2018 Conference The 2018 SCAA Annual Conference hosted a number of opportunities for information exchange, learning, recognition, and celebration. Celebrations and recognitions were highlighted with Paul Werts receiving the Order of the Palmetto from Governor Henry McMaster. The awards don’t come much more significant than that! The association recognized and thanked board members Andy Busbee, Greg Hall and Joe Barkevich for their years of service as board members and committee chairs. All three had board terms that were expiring. The association was also able to re-present one of the FAA’s most prestigious awards, the Wright Brothers’ Master Pilot award which recognizes individuals who have exhibited professionalism, skill, and aviation expertise for at least 50 years while piloting aircraft as “Master Pilots” to SCAA member, board member, and volunteer leader, Leo Berube.
