During the week of the Athens Fair, August 17th through the 23rd, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar by John McCord! Then, at month’s end, all the milk donation cards will be passed on to the Circle of Joy. They will then distribute them to families in need. Together, we can make this a great program for area children and others to get the milk they need for strong bones and teeth.

WILLIAM (BILL) C. DIEDRICH Bill Diedrich, 65, died friday at his home in Kansas City, Mo. He was born January 3, 1951 in Athens to Alfred and Erna (Nehrbass) Diedrich. He worked at a couple different airlines for 25 years, and as a maintenance man for a school for 18 years.

Survivors include: James (Kitty) Diedrich; Sister-in-Law, Phyllis; and nieces, Audrey, Amy, Laura and nephew, Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.

2015 ATHENS FAIR August 20 - 23, 2015 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Thursday, August 20th Central International Gladiolus Show will be in the Commercial Exhibition Building.

Visit the many commercial exhibits in the Community Hall and in the park throughout the fair.

Eat at one of the locally sponsored food stands - St. Anthony’s, Trinity Lutheran, Christ United, Colby FFA, Holstein Breeders, St. Anthony’s School for Fish Fry on Friday from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Charcoal Chicken Dinner on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; Trinity Lutheran Ham Dinner on Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m.

Patronize the Legion/VFW Beer Stand in the park throughout the fair music provided on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

View the exhibits - animals in the park and produce, flowers and crafts in the hall.

Earl’s Rides will be on the Midway throughout the fair. Advance sale tickets will be honored on all rides all weekend. Tickets must be purchased before show opening from businesses in town. Wrist bands will be sold from the ticket booths.

Bingo will be managed by St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Members.

The shuttle buses (Dreams Come True Limousine) will be operating on Sunday bringing people to the downtown area from parking areas away from the downtown. The buses will start at 11:00 a.m. and continue until they are no longer needed.

Wood Carving will be weather permitting.
