Loren Allred is best known for her jaw-dropping vocal performance of the RIAA multi-platinum song Never Enough from the Oscar nominated and Grammy award winning “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack and film. Being the voice in the film and not the actress, Loren was mostly an industry secret until April 2022 when she appeared on Britain's Got Talent performing Never Enough and receiving a coveted Golden Buzzer. The story of finally connecting her face to song, launched her into the semi-finals and finals of the competition. Loren’s three performances earned rave reviews from judges Amanda Holden (“Astonishing”), Simon Cowell ("Iconic"), Alisha Dixon (“Transcendent”) and David Williams (“Superstar”). She performed her new single Last Thing I’ll Ever Need making her television debut as a songwriter. She became a viral sensation in the United States on NBC’s America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League for her powerhouse vocals that blew away the judges, the crowd and millions on the internet.
Prior to her recent emergence, Loren dueted with Michael Bublé on his 2019 Love album for the classic Help Me Make it Through the Night. She appeared alongside chart-topping songwriter, producer, and maestro to the stars, David Foster, as part of his “An Intimate Evening PBS Concert Special” and album in November 2019.
This project is supported by the Utah Arts Council, with funding from the State of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
In 2021 and 2022, Loren began to release original music via her EP Late Bloomer. Singles Til I Found You and This Summer received positive reviews, and Loren also toured her new music, and appeared on tours with Andrea Bocelli and David Foster through 2022. Her powerful new EP I Hear Your Voice was released on April 6, 2023. Recently, Loren was featured on the PBS special “A Capitol Fourth” on July 4, 2024 where she sang her incredible cover of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Learn more at www.lorenallred.com.
Loren Allred has “the most beautiful voice and control.” - Michael Bublé, Grammy Award Winning Artist “Loren Allred’s incandescent performance of Never Enough will sweep you up.” - Variety “Her live version brings Never Enough to the Next Level.” - Just Jared "Loren blows the roof off the place." - Hollywood Life
Over the past several summers, the Utah Valley Symphony has performed with several incredible guest artists as part of SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre’s season, including Broadway stars Jeremy Jordan, Megan Hilty, and Laura Osnes; Canadian singer/songer and newest member of The Tenors Mark Masri; and Utah favorites Kurt Bestor, Jenny Oaks Baker and Jon Schmidt. Utah Valley Symphony was organized in 1959 as a non-profit organization. Its purpose was to give talented local musicians an opportunity to use their talents and to provide the community with symphony music. It began as the Central Utah Community Orchestra and was then changed to the Utah Valley Symphony. The first orchestra had 30 members, and the first concert had an audience of eleven people, most of them relatives of the performers. In the following two years it grew to a full-sized orchestra using 75 to 80 members, depending upon the needs for a particular concert. The audience has increased to the point where two performances are
required for each concert. In the fall, UVS provides school concerts to introduce students to the experience of a live symphonic performance.
The Utah Valley Symphony has the full spectrum of ages - from college age to retiree age. The average age of symphony members is approximately 45 years old. These excellent musicians have varied backgrounds: music educators, private teachers, performance major graduates, and excellent musicians that love to play. UVS rehearses every Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30pm at the Provo Seventh Day Adventist Church. Auditions are held every September and December. You can find more information at www.utahvalleysymphony.org.
Conductors for the symphony have served in the following order over the last 65 years: James Mason and Jacob Bos, Dr. Harold Goodman, Dr. Lawrence Sardoni, Dr. Glenn Williams, Dr. Ralph G. Laycock and Dr. Clyn D. Barrus.
In the Spring of 1998, Bryce Rytting was engaged as the current conductor of the Utah Valley Symphony. In 2022, he was made a Conductor Emeritus, and in the Fall of 2022, Blanka Bednarz joined the symphony as an Associate Conductor.
(Associate Conductor) Violinist, violist and conductor Blanka Bednarz received DMA and MM in violin performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston and BM from the University of Kansas. She is an alumna of the J. Kaliszewska Talent School in Poznan, Poland. She studied with Eric Rosenblith, Ben Sayevich, James Dunham, and participated in master classes and chamber music studies with members of the Borromeo, Cavani quartets, James Buswell, Patricia Zander. As soloist, Bednarz performed with the Changsha Symphony, the Connecticut Virtuosi, Symphony and Chamber orchestras of the New England Conservatory, Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta Polonia, UVU Symphony and Chamber Orchestra and others. In 2007-2008 she was first violinist of the Vega String Quartet-In-Residence at Emory University in Atlanta, GA (“marvelous foursome” - Strad).
A partnership with the James & Andrea Clarke Family will allow us to make continued improvements to SCERA Center for the Arts – the first was a complete repainting of the outside of our unique historic venue! The Clarke Grand Theatre is clean, comfortable and elegant – and with a giant 40' x 20' screen, 733 seats and incredible digital projection and sound – our presentation of your favorite feature films is the best around! And, with the best ticket and concession prices in town, we hope you'll support your local independent theatre, where proceeds go back into the community to support SCERA's charitable non-profit artistic mission!
She collaborated with artists such as Barry Snyder, John Novacek, Rita Sloan, Monte Belknap, Simon Gollo, Stephanie Chase, Richard Stoltzman, artists of the Beethoven Festival Park City, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Alarm Will Sound, Baltimore, Utah and Changsha Symphonies. She performs in the USA, UK, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, China, Finland, Lithuania, at venues such as Jordan Hall, Miller Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, Philadelphia Ethical Society, Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, Aula UAM, etc. She can be heard on Capstone Records, Acte Prealable and Musica Omnia. Her Szymanowski CD (2017) was awarded Silver Medal in Global Music Awards and honorable mention in American Prize.
Previously she taught at Emory University, Dickinson College, Gifted School of Music and NEC Preparatory Division. Currently, she is faculty at the University of Utah where she teaches violin and string chamber music.
Bednarz studied conducting with Richard Hoenich and Frank Battisti, also observed classes with Jorma Panula at Royal Stockholm Conservatory. As concertmaster in conductorless settings Bednarz led a number of ensembles: NEC Chamber Orchestra (which she co-coached with Donald Palma), Dickinson Orchestra, Changsha Symphony, UVU Chamber Orchestra and many others.
Bednarz assisted with conducting of ballets Alice in Wonderland and Snow Queen (music by Gabriel Kaczmarek, productions at Poznan Grand Opera Theater and Opera Nova, Bydgoszcz) with Sinfonietta Polonia and conducted Sinfonietta Polonia in New Year concerts at venues such as the renowned Aula UAM in Poznan, on tour of Greater Poland area and in Cinecitta Studios in Rome, Italy.
