Issue 3

Welcome to the third edition of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme newsletter. It’s great to see so many colleagues now getting involved in our EPR Programme and making themselves aware of the digital changes ahead as a consequence of our move away from SemaHelix to CareFlow. Thank you to all our Change Agents who have managed to attend one of the recent Change Agent onboarding sessions, your enthusiasm and support is hugely appreciated. To any colleagues still interested in enrolling on our Change Agent programme, it is never too late – please visit our Digital SaTH website for more information as to how you can get involved and support your local team in getting ready for CareFlow Go Live. Our fantastic Change Agents and EPR team are here to help if you need it. Any questions, ideas and suggestions, please let us know via sath.askepr@nhs.net, so we can get you the support you need.

What's changing in April These systems are going to be switched off and replaced as part of the digital transformation.

How do I know what training modules to complete? Your training modules should be visible to you when you log on to LMS. You can also view our What CareFlow Means to Me page on https://digital.sath.nhs.uk/ which lists job roles and what training modules to complete. If you’re still unsure, please email the team on sath.ittrainingteam@nhs.net. If your role is not listed and you use SemaHelix then it may be that you’re in a “view only” group, which is broken down into modules; Inpatient, Outpatient, ED, MPI or “all”. This will apply to those who have roles such as Operations Managers. We recommend you still complete the Master Patient Index training to support your understanding of CareFlow.

https://digital.sath.nhs.uk/ Meet the Digital Nurse Specialists Asha Nair and Aravind Bhaskaran have joined the Digital Team as Digital Nurse Specialists. They will be supporting Change Agents and colleagues across wards and departments to complete training and improve our readiness for the CareFlow implementation. They will be ensuring clinical areas are able to access the information and support colleagues using the new systems. In addition, they will provide valuable feedback to the digital team from clinical colleagues supporting risk reduction and helping to optimise our systems to support safe and effective patient care.

Aravind Bhaskaran, Digital Nurse Specialist

Asha has an extensive nursing background with additional experience as a Practice Education Facilitator. Aravind comes from an outpatients and acute nursing background, but also has experience working on digital systems. They are both very excited to be working with colleagues across the organisation to make a success of our digital transformation journey. Please welcome them into your clinical areas and make use of their expertise.

Do you know how CareFlow will impact you? It’s really important that you know how the CareFlow changes will impact you and your role. We’ve created a page on our Digital Website that shows What CareFlow Means to Me. Please take the time to read through this. If you’d like to know more, please contact your local Change Agent or email us at sath.askepr@nhs.net

Change Agent - Laura Laura Speed, Operations Administrations Manager in the Therapy Centre. Laura recently joined SaTH and immediately signed up to become a Change Agent. In Laura’s previous job, she had been using CareFlow for five years. Laura said: “It seemed like a natural step for me to become a Change Agent, I have previous knowledge of CareFlow and I am looking forward to helping colleagues navigate this new system. It can be daunting when these changes happen, but personally I have found CareFlow to be easy to use.” If you’re a Change Agent and need any more information or support, email sath.askepr@nhs.net.
