“ At EY we look for top performers and innovators, and we are proud of our differences and all they bring to our firm and our clients. In the summer of 2023 we hired two data scientists from the UBC Sauder programs who joined brimming with intellectual curiosity, knowledge of markets, and eager to dive in to any collaborative work or volunteering opportunity available. UBC prepared them with foundational knowledge, technical skills, and a positivity toward teaming and joining that will continue to serve them well at EY and among our Consulting data practice. ”

Connection with business communities

Employers significantly shape our students’ career paths. Our employer relations team actively bridges the gap between our students and the business world. We connect MBAN students with hundreds of potential employers, from global industry leaders like Deloitte Consulting to innovative local companies like Aritzia. Many of these potential employers are also UBC Sauder’s own alumni.

We facilitate company recruiting sessions, hiring, and networking events throughout the program. Additionally, we bring companies such as TD to teach technical courses, providing ample opportunity to connect with their teams. We posted over 1,100 internship and full-time job opportunities for the MBAN Class of 2023 spanning diverse industries and roles. While we provide these opportunities, it’s up to you to act. Interpreting our employment and internship data

Accreditation

UBC Sauder proudly holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a globally recognized body that provides specialized accreditation for business and accounting programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. This accreditation is a testament to the quality and rigour of our programs and is considered the gold standard in business education worldwide.

Reporting standards

The Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre (BCC) is a member of the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance (MBA CSEA). The MBA CSEA has set guidelines for reporting employment, salary, and other related statistics, which are recognized as the standard for sharing this information with external ranking organizations and the MBA CSEA itself. The data presented in this report has been collected and interpreted in accordance with the MBA CSEA Specialty Masters Reporting Standards (2017).

Salary statistics

When considering salary compensation, it’s important to look beyond the average and consider the median (mid-point) and range. These additional data points offer a more comprehensive view of salary distribution among the class. It’s worth noting that the average can be skewed by a small number of students receiving either very high or very low salary offers. For consistency and ease of comparison, all salaries are reported in Canadian dollars, with foreign salaries converted using the prevailing exchange rate.
