Ecco la Collection 2020 di Glance Garda &More, dove poter viaggiare attraverso le nostre pagine per raggiungere e vivere luoghi, ampliandone la percezione, allargandone i confini, arricchendone l’esperienza, sempre seguendo l’eleganza stilistica e la sensibilità nella comunicazione di Glance. Nata nel 2017 da un’idea delle due co-fondatrici Sandra Paoli e Francesca Girardi con l’obiettivo di congiungere idealmente le tre regioni che cingono il Lago di Garda – Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto e Lombardia e non solo – Glance è stata pioniera nell’aprire nuovi dialoghi e nuove visioni di territorialità, ancor prima della nomina ufficiale delle Olimpiadi 2026. Siamo fiere di presentare questa terza edizione che rappresenta per noi e per chi ci ha dato fiducia uno step importante all’insegna della coerenza e della vision innovativa e strategica, grazie anche a un team coeso e preparato. I
due territori, a breve distanza l’uno dall’altro, regalano panorami e paesaggi a cui si accompagnano eccellenze gastronomiche nate dal perfetto equilibrio tra sapori locali e voglia di innovazione. Iniziamo dal Garda Trentino il cui nome si accompagna all’olio extra vergine d’oliva che qui la fa da padrone. Certificato nel 1998 con la Denominazione di Origine Protetta, l’olio oggi è rinomato per essere prodotto fin oltre il 46° parallelo, la latitudine più a Nord nel mondo e nel 2011 a tutela e sviluppa dell’olivicoltura è nata l’ “Accademia dell’Olivo e dell’Olio”. Un autentico gusto è racchiuso nella Carne Salada. La magra e saporita carne ottenuta dalla fesa di manzo è tra i piatti principali dell’Alto Garda. Le origini di questa pietanza risalgono al 1400 e la lavorazione segue uno speciale procedimento che dura da un minimo di 2 settimane fino a un mese circa e che prevede, dopo il passaggio in un composto di sale grosso, alloro, pepe nero in grani, bacche di ginepro, aglio e poco rosmarino, la disposizione e la pressatura in un recipiente di terracotta o vetro affinché fuoriesca l’acqua e venga favorita l’assimilazione degli aromi. Nel 2015 il legame della Carne Salada con il territorio viene riconosciuto grazie alla certificazione De.Co, Denominazione di Origine Comunale. Spostandosi dal lago in direzione di Madonna di Campiglio e delle Dolomiti di Brenta il viaggio tra antiche tradi-

zioni prosegue con la storica “Rendena”, razza autoctona, da secoli cardine dell’attività zootecnica e agricola dell’omonima valle, oggi valorizzata dall’Anare (Associazione nazionale Allevatori bovini di razza Rendena). Anche Presidio Slow Food, è un’importante testimonianza di un recupero del sapere tradizionale custodito e tramandato, in particolare, dai piccoli produttori riuniti nell’Associazione “Valore Razza Rendena” che tutela e si fa portavoce dell’unicità di prodotti (formaggi e carni) appartenenti a quella piccola ma forte bovina che raggiunge i pascoli e le malghe più alte delle Dolomiti di Brenta e dell’Adamello-Presanella. Una innovativa modalità di promozione interessa poi il formaggio prodotto proprio dal latte della razza “Rendena”: attraverso la lettura del QRCode applicato sui formaggi delle tre aziende Slow Food, si ha la possibilità di ripercorrere, tramite il collegamento a una landing page dedicata, tutta la storia del prodotto caseario. Il gusto delle radici del Garda Trentino
Il Garda Trentino può contare su un’imprenditoria strettamente legata alle proprie radici da cui provengono prodotti, sapori e gusti. Come l’aroma dolce e delicato del Broccolo di Torbole, Presidio Slow Food: a nord del lago il forte vento evita la formazione di ghiaccio e brina mantenendo intatto il fiore della pianta che, così protetto, garantisce l’inconfondibile sapore. E inconfondibile

è la Susina, varietà di prugna unica al mondo e coltivata nella Valle della Sarca, mentre nella località di Drena si raccoglie una particolare castagna di media pezzatura, a cui si affiancano i marroni dal marchio De. Co. dei boschi di Campi, Nago e Tenno. Trota, coregone o lavarello, il raro carpione, l’alborella, le sarde, il luccio, la tinca, il persico, il vairone, il barbo… Sono solo alcune delle varietà di pesce che, sapientemente cucinate, portano alto il nome della cucina di lago di questa porzione di territorio. Da non dimenticare poi l’esclusivo Aceto Balsamico Trentino e la varietà di vini DOC, spumanti Trentodoc e distillati, prodotti della tradizione. Un esempio è il pregiato Vino Santo, Presidio Slow Food, il cui nome è strettamente legato alla sua lavorazione: l’uva Nosiola appassisce su speciali graticci di legno, detti “arele”, fino al momento della pigiatura che avviene durante la settimana Santa. Il succo ricavato viene poi fatto fermentare per almeno tre anni in botti di rovere, prima di essere degustato come ottimo vino da meditazione. “Re dei pesci d’alta quota”: così è riconosciuto il salmerino alpino, pesce dalla carne tenera, magra e asciutta, accompagnata da un delicato sapore e un aroma fragrante d’acqua dolce. Ha trovato il suo habitat naturale nelle fredde acque dolomitiche dove l’alta ossigenazione legata alla provenienza dei ghiacciai perenni, garantisce il ridotto contenuto di grassi. Questa specie ittica vanta una tradizione di lunga data e il Trentino è zona vocata alla produzione di pesci salmonidi provenienti sia dalla pesca sia dall’allevamento in vasca. Già ai tempi del Concilio di Trento, a metà del ‘500, il salmerino dei laghi trentini era molto apprezzato dal Cardinale Madruzzo e altro estimatore di questo pesce era l’imperatore Francesco Giuseppe, mentre La “Carta ittica del Trentino” del 1983 è stata la prima in Italia a regolamentare la coltivazione delle acque. Una tradizione giunta a noi grazie alla passione e al lavoro di aziende che lavorano il pesce seguendo antiche ricette che uniscono materie prime locali e arricchiscono il salmerino di note gustative uniche. La Val Rendena poi propone una cucina gourmet legata ai prodotti della terra e diviene una vera e propria esperienza gastronomica di alto livello che richiama il bosco, l’alpeggio, l’allevamento locale. L’unione di tradizione e stagionalità sprigiona sapori autentici come i salumi, i formaggi, la selvaggina e, nella vicina Valle del Chiese, il mais e la farina per la polenta.

ie beiden benachbarten Gebiete entzücken nicht nur mit Panoramen und Landschaftsbildern, sondern auch mit einer Gastronomie, in der sich lokale Spezialitäten und Innovation perfekt die Waage halten. Unsere Reise beginnt im Garda Trentino, das für sein hochwertiges Olivenöl bestens bekannt ist: Das Öl erhielt 1998 die geschützte Herkunftsbezeichnung und ist heute weitum bekannt – zum einen liegt das Anbaugebiet jenseits des 46. Breitengrades und ist damit das nördlichste der Welt, zum anderen wurde 2011 zum Schutz und Ausbau der Ölerzeugung die Accademia dell’Olivo e dell’Olio gegründet. Authentischen Geschmack bietet auch das Carne Salada: Dieses magere, geschmacksintensive Fleisch aus Rindernuss gilt als eines der Hauptgerichte des Alto Garda. Seine Ursprünge gehen bis ins Jahr 1400 zurück, und die Zubereitung dauert 2 bis 4 Wochen: Zuerst wird das Fleisch in grobes Salz, Lorbeer, schwarze Pfefferkörner, Wacholderbeeren, Knoblauch und etwas Rosmarin eingelegt und anschließend in ein Tongefäß gegeben und gepresst, damit das Wasser abgesondert und die Aromen aufgenommen werden. Im Jahr 2015 wurde die enge Verknüpfung des Carne Salada mit dem Gebiet Alto Garda durch die Herkunftszertifizierung De.Co. anerkannt. Vom Alto Garda aus geht die Fahrt weiter in Richtung Madonna di Campiglio und Brenta-Dolomiten. Hier stoßen wir auf die „Rendena“, eine traditionsreiche, jahrhundertealte Rinderrasse aus dem gleichnamigen Tal, für die es nunmehr einen eigenen nationalen Züchterverein gibt. Die kleinen, aber zähen Rinder weiden auf den höchstgelegenen Almen von Brenta-Dolomiten und Adamello-Presanella, und die Fleisch- und Milchprodukte der Rendena sind nicht nur ein fester Bestandteil des

