures such as snakes, spiders and lizards. Great fun was had by all.

Niall wins national art award Congratulations go to one of our talented infant pupils, Niall, who recently won a national colouring competition. His design beat thousands of others to win a £150 cheque for the school and a gift voucher for himself. We are sure this is only the first of many amazing designs Niall!

Pupils ’go for gold’ in school sports days The summer sports days are always one of the highlights of the school year. After a run of very wet days this year, the decision was taken to arrange the activities on the newly refurbished infant playground. This proved to be the perfect venue to showcase the sporting talent of our amazing pupils. Each team worked together to collect points and earn the title of the champion team. This year saw the widest range of activities yet with new and exciting equipment for the children to compete with. Thank you to the staff for arranging such high quality days and to parents/carers for the wonderful vocal encouragement.

Year 6 finish term in style Year 6 had a busy end of term with their SATs examinations, a wonderful week away at Condover Hall, a very colourful production of ‘Pirates of the Curry-bean’ and a red-carpet leavers party. We are delighted you have been such a fantastic Year 6. We are very proud of your achievements and we know you will do really well in your new high schools.

Musical Performance hits the right note Pupils from Year 3 to Y6 took part in an end of year musical performance watched by the junior children.

Both beginner and experienced groups had a chance to show their talents in the hall and all were rewarded with generous applause. Well done to all who took part.

End of term celebrations at Summer fun day Once again, St Clare’s pupils enjoyed a brilliant fun day to mark the end of another successful school year. With weeks of careful planning by Ms Sylvester, a wide range of events and activities ensured there was laughter and good humour all round.

Inflatable slides, trampolines, fairground rides, children’s entertainers, punch and judy shows and an entire big top with circus skills took over the school for the day. Many thanks to those who made a donation to help provide such a good experience for the children.
