Improve Your English Now! English for Second Language Speakers (ESOL) Do you speak little to no English and need to learn functional English to live and work in the USA? If so, you can begin learning the language by enrolling in Adult Education ESOL classes. You will learn everyday English so you can improve your future employment and educational opportunities. ESOL can also help you prepare for the citizenship exam or General Educational Development (GED).

Step 1:
Inquire by filling out the short intake form at sfcollege.edu/esol.
Step 2:
Once registration opens, schedule your registration session where staff will help you complete the SF application and other registration requirements including payment of the $30 student fee.
Step 3:
Schedule and then take the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) placement test at your set appointment time.
Step 4:
Staff will register you for the correct level of ESOL based on your CASAS scores. Check your eSantaFe account for your class schedule.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Do you already speak some basic English? Then EAP is the best option for you to perfect your English in order to pursue a college degree or obtain a better paying job.
Step 1:
Apply for admission at Santa Fe College at sfcollege.edu/admissions.
Step 2:
After filling out the SF application, log into eSantafe and complete the My Status steps. To show Florida residency, use your parents’ information if you are dependent. If you are independent, use your own information.
Step 3:
Go to the Assessment Center in G-025 to take the Accuplacer ESL placement test. Depending on your scores, you may be asked to write a brief essay in English for evaluation.
Step 4:
Once your scores have been evaluated, see Bill Stephenson in P-152, or Marina Jordan in S-313, for assistance with enrolling in EAP courses.