reitung sich die lokale Cuisine einen Namen gemacht hat. Keinesfalls zu vernachlässigen sind außerdem der exklusive hiesige Balsamico-Essig und die breite Auswahl an traditionellen Weinen mit DOC-Herkunftsbezeichnung, Trentodoc-Schaumweinen und Destillaten. Ein hervorragendes Beispiel dafür ist der ebenfalls in Slow-FoodKreisen überaus beliebte Vino Santo, ein süßer Wein aus Nosiola-Trauben: Die Trauben trocknen auf Holzrosten („arele“) bis zur Pressung, die traditionell in der Karwoche erfolgt. Anschließend gärt der gewonnene Saft mindestens drei Jahre lang in Eichenfässern, bevor er als ausgezeichneter Meditationswein verkostet werden darf. DOLOMITI DI BRENTA: Bergsaibling – Gourmetküche mit Tradition
lokalen Slow-Food-Angebots, sondern gelten gleichzeitig als wichtiges Zeugnis für die Bewahrung und Förderung alten Wissens durch die Kleinbauern des Vereins „Valore Razza Rendena“. Eine besonders innovative Form der Werbung wurde für den Käse aus Rendena-Milch entwickelt: Durch das Einlesen des QR-Codes auf den Käselaiben der drei Slow-Food-Unternehmen gelangt man auf eine Landing Page, über die sich die gesamte Geschichte des Produkts nachverfolgen lässt. Der Urgeschmack des Garda Trentino
Das Unternehmertum des Garda Trentino legt großen Wert auf die eigenen Wurzeln und die Ursprünge seiner Erzeugnisse und Aromen. Der süß-zarte Broccolo di Torbole etwa ist ein fester Bestandteil des Slow-Food-Angebots: Durch die starken Winde nördlich des Sees bilden sich weder Eis noch Frost, und die „Blüte“ der Pflanze kann gut geschützt ihren einzigartigen Geschmack entwickeln. Im Sarcatal gedeiht die Susina, eine weltweit einzigartige Pflaumensorte, während die Ortschaft Drena für eine besondere Kastaniensorte mittlerer Größe bekannt ist, die sich neben den „Marroni“ mit Herkunftsbezeichnung aus den Wäldern von Campi, Nago und Tenno größter Beliebtheit erfreut. Forelle, Reinanke, Gardaseeforelle, Ukelei, Sarda, Hecht, Schleie, Barsch, Strömer oder Barbe sind nur einige der zahlreichen Fischarten, mit deren fachmännische Zube-
Der Bergsaibling mit seinem zarten, mageren Fleisch und seinem milden Süßwasseraroma gilt als König der alpinen Fischarten. Sein natürlicher Lebensraum ist das kalte, sauerstoffreiche Wasser aus den Gletschern der Dolomiten, das besonders geringen Fettgehalt gewährleistet. Die Fischart ist traditionell hier heimisch, und das Trentino ist seit jeher für die Verarbeitung von Lachsfischen aus der Fischerei oder Zucht bekannt: Bereits während des Trientner Konzils um die Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts war der Bergsaibling aus den Trentiner Seen sehr beliebt, etwa bei Kardinal Madruzzo, oder später bei Kaiser Franz Josef. Mit der „Carta ittica del Trentino“ wurde 1983 erstmals in Italien die Wasserbewirtschaftung reglementiert. Der Leidenschaft und dem Engagement der hiesigen Fischverarbeitungsunternehmen verdanken wir die Überlieferung traditioneller Rezepte, die dem Saibling durch Zugabe lokaler Rohstoffe einzigartige Aromen verleihen. Das Rendenatal ist für seine Gourmetküche mit lokalen Erzeugnissen aus Wald, Almwirtschaft und lokaler Zucht bekannt und bietet Gastronomie auf höchstem Niveau: Wurstwaren, Käsereiprodukte, Wild oder Mais und Polentamehl aus dem nahegelegenen Chiesatal bescheren durch die gekonnte Kombination von Tradition und saisonalen Produkten authentische Geschmackserlebnisse der Extraklasse. he two areas, not far from one another, offer panoramas and landscapes that are complemented by gastronomic treats, the result of a perfect balance between local flavours and a desire for innovation. Let us start with Garda Trentino, whose name goes hand in hand with the extra virgin olive oil that is such a speciality here. Awarded Protected Designation of Origin certification in 1998, this oil is now renowned for originating above the 46th parallel, the world’s most northerly production latitude; in 2011 the Academy of Olive Trees and Oil was founded with the aim of protecting and developing olive growing. A truly authentic taste is offered by Carne Salada. The lean, tasty meat obtained from the cut of rump is one of the principal dishes of the Upper Garda. Its origins date back to 1400; the meat undergoes a special process that lasts a minimum of two weeks and up to a month, and first involves rolling it in a mixture of coarse salt, bay leaves, black peppercorns, juniper berries, garlic and a little rosemary, then arranging and pressing the meat in an earthenware or glass container so that the water escapes and the aromas are absorbed. In 2015 the link between Carne Salada and the territory was recognised with its De.Co. (Designation of Communal Origin) certification. From the lake towards Madonna di Campiglio and the Brenta Dolomites, the journey continues between ancient traditions with the historic “Rendena”, a native breed of cattle that for centuries has been the main form of livestock and agricultural activity of the eponymous valley, today fostered by Anare (the National Association of Rendena Cattle Breeders).
The award of a Slow Food Presidio is an important reflection of the restoration of traditional knowledge, kept and handed down in particular by the small producers who make up the “Valore Razza Rendena”, an association that oversees and advocates for the unique products (cheeses and meats) from these small yet strong cows that graze on the pastures and by the higher huts of the Brenta and Adamello Dolomites. There is also now an innovative way to promote cheese from the milk of “Rendena” cattle: the QR Code that the three Slow Food-approved producers apply to the cheeses allows the consumer to trace the entire history of the dairy product via a link to a dedicated landing page. A taste of the roots of Garda Trentino
Garda Trentino can count on businesses that are closely linked to the roots that generate its products, flavours and tastes. One example is the sweet and delicate aroma of Torbole broccoli, a Slow Food Presidio: north of the lake the strong wind prevents ice and frost from forming while keeping the “flower” of the plant intact and protected, thus guaranteeing its unmistakable flavour. Equally unmistakable is the Susina, a unique variety of plum that is cultivated in the Sarca Valley; while in the vicinity of Drena a particular chestnut of medium size is harvested, as well as De.Co. chestnuts in the woods of Campi, Nago and Tenno. Trout, whitefish or lavaret, the rare lake carp, bleak, sardines, pike, tench, perch, vairone, barbel... These are just a few of the fishes that, expertly cooked, maintain the good name of the lake cuisine of this region. Nor should be forgotten the exclusive Trentino balsamic vinegar or the wide variety of DOC wines, Trentodoc sparkling wines and traditionally produced spirits. One example is the muchprized Vino Santo, also a Slow Food Presidio, whose name is closely related to its processing: the Nosiola grapes are left to wither on a special wooden trellis, the “arele”, until they are pressed during Holy Week. The juice is then fermented for at least three years in oak barrels before being savoured as an excellent wine for meditation. THE BRENTA DOLOMITES: the tradition of the ALPINE CHAR and a gourmet cuisine
The Alpine char, known as the “king of the mountain-dwelling fish”, has tender, lean and dry flesh, with a delicate flavour and a fragrant aroma of fresh water. Its natural habitat is the cold waters of the Dolomites, where the high oxygenation found in the perennial glacier waters ensures its reduced fat content. This species of
fish boasts a long tradition in the Trentino region, with salmonid fish produced both by fishing and breeding. Even at the time of the Council of Trent, in the middle of the 1500s, char from the lakes of Trentino were highly appreciated by Cardinal Madruzzo: another admirer was the Emperor Franz Joseph, while the 1983 “Trentino Fish Charter” was the first in Italy to regulate aquatic farming. The tradition has been handed down to us thanks to the passion and work of fish farmers, who process their catch following ancient recipes that use local raw materials and enhance the char with unique taste notes. The Rendena Valley thus offers visitors a form of gourmet cuisine derived from local produce, a truly outstanding gastronomic experience that reflects the area’s forests, pastures and livestock. The combination of tradition and seasonality generates authentic flavours such as cured meats, cheeses, game and, in the nearby Val del Chiese, maize and flour for polenta. m Ostufer des Gardasees an der Grenze zwischen Trentino und Venetien liegt Malcesine. Un progetto sociale ed economico i cui attori nel tempo hanno saputo compiere le scelte necessarie a conservarne l’essenza, sino a valorizzare la cultura, rendendola economia
E
ra il lontano 1878 quando Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, originario di Busto Arsizio, figlio di un tintore di fustagno e cotone, in un piccolo angolo d’Italia tra Bergamo e Milano, investì nel metodo industriale costruendo un cotonificio e divenendo protagonista del cambiamento. Un uomo capace di riflettere, progettare, credere e lottare che lanciò l’invito a seguirlo in un’avventura nuova, lontana da luoghi di origine e ogni certezza, ma che offriva garanzia di stabilità e sicurezza, con una casa e un lavoro. Le prime abitazioni erano costituite da palazzi a più piani e alla realtà della corte si sostituiva quella del pianerottolo. Si aggiunsero presto le villette per gli operai, adatte ad ospitare due o più famiglie; accanto all’eleganza e alla purezza delle forme, alle geometrie ripetute per creare armonia, si affiancava lo spazio di giardini e orti lasciati all’opera degli operai stessi, in un intreccio di bellezze ricevute in dono e bellezze che ognuno poteva realizzare da sé. La villa della famiglia Crespi testimonia la funzione di guida e di mediatore che prima Cristoforo
e poi il figlio Silvio scelsero per sé. Pian piano nacque la comunità con la chiesa (copia fedele del rinascimentale santuario bustocco per volere del fondatore), l’asilo, la scuola, il teatro, il campo da calcio e grande fu l’attenzione alla salute degli operai, con la presenza di un medico residente e un ospedale. Crespi d’Adda è l’esito di un progetto sociale ed economico, i cui attori nel tempo hanno saputo compiere le scelte necessarie a conservarne l’essenza e oggi rappresenta un concreto progetto che restituisce voce ai valori sedimentati rendendoli nuovamente protagonisti dell’economia: l’economia della cultura. L’Associazione Crespi d’Adda, al fine di evitare interventi che avrebbero modificato l’assetto urbanistico del villaggio, candida Crespi d’Adda a sito Unesco. Molti sono i sostenitori e il 5 dicembre 1995 il villaggio entra a far parte della lista dei beni tutelati in dignità di Patrimonio dell’Umanità, riconoscendone l’importante valore storico, sociale e ambientale di Crespi d’Adda. m fernen Jahr 1878 beschloss Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, der Spross einer Familie von Baumwollfabrikanten und Färbern aus Busto Arsizio, sein Geld in einem kleinen Flecken Erde zwischen Bergamo und Mailand zu investieren: Er errichtete dort eine Baumwollmanufaktur und wurde so zu einem der Protagnisten der industriellen Wende. Crespi war ein Visionär, der den Menschen neue Abenteuer fern ihrer Heimat, aber gleichzeitig Stabilität und Sicherheit, Unterbringung und Arbeit versprach. Die ersten Häuser waren mehrstöckige Gebäude, die den Hof als Mittelpunkt des Lebens ablösten. Hinzu kamen alsbald kleine Villen für die Arbeiter, in denen zwei oder mehr Familien Platz fanden. Elegante, reine Formen und harmonisch wiederholte geometrische Muster umrahmten Gärten und Beete, die nach Belieben bepflanzt werden durften: Die Anmut der neuen Umgebung fand so ihr Gegenstück in der Schönheit, die ihre Bewohner selbst gestalteten. Die Villa der Familie Crespi bezeugt die Führungs- und Vermittlungsfunktion, die Cristoforo und später sein Sohn Silvio innehatten. Allmählich entstand eine Gemeinschaft mit einer eigenen Kirche (auf Wunsch des Gründers eine Kopie der Renaissancekirche in Busto Arsizio), Kindergarten, Schule, Theater, Fußballplatz und – dies war ein Zeichen für den hohen Stellenwert der Gesundheit und des Wohlergehens der Arbeiter – einem Krankenhaus mit ortsansässigem Arzt. Crespi d’Adda ist das stolze Ergebnis eines sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Projekts, dessen Gründer im Laufe der Zeit die richtigen Entscheidungen getroffen haben, um den Charakter des Ortes zu bewahren: Heute ist es ein Vorzeigeort, der alte Werte hochleben lässt und sie zum Mittelpunkt seiner Existenzgrundlage – der Kulturwirtschaft – gemacht hat. Um Eingriffen in das Dorfbild vorzubeugen, beantragte der Verein Associazione Crespi d’Adda die Eintragung als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Das Vorhaben stieß auf großes Wohlwollen: Am 5. Dezember 1995 wurde der Antrag angenommen und damit der große Wert des Ortes für Geschichte, Gesellschaft und Umwelt offiziell anerkannt.

