Quick reminder SGLT2 inhibitors - Dapaglifolzin, Canaglifloxzin, Empagliflozin, Ertualiflozoncan be associated with a risk of raised ketones without an increase in blood glucose levels. This can result in euglycaemic DKA.
Top tips:
• Discontinue SGLT2 inhibitors for anyone who is acutely unwell / septic or dehydrated whilst they are in hospital
• Don't assume it's not ketoacidosis if blood sugars are normal. Check ketones and monitor them until patient is well
