MOVING INTO THE NEXT PHASE OF KNOWLES

The Knowles reconstruction project is moving tight along! Knowles Phase 1, completed last year, extended from McLeroy Blvd to Park Center and included the addition of a traffic circle at the WJ Boaz intersection. Phases 2 and 3, spanning from Longhorn to Big Willow Dr, are now in their final

stages and are expected to be completed by late January. Once finished, McLeroy Blvd will be closed between Woodcrest and Knowles from late January to late March to eliminate the low-water crossing and reconstruct the area Following that, from late March to September, the intersection of

Knowles Dr and McLeroy Blvd will be closed to build a traffic circle. The Knowles project the relocation and installation of a storm water system to alleviate flooding

These improvements, approved by voters in the 2021 Bond Committee, are essential to address critical infrastructure needs as our city continues to grow. Thank you for your patience during this time of progress!

Happy New Year, Saginaw! As we welcome 2025, I’m excited about the changes and opportunities ahead for our city. This year, Opal Jo Jennings and Brian Schwengler Memorial Parks will both be getting incredible makeovers. Plus, the much-anticipated Library and Senior Center is on track to open in Fall 2025, and I know it will be a fantastic addition to our community

In May, we’ll hold elections for City Council, and I encourage anyone passionate about making a difference in Saginaw to pick up a candidate packet and run for office. If serving on council isn’t for you, consider joining one of our boards or commissions it’s a great way to get involved and help shape the future of our city

Mark your calendars for March 29th and join us for The Big Event! This is an amazing volunteer initiative where groups come together to help our neighbors across Saginaw At our first Big Event, we had 120 volunteers complete 13 projects, including yard work for senior residents. If you’d like to participate, visit www saginawtx org/bigevent for more information

Finally, I encourage residents to host a Garage Gab this year It’s a chance for the city to come to your neighborhood and hold a town hall in your driveway a casual, fun way to connect and share ideas with your neighbors and city staff.

Here’s to a fantastic 2025, full of growth and community spirit Thank you for making Saginaw such an incredible place to call home!

DISCOVER SAGINAW’S HISTORY AT BELTMILL

The Beltmill project, situated at the northeast corner of Bailey Boswell and Saginaw Blvd, now features a unique way to connect with our city's past. During the planning stages, the project manager envisioned historical markers along the walking trail, highlighting the rich history of Saginaw

Ronnie Horton and Megan Guynes, Saginaw Library employees, collaborated to bring this vision to life by researching, writing, and editing five key elements of Saginaw's history. These markers have been installed and are located along the walking trail near the westernmost pond at Beltmill

The markers, titled The People Before, Alongside the Chisholm Trail, Trains Through Texas, The Boom of Business, and The Aviation Industry Lands in Saginaw, offer a fascinating glimpse into the events and industries that shaped our community We invite you to visit Beltmill and take a stroll through history!

In 2024, the City Council approved replacing the Recreation Center gymnasium floor, which will include adding two indoor Pickleball courts!