VILLAGE OF CRESPI D’ADDA A social and economic project whose protagonists have over time made the choices necessary to preserve its essence, enhancing its culture and transforming this into an economic asset
I
t was back in 1878 when Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a cotton dyer’s son from Busto Arsizio, invested in an industrial plant in a small Italian town between Bergamo and Milan, building a cotton mill and becoming a catalyst for change. A man capable of thinking, designing, believing and battling who invited others to follow him on his new adventure, far from their origins but with a guarantee of stability and security, together with a house and a job. The first homes consisted of multi-storey buildings that replaced the traditional courtyards with landings. Houses for workers, suitable for two or more families, were soon added; alongside the elegance and purity of the forms, with harmony created by repeated geometrical motifs, were positioned garden areas and vegetable gardens that could be tended by the workers themselves, combining the attractiveness of the spaces endowed with the beauty that all could realise for themselves. The Crespi family villa reflects the role of guide and mediator that first Cristoforo and then his son Silvio chose for themselves.

The community gradually grew up with a church (at the behest of the founder, a faithful copy of the Renaissance sanctuary at Busto Arsizio), a kindergarten, a school, a theatre and a football pitch. Considerable attention was paid to the health of the workers, with a resident doctor and a hospital. Crespi d’Adda is the result of a social and economic project whose protagonists have over time made the choices necessary to preserve its essence; a real-world project that today gives voice to the underlying values that are now once more economic actors – the economics of culture. In order to avoid interventions that would have changed the structural nature of the village, the Crespi d’Adda Association nominated the village for UNESCO protection and, on 5 December 1995, it was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, recognising the important historical, social and environmental value of Crespi d’Adda.

Attrattività e mobilità sostenibile a servizio di uno dei landscape più belli d’Italia
L
e sponde settentrionali del Garda delimitano uno dei più suggestivi landscape del Trentino che ogni anno attrae un alto numero di turisti, tra cui molti amanti delle due ruote. Diversi chilometri sono coperti da piste ciclopedonali che coinvolgono due aspetti intrinsechi tra loro: l’attrattività, con percorsi che permettono di raggiungere, e collegano tra loro, luoghi di interesse, e la mobilità sostenibile che vede nella bici un vero e proprio veicolo a tutela e rispetto dell’ambiente. A seguire la scia di queste fondamentali premesse, è la nota Ciclovia del Garda. Lo spettacolare anello ciclabile interregionale, dal perimetro di 140 km ca. in fase di realizzazione, una volta ultimato permetterà di collegare le tre regioni, Trentino, Lombardia e Veneto valorizzando ulteriormente il panorama paesaggistico interessato. Strategico sarà il ruolo ricoperto dalla Ciclovia del Garda sia per lo sviluppo turistico e culturale delle aree interessate, sia per il contributo nel migliorare la sicurezza tra viabilità ciclopedonale e a motore. L’itinerario della Ciclovia del Garda vedrà poi il collegamento con l’itinerario n. 7 della rete europea ciclabile EuroVelo, e questo è uno tra i dettagli che identificherà lo sviluppo turistico di tutto il lago di Garda. Il tratto di ciclovia che interessa il Trentino copre un totale di 10,8 chilometri, così divisi: 5,5 chilometri lungo la sponda est, da Torbole sino al confine con il Veneto, e 5,3 chilometri ca. lungo la sponda ovest, da Riva del Garda fino al confine con la Lombardia.
Ciclovia Alta Valsugana: Green Road 2020 L’edizione 2020 dell’Italian Green Road Award (l’iniziativa che premia le più belle vie verdi d’Italia che diffondono la conoscenza del territorio e delle sue caratteristiche ambientali, culturali, enogastronomiche) avvenuta durante il “Cosmo Bike Show”, Festival della bici di Verona, ha visto consegnare l’ambito premio alla Ciclovia della Valsugana. Realizzata dall’Ufficio Infrastrutture Ciclopedonali della Provincia autonoma di Trento, la ciclovia conta 250.000 passaggi all’anno. Il PERCORSO: La ciclovia parte da Pergine Valsugana, costeggia il lago di Caldonazzo, prosegue verso Levico Terme e, affiancando il percorso del fiume Brenta, si snoda in direzione di Novaledo, Roncegno Terme, Borgo Valsugana, Castelnuovo, sino da arrivare a Tezze di Grigno, al confine con la provincia di Vicenza. Le stazioni ferroviarie della linea Trento - Venezia sono dislocate lungo tutto l’itinerario, a pochi chilometri l’una dall’altra, mentre sono in fase di realizzazione i 13 chilometri che collegano Pergine Valsugana con la città di Trento. I lavori termineranno entro il 2022 e la Ciclovia dell’Adige sarà quindi collegata con la Ciclovia della Valsugana fino a Venezia.

