HANS MARLEY Sembilan Matahari consists of artists from crossed-disciplines and backgrounds. The spirit of collaboration becomes the essence to all of Sembilan Matahariâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s works. We chatted with CEO and creative head Adi Panuntun hereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s what transpired.

1, Can you tell us bit more about your self? where do you come from? and where do you live? My name is Hans, 29 yo. i was born in Tasikmalaya, a small city in west of java and i live in Jakarta now, since 1995 2.What led you to a career in photography? do you have formal training in your background? It started when i was about 18 or 19 to collect some pictures from tumblr, then i decided to learn how to make photo. i got some classes from my univ. i think thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; s the formal training that iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve got as my background. 3, Could you name some of the photographers that have inspired you and helped to shape your approach to photography? I think it would be a lot of photographers but if i should to mention some names, Peter Lindbergh will be on the top of my list! i like Alasdair Mclellan, Dmitry Chapala, and Baev Maxim also. 4, What would we find in your camera bag for a typical assignment in studio or on location? hmm, you can find my canon 6d, 35mm sigma lense, 50mm 1.4 lense (just in case), external flash, laptop, and my harddisk. 5, What is your approach to lighting? do you prefer artificial or available light? I prefer available light, for me it takes me to another dimension haha i really more satisfy if i achieve something with natural lights. 6, How would you describe your aesthetic? I always try to see something poetic, feeling and chemistry. Not seeing my model as an objects, but as a human being.

7, How do you keep yourself inspired? As we lives in the social media era, it always important to be more open for what is happening with it. But dont get lost, when youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve gone too far. its all about a balance. 8, If not photography what would you be doing with your time? Well, maybe i wish i could be a footballer player and earn a lot of money even i will be just on the bench haha i dont know, i dont even think about it. 9, What has been the best advice given to you by another photographer? Being the man behind the camera is not just need a technicality good, but how good your taste, how good you to see something, and finding the equilibrium between the objects, moods, and chemistry. 10, Any advice for aspiring photographers? Just keep doing what you like, the ideas in your mind, consistent is the key. But always remember life is about balance :) 11,Your dream collaboration? Collaboration between me, Kate Moss and YSL ! ahahha 12, what are you working on next? Take every chances in front of me, wisely! Follow his work @hansmarley
