Saving Sight offers a variety of tissue processing services to meet the needs of our surgical and research partners. We follow the most rigorous standards to ensure tissue meets the specific guidelines needed for transplant. All tissue is stored, processed and distributed according to the FDA, Good Tissue Practices 21 CFR 1271, and EBAA medical standards. Researcher Gary Peh, Singapore Eye Research Institute Saving Sight has partnered with Dr. Peh since 2016 to distribute tissues for his research endeavors. The main scope of the Singapore Eye Research Institute’s research involves the isolation and propagation of human corneal endothelial cells in order to better understand cellular biology. Ultimately, the knowledge gained through the research will be applied towards the development of a tissue-engineered corneal endothelial graft material for the treatment of corneal blindness. 16