EIN RADWEG UM DEN GARDASEE Attraktiv: Nachhaltige Mobilität in einer der schönsten Landschaften Italiens
D
as Nordufer des Gardasees ist eine der beeindruckendsten Landschaften des Trentino und lockt alljährlich zahlreiche Touristen an, darunter auch viele Radfans. Etliche Kilometer Radwege schlängeln sich am See entlang und kombinieren zwei Aspekte, die miteinander in Wechselwirkung stehen: Die Schönheit der Landschaft mit Routen, die Orte von besonderem Interesse verbinden, und nachhaltige, umweltfreundliche Mobilität im Sattel eines Fahrrads. Der Radweg Ciclovia del Garda ist ein ausgezeichnetes Beispiel hierfür. Die spektakuläre Rundroute mit einer Gesamtlänge von 140 km wird nach ihrer Fertigstellung die Regionen Trentino, Lombardei und Venetien verbinden und das landschaftlich beeindruckende Gebiet weiter aufwerten. Der Ciclovia del Garda spielt nicht nur für die touristische und kulturelle Entwicklung der betreffenden Gebiete eine strategische Rolle, sondern ermöglicht auch mehr Sicherheit für Fußgänger, Radfahrer und Kraftverkehr. Die Strecke soll an den Europäischen Radweg Nr. 7 EuroVelo angebunden werden – dies ist einer der Kernpunkte für die Fremdenverkehrsentwicklung des gesamten Gardasees. Der Abschnitt des Radwegs im Trentino hat eine Gesamtlänge von 10,8 km, jeweils 5,5 km am Ostufer von Torbole bis an die Grenze zu Venetien und 5,3 km am Westufer von Riva del Garda bis an die Grenze zur Lombardei.

GARDA CYCLE WAY Attractive scenery and sustainable mobility amidst some of Italy’s most beautiful landscapes
T
he northern shores of Lake Garda border one of the most striking landscapes in Trentino, one that attracts numerous tourists each year, including many two-wheel enthusiasts. There are a large number of trails for both cyclists and walkers, all offering two essential features: attractive scenery with routes leading to and interconnecting places of interest; and sustainable mobility, with the bicycle seen as a form of transport that can effectively protect and respect the environment. The well-known Garda Ciclovia (Cycle Way) reflects this basic reasoning. Currently in construction, it is a spectacular interregional cycle ring with a perimeter of 140 km that, once completed, will connect the three regions of

Trentino, Lombardy and Veneto, adding another attractive feature to the landscape. The Garda Cycle Way will play a strategic role both in developing the tourist and cultural appeal of these areas and in contributing to the safety of cyclists and pedestrians alike. The Cycle Way will ultimately connect to Route 7 of the EuroVelo cycle network, an aspect that is intended to characterise the tourist development of the whole of Lake Garda. The section running through Trentino covers a total of 10.8 kilometres as follows: 5.5 kilometres along the eastern shore, from Torbole to the border with Veneto, and some 5.3 kilometres along the western shore from Riva del Garda to the border with Lombardy.

Radweg Alta Valsugana: Green Road 2020
Alta Valsugana Cycle Route: The 2020 Green Road The 2020 edition of the Italian Green Road Award (an initiative that rewards Italy’s best green roads for widening knowledge of a territory and its features in terms of its environment, culture, food and wine) was held during the “Cosmo Bike Show” (the Verona bike festival) and saw this coveted award presented to the Valsugana Cycle Way. Created by the Office for Cycling and Pedestrian Infrastructure of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the cycle route records 250,000 visits a year. THE ROUTE: the cycle way starts from Pergine Valsugana, skirts the lake of Caldonazzo, continues towards Levico Terme and, following the course of the River Brenta, runs towards Novaledo, Roncegno Terme, Borgo Valsugana and Castelnuovo before reaching Tezze di Grigno on the border with the province of Vicenza. There are stations of the Trento-Venice railway line along the entire route, just a few kilometres apart, while the 13 kilometres connecting Pergine Valsugana to the city of Trento are currently under construction. Work will be completed by 2022 and the Adige Cycle Way will then connect with the Valsugana Cycle Way all the way down to Venice.
Der begehrte Italian Green Road Award 2020 (eine Auszeichnung für die schönsten grünen Routen Italiens, die Gebiete und deren Umwelt, Kultur und Gastronomie erschließen) wurde im Rahmen des Bikefestivals „Cosmo Bike Show“ in Verona verliehen und ging heuer an den Radweg Ciclovia della Valsugana. Der Weg wurde vom Amt für Fuß- und Radwege der Autonomen Provinz Trient eingerichtet und wird pro Jahr von gut 250.000 Bikern genutzt. DIE ROUTE: Der Radweg beginnt in Pergine Valsugana, verläuft entlang des Caldonazzosees in Richtung Levico Terme, anschließend entlang des Flusses Brenta nach Novaledo, Roncegno Terme, Borgo Valsugana und Castelnovo bis Trezze di Grigni bis an die Grenze der Provinz Vicenza. Die Bahnhöfe der Bahnlinie Trient-Venedig liegen wenige Kilometer voneinander entfernt an der Strecke. Eine etwa 13 km lange Verbindung von Pergine Valsugana nach Trient wird derzeit gebaut – mit dem voraussichtlichen Abschluss der Arbeiten und dem Anschluss an den Radweg entlang der Etsch entsteht bis 2022 eine durchgehende Radstrecke über das Valsuganatal bis nach Venedig.

U
n inestimabile patrimonio ambientale e culturale ha portato alla Valsugana il certificato di “prima destinazione per il turismo sostenibile”, secondo i criteri del Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Un territorio da conoscere e vivere tutto l’anno nel rispetto della natura e con un ampio ventaglio di opportunità. I due laghi di Levico e Caldonazzo sono Bandiera Blu d’Europa e balneabili da maggio a settembre; offrono spiagge libere e lidi attrezzati in una spettacolare e colorata cornice naturale che si rispecchia nelle limpide acque. L’intera area della Valsugana è un vero e proprio paradiso per gli sportivi che hanno l’imbarazzo della scelta tra le diverse accattivanti proposte: sci nautico, vela, windsurf, canoa, equitazione e oltre 300 km di percorsi dedicati alla MBT. Una ciclabile di 80 km affiancata dal fiume Brenta, permette poi di raggiungere la cittadina di Bassano del Grappa (Vi), pedalando lungo un suggestivo percorso che attraversa villaggi, monumenti storici, biotopi, campi di mais e meleti. Ed è proprio questa ciclabile ad aver ricevuto il premio stampa come “ciclabile più verde dell’anno” all’Italian Green Road Awards. Molti sono gli itinerari dedicati al trekking e meta obbligata sono gli altopiani di Vezzena e della Marcesina, al

confine con la Regione Veneto: itinerari attraversano i forti austro-ungarici e le malghe in quota, dove alpeggiano le famose mucche da latte da cui si produce il formaggio Vezzena. La catena del Lagorai è certo la pura espressione di come poter vivere e conoscere una montagna autentica, poco antropizzata e detta “piccolo Tibet” per quel carattere aspro e selvaggio che, accanto a trincee e resti delle postazioni militari della Grande Guerra, regala l’avvistamento dei più bei esemplari di fauna apina.

ine Landschaft und Kulturgüter von unschätzbarem Wert haben dem Valsugana die Zertifizierung als Destination für nachhaltigen Tourismus nach den Kriterien des Global Sustainable Tourism Council eingebracht. Das Gebiet lässt sich dank eines breiten Angebots an Möglichkeiten das ganze Jahr über im Einklang mit der Natur genießen und erkunden. Levico- und Caldonazzosee sind mit der Blauen Flagge ausgezeichnete Badeseen und warten von Mai bis September mit freien Stränden und bestens ausgerüsteten Schwimmbereichen auf. In ihrem Wasser spiegelt sich anmutig die farbenfrohe Natur der Umgebung. Das gesamte Valsugana ist ein wahres Paradies für Sportfans: Zur Auswahl stehen unter anderem Wasserski, Segeln, Windsurfen, Kanufahren, Reiten und über 300 km eigener MTB-Routen. Auf knapp 80 km Radweg radelt man am Brenta entlang durch Dörfer, vorbei an historischen Denkmälern,
Biotopen, Maisfeldern und Apfelgärten bis ins Städtchen Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza). Die Route wurde von der Presse mit dem Italian Green Roads Award als „grüner Radweg des Jahres“ ausgezeichnet. Außerdem lockt das Gebiet mit einer Vielzahl an Wanderrouten, unter denen vor allem die Hochplateaus von Vezzena und Marcesina an der Grenze zu Venetien einen Abstecher wert sind: Die Strecke führt vorbei an k.u.k. Festungen aus dem ersten Weltkrieg und hochgelegenen Almen, auf denen gemächlich Kühe grasen und die Milch für den beliebten Vezzena-Käse liefern. Die Lagorai-Kette ist ein ausgezeichnetes Beispiel für eine wenig besiedelte, naturbelassene Berglandschaft – nicht umsonst wird sie liebevoll als „kleines Tibet“ betitelt: In der kargen, wilden Landschaft mit Resten von Stellungen aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg kann man die schönsten Exemplare der Alpenfauna weit und breit beobachten.

ts invaluable environmental and cultural heritage has led the Valsugana to be certified as the first destination for sustainable tourism by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. This territory can be discovered and experienced all year round, all while respecting nature and enjoying a wide range of attractions. Two lakes – Levico and Caldonazzo – have received the European Blue Flag award, and swimming is possible from May to September; with open beaches and wellequipped lidos, they boast spectacular and colourful natural settings that are reflected in their clear waters. The whole Valsugana is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, who are spoilt for choice with a wide range of activities: water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, riding and over 300 km of dedicated MBT trails. There is an 80-km cycle way along the River Brenta all the

way to the town of Bassano del Grappa, offering cyclists a picturesque route that passes by villages, historic monuments, biotopes, maize fields and apple orchards. This very trail was awarded the title of “greenest cycle way of the year” at the Italian Green Road Awards. There are numerous trekking routes, with the high plateaus of Vezzena and Marcesina, on the border with the Veneto region, particular must-visits. Paths run past Austro-Hungarian forts and dairy huts high up in the mountains, with milk from the cows that graze there used to make Vezzena cheese. The Lagorai range represents an authentic mountain experience where humans have had little influence; called “Little Tibet”, its harsh and wild character still hosts trenches and relics of the Great War, but also offers the chance to glimpse some of the finest examples of Alpine fauna.

Raggiungere Verona e il Lago di Garda attraverso la Vallagarina e Rovereto. In bici tra castelli, musei, enogastronomia
P
ercorrendo in bici l’antica Via Claudia Augusta, che unisce il Danubio e il Po, si raggiunge Verona e il Lago di Garda. Da Salorno, dopo 90 km di leggera discesa, si arriva a Borghetto e nel tratto finale il percorso si snoda lungo la Vallagarina raggiungendo poi la città di Rovereto. Grazie alla mitezza del clima, la via è percorribile in ogni stagione e pedalare tra musei, cantine e castelli rende questo itinerario vario e accattivante. Nel tratto tra Calliano e Besenello, è impossibile non volgere lo sguardo verso Castel Pietra e verso il più grande complesso fortificato del Trentino, Castel Beseno, che domina dall’alto l’intera valle. Si passa poi sulla Destra Adige dove si incontra Nomi, cittadina nota nel periodo natalizio per i presepi delle sue contrade e conosciuta in estate per i concerti di musica rock. Molte sono le cantine che punteggiano questa zona e creano l’occasione per degustare le bollicine di montagna Trentodoc e rossi autoctoni come il Marzemino. La visita al Biotopo del Taio è invece un must per gli amanti del bird-watching. Proseguendo, dopo pochi chilometri, si raggiunge Rovereto e la sosta è d’obbligo. Rovereto è una città che racchiude molte realtà museali dedicate all’arte moderna e contemporanea tra le quali spiccano il Mart e la Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero. Importanti sono poi i percorsi della memoria con il Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra e la Campana dei Caduti, mentre la Fondazione Museo Civico permette di conoscere da vicino i mondi di scienze e archeologia. Passata Rovereto, la Via Claudia Augusta si divide in due direzioni: verso il Lago di Garda oppure verso Verona. MIT DEM RAD AUF DER VIA CLAUDIA AUGUSTA Über das Vallagarina-Tal und Rovereto bis Verona Schlösser, Museen, Wein und gutes Essen
A
uf dem Rad kann man entlang der alten Via Claudia Augusta, die einst Donau und Po verband, bis Verona und an den Gardasee fahren. Von Salurn gelangt man nach etwa 90 km leichter Abwärtsfahrt nach Borghetto, von wo aus der letzte Teil der Strecke durch das Vallagarina bis ins Städtchen Rovereto führt. Dank des milden Klimas ist die entzückende Route mit ihren Museen, Kellereien und Schlössern für jede Jahreszeit geeignet. Im Abschnitt zwischen Calliano und Besenello ziehen das Schloss Castel Pietra und die hoch über dem Tal thronende größte Festungsanlage des Trentino, Castel Beseno, unweigerlich den Blick auf sich. Auf der orografisch rechten Seite der Etsch gelangt man anschließend in das im Winter für seine Krippen und im Sommer für Rockkonzerte bekannte Nomi. Hier locken zahlreiche Kellereien mit spritzigem TrentoDOC-Sekt und typischen Rotweinen wie etwa dem Marzemino. Das Biotop des Flusses Taio ist zudem eine Pflichtetappe für Birdwatcher. Einige Kilometer weiter liegt Rovereto: Mit ihren vielen Museen der modernen und zeitgenössischen Kunst –
darunter Mart und Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero – ist die Stadt ein Muss. Außerdem erinnern das Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra und die Glocke Campana dei Caduti eindrücklich an die Grauen des Kriegs, während das Stadtmuseum großartige Einblicke in Wissenschaft und Archäologie gibt. Nach Rovereto gabelt sich die Via Claudia Augusta: Auf der einen Seite kommt man an den Gardasee, auf der anderen nach Verona. In Richtung Gardasee gelangt man nach Mori und kann im Bike & Grill in Loppio Qualitätsprodukte aus dem Trentino verkosten, bevor die Fahrt nach Nago weitergeht, von wo aus man einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den See genießt. In Richtung Verona führt die Via Claudia Augusta erst durch das barocke Städtchen Ala, das im 18. Jahrhundert für seine Seidenproduktion bekannt war, und gleich danach nach Avio mit seiner Burg und ihren einmaligen Fresken. Der vollmundige lokale Rotwein Enantio sollte hier unbedingt verkostet werden.

PEDALLING ALONG VIA CLAUDIA AUGUSTA Verona and Lake Garda via the Vallagarina and Rovereto. Cycling between castles, museums, food and wine
C
ycling along the ancient Via Claudia Augusta, which connects the Danube and the Po, brings you to Verona and Lake Garda. After a gentle 90-km ride down from Salorno you arrive in Borghetto, with the final stretch winding along the Vallagarina valley before reaching the city of Rovereto. The mild climate means the route is possible at any time of year, with the museums, wineries and castles along the way making it a varied and captivating itinerary. There is the impressive Castel Pietra, between Calliano and Besenello; while the largest fortified complex in Trentino, Castel Beseno, dominates the entire valley from above. Further along the right bank of the River Adige is Nomi, a small town noted for its nativity scenes at Christmas and its rock concerts in summer. Many wineries dot the area, offering opportunities to taste Trento DOC sparkling wines or native reds such as Marzemino; while a visit to the Taio Biotope is a must for bird-watchers. After a few kilometres you come to Rovereto, a place to stop and visit one of the many museums dedicated to
modern and contemporary art, in particular the Mart and the Depero House of Futurist Art. Important memorials are provided by the Italian War History Museum of and the Bell of the Fallen, while the Civic Museum Foundation offers a close up of the worlds of science and archaeology. Continuing past Rovereto, the Via Claudia Augusta splits in two: towards Lake Garda and towards Verona. Taking the first path, you come to the town of Mori immediately upon leaving the city, with the “bicigrill” at Loppio inviting you to sample products of the “qualità Trentino” brand: from here you can continue to Lake Garda and the pretty village of Nago, which offers spectacular panoramic views of its beautiful waters. If instead you choose to cycle on to Verona, you first come to Ala, a Baroque village famed in the 1700s for the production of silk velvets: while nearby Avio boasts the frescoes of the Castello del Fai – and tasting Enantio, the full-bodied local red wine, is also highly recommended.

Becco di Filadonna, Cima Vezzena, Monte Maggio. Sono alcune cime dell’Alpe Cimbra dove l’ascesa alla vetta regala attimi in cui non si hanno parole e si prova l’autentica emozione di liberare lo sguardo a 360° sull’arco alpino, abbracciare le alpi italiane e austriache per poi perdersi nelle verdi acque dei laghi di Levico e Caldonazzo. Il trekking è la via migliore per conoscere da vicino la storia di queste montagne, scoprire le Sette Grandi Fortezze dell’Imperatore, i grandi forti della Prima Guerra Mondiale tra cui il Forte Belvedere a Lavarone, il più grande d’Europa, e il Forte Werk Lusérn (famoso come “il padre eterno”). rimo museo italiano a ricevere la certificazione di eco-sostenibilità LEED Gold, l’ambito standard rilasciato dal GBCI (Green Building Certification Institute) di Washington, il MUSE – Museo delle Scienze invita alla curiosità scientifica e al piacere della conoscenza per dare valore all’innovazione e alla sostenibilità ambientale. Un’attenzione rivolta ai grandi temi locali e planetari, che guarda in particolare alle giovani generazioni e all’urgenza di richiamare l’opinione pubblica sulla necessità di agire concretamente per mitigare gli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici. Nell’architettura luminosa ed ecosostenibile di Renzo Piano, vive un museo coinvolgente anche alla luce del forte legame con il territorio, reso possibile non solo dall’estesa rete di strutture che compongono il network diffuso del MUSE, ma anche dalle numerose iniziative che mirano a stimolare e rendere parte attiva la popolazione di tutte le età. Cardine delle attività, la “Citizen Science”, letteralmente “scienza dei cittadini”, nuova frontiera della ricerca scientifica strettamente collegata alla cittadinanza attiva e digitale. Nata nel XIX secolo come pratica di coinvolgimento di volontari e non esperti nello studio scientifico dei fenomeni naturali, recentemente è stata potenziata grazie alla disponibilità di piattaforme informatiche mobili (smartphone, tablet…) e alla loro efficacia nel veicolare il concetto di scienza come bene comune, democratico, “aperto” e accessibile a tutti. Uno strumento partecipativo su cui il MUSE, dal 2019 membro di ECSA (Associazione Europea di Citizen Science), sta credendo molto con interessanti progetti di raccolta, analisi e interpretazione di dati a fini scientifici, come “Urban Nature”, “School of Ants: a scuola con le formiche” e “Un anno con le rondini”, nell’ottica di costruire assieme un futuro migliore. ls erstes naturwissenschaftliches Museum Italiens erhielt das Trienter MUSE die Nachhaltigkeitsbescheinigung LEED Gold des GBCI (Green Building Certification Institute) mit Sitz in Washington. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf wichtigen lokalen und globalen Themen, wobei man besonders junge Generationen ansprechen und die öffentliche Meinung zur aktiven Bekämpfung des Klimawandels bewegen möchte. Das lichtdurchflutete, nachhaltige Gebäude des Architekten Renzo Piano beherbergt ein spannendes Museum, das sich durch die enge Verbindung mit seinem Einzugsgebiet dank eines breiten Netzwerks beteiligter Einrichtungen sowie durch die breite Palette an Initiativen zur aktiven Einbindung von Bevölkerungsschichten aller Altersgruppen auszeichnet. Im Mittelpunkt des Gesamtkonzepts steht die so genannte Citizen Science, eine offene Form der Wissenschaft, die auf den aktiven, heute meist digitalen Beitrag der Allgemeinheit setzt. Über die Bürgerwissenschaft wurden im 19. Jahrhundert erstmals Laien und Hobbywissenschaftler in die Forschung eingebunden – heute ist die Zusammenarbeit dank mobiler digitaler Plattformen (Smartphone, Tablet etc.) und der Auffassung von Wissenschaft als öffentlich zugänglichem Gemeingut noch stärker. Das MUSE ist seit 2019 Mitglied der European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) und betreibt etwa mit „Urban Nature“, „School of Ants“ und „Un anno con le rondini“ (Ein Jahr im Leben der Schwalbe) eine Reihe von Projekten zur Erfassung, Analyse und Interpretation von Daten für die Wissenschaft mit dem Ziel, gemeinsam auf eine bessere Zukunft hinzuarbeiten.

USE, the Science Museum in Trento, is the first museum in Italy to receive the LEED Gold eco-sustainability certification from the Washington-based GBCI (Green Building Certification Institute). The value of innovation and environmental sustainability is fostered through scientific curiosity and the pleasure of learning. The focus is on major local and planetary issues, aimed in particular at the younger generations and the urgency of shifting public opinion in favour of concrete action to mitigate the effects of climate change. The immersive museum features bright and eco-friendly architecture – the work of Renzo Piano – that highlights its strong regional links that are due not only to the many structures making up the widespread network of MUSE, but also to the numerous activities that aim to stimulate and involve local people of all ages. The cornerstone of its activities is “Citizen Science”, a new frontier of scientific research that is closely linked to active and digital citizenship. Founded in the 19th century as a way to involve volunteers and laypeople in the scientific study of natural phenomena, it has recently been enhanced thanks to the availability of mobile platforms (smartphones, tablet, etc.) and their effectiveness in conveying the concept of science as a common good that is democratic, “open” and accessible to all. MUSE, since 2019 a member of ECSA (European Citizen Science Association), holds this participatory tool in high esteem and runs interesting projects for the collection, analysis and interpretation of data for scientific purposes, such as “Urban Nature”, “School of Ants” and “A year with Swallows”, all with the aim of building a better future together.

Nella realizzazione della Fondazione Pavarotti, possiamo intravedere un atto di riconoscenza o un dono d’amore per ricordare e tramandare un messaggio che lui stesso avrebbe voluto per i giovani? Credo entrambe le cose. Riconoscenza per tutto ciò che Luciano ha fatto nel corso della sua lunga carriera coniugato al desiderio di poter continuare la sua opera, di continuare ciò che egli avrebbe voluto fare se non fosse stato fermato dalla malattia. Luciano amava sinceramente i giovani, sentiva quasi il dovere di dover condividere con loro la sua passione ed esperienza. Si sentiva profondamente grato del dono che aveva ricevuto, la voce, e poter lavorare con i giovani era il suo modo per restituire qualcosa. Ci fa piacere pensare che ogni volta che la Fondazione porta sul palcoscenico un nuovo cantante, Luciano da lassù gli regali uno dei suoi meravigliosi sorrisi.

Una Fondazione dalla memoria viva e cosmopolita, perché in ogni parte del mondo l’obiettivo è promuovere la cultura per costruire un mondo migliore. Il Maestro era un idealista o un visionario? Luciano era certamente un idealista, perché ambiva alla pace e ad aiutare chi era nel bisogno. Visionario è colui che fantastica di progetti irrealizzabili, non declinabili nella realtà, mentre le alte aspirazioni di Luciano hanno sempre trovato modo di concretizzarsi realmente. Pensiamo, ad esempio, alle cause benefiche sostenute dai concerti “Pavarotti & Friends”: il risultato di quell’impegno idealista sono i centri realizzati in giro per il mondo, dalla Bosnia alla Cambogia, passando per il Guatemala e per i campi profughi di Pakistan, Angola e Iraq. Il primo centro inaugurato, il Pavarotti Music Center di Mostar, rimane ancora oggi un inno alla fratellanza che supera le divisioni religiose, etniche e sociali. Luciano ne era molto fiero. TÊTE-À-TÊTE MIT NICOLETTA MANTOVANI Ein Gespräch mit der Gattin des berühmten Tenors Luciano Pavarotti über das künstlerische und menschliche Erbe eines außerordentlichen Mannes, dessen weltweite Erfolge ihresgleichen suchen. Ist die Gründung der Stiftung Fondazione Pavarotti als Anerkennung oder vielmehr als Geschenk zu verstehen, mit dem Pavarottis Botschaft an die Jugend in Erinnerung gerufen und verbreitet werden soll? Es ist wohl beides, denke ich. Einerseits Anerkennung für alles, was Luciano in seiner langen Karriere geleistet hat, und andererseits der Wunsch, sein Werk weiterzuführen und zu vollenden, was seine Krankheit damals unterbrochen hat. Luciano liebte die Jugend und fühlte sich gewissermaßen verpflichtet, mit ihr seine Leidenschaft und Erfahrung zu teilen. Er war dankbar für seine Gabe, und die Arbeit mit jungen Menschen war seine Art, diese Dankbarkeit zu zeigen. Wann immer wir ein neues Gesangstalent auf die Bühne bringen, stellen wir uns mit Freude vor, dass Luciano von oben mit seinem strahlenden Lächeln zusieht. Eine weltoffene, lebendige Stiftung, die rund um den Globus Kultur fördert und eine bessere Welt schaffen will. War Pavarotti ein Idealist oder ein Visionär? Luciano war mit Sicherheit ein Idealist, der sich Frieden wünschte und Hilfsbedürftige unterstützen wollte. Ein Visionär träumt von nicht umsetzbaren Vorhaben, die mit der Wirklichkeit kaum vereinbar sind – Lucianos schaffte es hingegen immer, seine Träume zu verwirklichen. Denken wir zum Beispiel an die Wohltätigkeitskonzerte von Pavarotti & Friends: Mit den Einnahmen wurden weltweit, von Bosnien über Kambodscha bis nach Guatemala, Einrichtungen finanziert und Flüchtlingslager in Pakistan, Angola und im Irak errichtet. Das erste Projekt war das Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar, das noch heute als Sinnbild für Brüderlichkeit jenseits aller religiösen, ethnischen und sozialen Klüfte gilt. I think both: an acknowledgment of all that Luciano did over the course of his long career combined with the desire to continue his work, to continue what he would have wanted to do had he not been stopped by illness. Luciano sincerely loved young people, he felt it was almost a duty to share his passion and experience with them.

The Foundation has a living and cosmopolitan memory, as in every part of the world the aim is to promote culture so as to build a better world. Was the Master an idealist or a visionary? Luciano was certainly an idealist, because he aspired to peace and to helping those in need. A visionary is one who fantasises about unrealisable projects that cannot be achieved, while Luciano’s great aspirations always found a way to be materialised. Let us think, for example, of the charitable causes supported by the Pavarotti & Friends concerts: this idealistic commitment resulted in the centres built around the world from Bosnia to Cambodia, via Guatemala and the refugee camps of Pakistan, Angola and Iraq. The first centre to be opened, the Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar, remains today as an ode to brotherhood, one that overcomes religious, ethnic and social divisions: Luciano was extremely proud of it.

he modern, innovative city of Milan is also home to La Scala, a venue where the values of both the Italian and international musical heritage can be heard. Created at the behest of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, designed by neoclassical architect Giuseppe Piermarini and inaugurated in 1778 with the opera “Europe Revealed” by Antonio Salieri, the theatre was a favourite of Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Arturo Toscani. It has long shaped the careers of great directors, such as Franco Zeffirelli and Luchino Visconti; choreographers and dancers, such as Carla Fracci and Rudolf Nureyev; and great voices, including Maria Callas, Plácido Domingo and the “Maestro” himself, Luciano Pavarotti. La Scala’s reputation is further enhanced by its orchestra and choir: with over 150 elements, the presence of leading guest artists and conductors, not to mention strict selection criteria, it is internationally recognised for its outstanding opera productions and symphonies. The season, traditionally opening on 7 December, each year includes some twenty operas and ballets, as well as symphony concerts and singing recitals: a total of 250 events staged almost every night except in August. The Theatre Museum also offers visits to the theatre during the day (9am - 5pm) and hosts both a valuable permanent collection and special temporary exhibitions.

Venezia si respira storia, arte, cultura. Singolare è la sua toponomastica: non si percorrono vie, ma calli; non si incontrano piazze, ma campi o campielli che riportano il nome della chiesa che vi si affaccia; rio terà indica il canale interrato, mentre riva o fondamenta è la strada che segue il canale. Ogni toponimo è accompagnato da una denominazione, a volte curiosa, che non è certo priva del valore storico della città e racchiude aneddoti e leggende. Passeggiando per la Calle del Paradiso, il cui nome richiama il fasto delle cerimonie, sull’arco gotico si trova il bassorilievo con la Madonna che accoglie sotto il mantello le famiglie Foscari e Mocenigo, proprietarie dei due edifici. Calle della Donna Onesta e Calle dell’Amor degli Amici richiamano, invece, le vicende avvenute proprio in quelle zone. La leggenda racconta che la bella moglie dello spadaio Battista, Santina, insidiata da un tal Marchetto venne difesa dall’amico di Battista, Zuane bareter (il cap-
pellaio) la cui bottega si trovava presso una calle lì vicino. Da questo episodio deriva quindi la dicitura “all’amor degli amici”. Il Campo dei Mori, invece, trae origine dalle tre statue con turbante poste lungo uno degli edifici che circondano il campo e la vicina fondamenta. La tradizione identifica i tre fratelli Mastelli, ricchi mercanti della Morea (che indicava il Peloponneso) e la presenza dei turbanti sembra dovuta proprio al termine antico Morea che ha indotto l’errata credenza che i Mastelli fossero appunto Mori. I toponimi raccontano anche la quotidianità dei luoghi, come la Calle e Rio Terà dei “nomboli” che richiama i quarti di bue esposti nelle botteghe della zona; Calle della Racchetta ricorda che sin dal ‘500 in quelle aree si praticava il gioco del tennis. E ancora, Calle de la Raffineria per la fabbrica dove si raffinava lo zucchero oppure Calle de la Malvasia per rivendite di vino Malvasia proveniente dalla Grecia. GLANCE 2020

Eine der vielen Besonderheiten dieser Stadt sind ihre Bezeichnungen für Straßen, Wasserwege und Plätze: Hier spaziert man nicht durch Straßen, sondern durch Calli. Plätze heißen Campi oder Campielli und sind nach der dazugehörigen Kirche benannt. Zugeschüttete Wasserwege nennt man Rio terà, Uferbefestigungen Riva oder Fondamenta. Ihre jeweiligen Namen nehmen häufig auf Ereignisse, Anekdoten oder Legenden Bezug. Am gotischen Bogen der nach dem Prunk der Feste und Zeremonien benannten Calle del paradiso erspäht man beispielsweise das Flachrelief einer Madonna, die schützend ihren Mantel über die Familien Foscari und Mocenigo – die Eigentümer der Gebäude zu beiden Seiten – hält. Die Namen Calle della Donna Onesta und Calle dell’Amor degli Amici würdigen hingegen Aufrichtigkeit und Freundschaft: Santina, die schöne Frau des Schwertschmieds Battista, wurde einst von einem gewissen Marchetto bedrängt. Der Hutmacher und Freund Battistas, Zuane bareter, dessen Laden gleich um die Ecke lag, kam ihr in der misslichen Lage zu Hilfe. Der Campo dei Mori hingegen ist nach drei Statuen benannt: Es soll sich um die Gebrüder Mastelli, reiche Kaufleute vom Peloponnes, handeln. Ihre Turbane sind wohl ein Hinweis darauf, dass man sie aufgrund der romanischen Bezeichnung für ihre Heimat, Morea, fälschlicherweise für Mauren hielt. Weitere Ortsnamen geben Aufschluss über den Alltag in Venedig, etwa Calle und Rio terà dei nomboli, deren Name von den hier angepriesenen Rindervierteln herrührt. Calle della racchetta verweist darauf, dass hier bereits im 15. Jahrhundert Tennis gespielt wurde. Calle de la raffineria ist nach der dortigen Zuckerraffinerie benannt, Calle de la Malvasia hingegen nach dem griechischen Wein, der dort verkauft wurde…

RIVE, CALLI AND FONDAMENTE Discovering the original place names of Venice – where every name conceals an anecdote or legend
H
istory, art and culture pervade the air of Venice. Place names are unique: instead of vie (roads) there are calli; instead of piazze (squares) there are campi or campielli bearing the name of the church that stands on them; a rio terà is a filled-in canal, while a riva or fondamenta is a road that follows the canal. Each place has a (sometimes curious) name that reflects the city’s historic value and conceals an anecdote or legend. Walking through the Calle del paradiso, whose name recalls the splendour of ceremonies, the Gothic arch bears a bas-relief of the Madonna, receiving the owners of the two buildings, the Foscari and Mocenigo families, under her mantle. The Calle della Donna Onesta and the Calle dell’Amor degli Amici instead recall events that took place in those very areas: legend has it that Santina, beautiful wife of the sword-maker Battista, was importuned by one Marchetto and defended by a friend of Battista, Zuane bareter (the hatter), whose workshop was located on a nearby calle. From this episode comes the phrase “all’amor degli amici [to the love of friends]”. The name of Il Campo dei Mori, instead, originates from three turbaned statues on one of the buildings around the campo and the nearby fondamenta. Tradition identifies them as the three Mastelli brothers, rich merchants from Morea (the Peloponnese): the turbans are due to this ancient term “Morea” that led to a mistaken belief that the Mastelli were in fact “moors”. Auch für Anfänger und gemütlichere Skifans steht eine beträchtliche Anzahl an Pisten zur Auswahl, während sich Snowboarder und Freestyler auf Easy Line, Medium Line, Medium Rail Line und Medium Kickerline vergnügen können. Der Kronplatz ist Natur, Unterhaltung, Tradition und Kultur. Hier befinden sich auf 2275 m Meereshöhe zwei prestigereiche Museen: Auf der einen Seite das von Stararchitektin Zada Hadid entworfene und dem traditionellen Alpinismus gewidmete Messner Mountain Museum Corones, auf der anderen das Lumen, das ein umfassendes Panorama der Bergfotografie mit all ihren Facetten bietet. Und damit nicht genug: Im Lumen befindet sich außerdem das Restaurant AlpiNN – ein modernes Ambiente, in dem Sternekoch Norbert Niederkofler alpine Küche mit lokalen Zutaten der Saison interpretiert.

lan de Corones is a landscape that knows no seasons as its beauty and surprises are a delight at any time of year. The mountain takes centre stage, from the peaks to the north, a magnet for mountaineers, climbers and mountainbikers, to the majestic Dolomites to the south, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A wide variety of excursions awaits visitors who can choose between walks that offer wonderful panoramic views; high-altitude routes dedicated to experienced trekkers; or gentle and peaceful outdoor trips for families. Plan de Corones occupies an area that includes the Pusteria, Anterselva and Casies Valleys all the way to the Val Badia. Each contains villages and localities that uphold their traditions, proudly reflected in their costumes and crafts. It is also possible to experience and learn about the territory thanks to its linguistic heritage, one that brings together three languages: Italian, Ladin and German. The ski area between Brunico, San Vigilio and Valdaora boasts 119 km of slopes, including the “Black Five”, a
quintet of black slopes that require both stamina and skill. Among them is the famous “Erta”, one of the pistes used for the FIS Ski World Cup held annually in South Tyrol. Beginners and leisure skiers too have plenty of choice, while snowboarders and freestylers can enjoy themselves on the Easy Line, Medium Line, Medium Rail Line and Medium Kickerline. Plan de Corones is home to nature, fun, tradition and culture. At the very summit, at an altitude of 2,275 metres, can be found two prestigious museums: the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, designed by Zaha Hadid and dedicated to traditional mountaineering, and Lumen, a museum of mountain photography that offers a wide overview of various aspects of this art form. And that’s not all... Lumen is also home to the AlpiNN restaurant, a project by chef Norbert Niederkofler: a modern setting that offers mountain cuisine to reflect both the surroundings and the season.

l countdown è iniziato e Cortina d’Ampezzo si sta preparando ai tanto attesi Campionati del mondo di sci alpino. Il comitato organizzatore dell’evento è Fondazione Cortina 2021 che, presieduta da Alessandro Benetton, ha seguito e segue i preparativi con un’attenzione costante al territorio e alla sostenibilità. ofana - Freccia nel Cielo da oltre 50 anni rende accessibile a tutti uno dei più suggestivi scenari sulla conca ampezzana, raggiungendo i 3244 m della Tofana di Mezzo, una delle cime più alte delle Dolomiti. Lo storico complesso funiviario, composto di tre tronconi che portano alle stazioni di Col Druscié (1778 m), Ra Valles (2470 m) e Cima Tofana di Mezzo (3244 m), per la stagione invernale 2019/2020 ha presentato una grande e importante novità, anche in vista dei prossimi Mondiali di Sci 2021 e delle Olimpiadi 2026. Il primo tratto è stato completamente rinnovato con una moderna cabinovia, inaugurata lo scorso 11 gennaio. Realizzata da Tofana srl con Leitner e lo studio di progettazione G22 Projects, è la prima cabinovia per Cortina d’Ampezzo: collega la stazione a valle con quella di Col Druscié (1778 m) e le 47 moderne cabine, con alti standard di qualità, comfort e tecnologia, trasportano fino a 1800 persone all’ora, riducendo i tempi di attesa. D’inverno permette di raggiungere piste riconosciute tra le più importanti di Cortina, come la pista Col Druscié A, palcoscenico di gare tecniche come slalom speciali maschile e femminile durante i Mondiali di Sci 2021; la pista Col Druscié B, ampliata a 40 m con un nuovo muro che la rende unica nel comprensorio e adatta al riscaldamento e agli allenamenti degli atleti; e la pista

ie historische Aufstiegsanlage Tofana - Freccia nel Cielo bringt seit über 50 Jahren Gäste aus aller Welt in eine der schönsten Landschaften der Ampezzaner Dolomiten: Die Tofana di Mezzo, mit 3244 m einer der höchsten Dolomitengipfel. Hier wurde in der Wintersaison 2019/2020 eine Neuheit präsentiert, von der auch die Alpine Ski-WM 2021 und die Olympischen Winterspiele 2026 profitieren dürften: Der erste Teil der aus den drei Abschnitten Col Druscié (1778 m), Ra Valles (2470 m) und Cima Tofana di Mezzo (3244 m) bestehenden Anlage wurde umfassend erneuert und mit einer modernen Gondelbahn ausgestattet, die am 11. Januar eingeweiht wurde. Die Bahn wurde von Tofana srl in Zusammenarbeit mit Leitner und dem Planungsstudio G22 Projects realisiert und ist die erste ihrer Art in Cortina: Sie verbindet schneller als bisher die Talstation mit Col Druscié (1778 m) und befördert bis zu 1.800 Gäste pro Stunde in 47 hochmodernen, komfortablen Kabinen. Im Sommer hingegen locken hier ausgezeichnete Wandermöglichkeiten, Klettersteige, MTB- und DownhillRouten sowie das Helmut-Ullrich-Observatorium. he Tofana - Freccia nel Cielo (Arrow in the Sky) is a historic aerial ropeway consisting of three sections that run to the stations of Col Druscié (1,778 m), Ra Valles (2,470 m) and finally to the summit of the Tofana di Mezzo, at 3,244 metres one of the highest peaks in the Dolomites. For over 50 years now it has been making the fantastic scenery around Cortina d’Ampezzo accessible to all. Winter 2019-2020 will see a major new feature, installed with a view to the World Ski Championships in 2021 and the Winter Olympics in 2026. Three stages lead to the stations of Col Druscié (1,778 m), Ra Valles (2,470 m) and Cima Tofana di Mezzo (3,244 m); the first section has been completely renovated with a modern gondola, inaugurated on 11 January. Built by Tofana srl together with Leitner and the G22 Projects design studio, it is the first gondola to serve Cortina d’Ampezzo, connecting the valley station with Col Druscié (1,778 m): the 47 modern cabins, all built to high standards of quality, comfort and technology, can carry up to 1,800 people an hour, reduc-
