Sagemont’s curricular offerings allow students to plan, develop, and create projects that focus on real world applications. Our Sagemont learners are innovative and entrepreneurial, something we encourage and develop by focusing on seven key skill sets. With a focus on collaboration, being a reflective problem finder/solver, engaging in responsible risk taking, taking an analytical approach, all while fostering a curious and creative mindset, it is no wonder we have two campuses filled with extraordinaryindividuals.
As we prepare for dynamic learning environments, it is essential that our leaders in the classroom continue to build their knowledge base, reflect on practices, enhance educational practices, and acquire and share their expertise with eachother Withthisinmind, wehaveanewpartnershipwithUnchartedLearning, aneducationalcompany, toprovide a rigorous entrepreneurship curriculum and professional development to support our exciting new programming and continuousgrowth.

The 25th anniversary year of Sagemont was a pivotal year in our school’s evolution. The Lower and Upper Campus were unified in establishing a cohesive and progressive new mission to infuse innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the curriculum, and we reestablished our commitment to empowering students to lead. Our faculty has spent the summer engaging in professional development to provide the tools they need in order to inspire innovation within their classrooms.

Entrepreneurship is a mindset, where students are encouraged to view problems as opportunities and collaboration as the means to the solution. Educators are currently faced with the unique and exciting challenge to prepare a generation of students for career paths that are most likely not in existence today. However, the Sagemont team is composed of "edu preneurs, " and we proudly embrace our role to provide a safe environment to learn from failure and to consistently strive to ignite students’ curiosity.

Exploring curiosity in 6th grade is imperative to our students’ educational experience. Curiosity provides the opportunity for students to authentically engage in and enjoy discovery learning. Curious students are more ingrained in the learning process. To ensure the joy of learning, the 6th grade curriculum focuses on opportunities for students to explore and engage in the learning process in a way that piques their curiosity about the world around them. Our 6th graders will explore the world of game design. This course is designed to introduce students to the metaverse world of Roblox. Students will learn about the platform, explore the Roblox Studio game engine, build an obstacle course ("obby"), add code scripts to the obby, and customize their own game. By the end of this course, students will publish their creations to Roblox for friends and family to play.

6th Grade: Curiosity
Problem
Problem finding and problem solving can be a daunting process there may be no clear and definitive answers. That’s the beauty of our 8th grade projects. Sagemont’s 8th grade curriculum utilizes problem finding and problem solving to encourage responsible risk taking. Students are taught the process of problem finding and solving by giving them the tools they need to define problems, think proactively, and achieve higher quality outcomes. Successful problem finders and problem solvers view problems through many lenses and varied perspectives. During the first semester, students engage in Future City, a project based learning program where 8th grade students imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. Future City gives students the chance to dream about their future through problem finding and solving. All 8th graders are introduced to entrepreneurship through our partnership with Uncharted Learning and the mxINCedu program. Through this program, students explore entrepreneurship, build skills, identify passions and career interests. Sagemont students work in teams to identify a problem to solve, design and pitch a solution, and expose the product or service to the marketplace. This program is a progressive, experiential journey that empowers students to drive their own learning and embrace an iterative process of testing, learning, and application.
Innovators in 7th grade will be able to work in teams to research ideas extensively. They will learn to think critically about various perspectives. Together with energy and passion, students will work to develop their written and verbal skills through competition based work in multiple subject areas. Students are prepared for and participate in collaborative discussions and projects, building on each other’s ideas. The 7th grade curriculum includes the requirement of Speech and Debate. What better way to develop true collaboration! Students are provided with the opportunity to develop research skills, critical thinking, organization, persuasion and communication. Setting aside personal bias, our students must debate the sides of various issues and come up with conclusions. Decision making is key in this grade level course and viewing things from multiple perspectives is essential. Students take ownership of their education, as this class allows students to take charge of their voice while listening and respecting that of the larger group. Collaborative work is also core as the science fair projects extend this year to incorporate group work. Founded on identifying problems, students work together to create solutions based on one or more of the following goals: raising awareness, taking action, driving change, and making a difference.

10th Grade: Responsible Risk-Taking
Embrace endless possibilities as a freshman! This is a time at the high school level for our students to dive into their passion, be creative, and find out what moves them. At this foundational stage, Sagemont equips students to step outside the box and explore through offerings such as Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Social Media Marketing, Theater Design and Production, Robotics, Astronomy, Rock Band and so much more. As our freshman class embarks on their elective of choice, they will quickly realize that creativity and expression are core components. Our students lead the process and are exposed to the application at all levels.
A key characteristic of any successful individual is their ability to take responsible risks.
Drawing on past knowledge, being thoughtful about consequences, accepting uncertainty and risk of failure as a normal part of the process. In 10th grade we ask our students to embark on a journey of being bold, decisive, confident, courageous, creative, innovative, and comfortable with uncertainty. Our 10th grade students work in conjunction with our college counselor and financial literacy/economics teacher to explore potential universities that best support their future career paths. Students analyze the cost of university and research deeper into their career field and its financial benefits. This is where the fun begins! Each student will use the knowledge obtained from the previous semester of financial literacy to learn different investment strategies and their levels of risk tolerance as they invest their earnings. During the semester, 10th grade students learn the concept of taking responsible financial risks and the relationship to retirement planning. For our students who are looking forward to being our next generation of future entrepreneurs, we will evaluate initiative, venture capitalists, and capital raising.
Executive internships provide the opportunity for students to develop practical and useful skills as they analyze their present and future. Experience in a field of interest helps to develop a plan for the future and throughout each executive internship, students must critically reflect.
Our 11th grade students work alongside our college counselor and together are partners in future planning. Sagemont’s partnerships include a variety of fields including but not limited to business operations, health care, law, public relations, social work agencies, engineering, art and design, and technology. The possibilities are endless and together with our dynamic campus leaders and college counselor, we explore and find the right fit for our students.
11th Grade: Analytical
At every grade level, the Sagemont learner discovers what it takes to be innovative and entrepreneurial through an intense focus on seven key skills: curiosity, collaboration, problem finding/solving, creativity, responsible risk taking, analytical thinking, and reflection. We empower our students over the years to explore their passions and be intentional. Now is the time to put this into practice. Through Sagemont’s community partnerships, 11th grade students are engaged in executive internships in areas of interest.
9th Grade: Creativity
As our students continue to grow in core classes and electives, we challenge each to step beyond the classroom space and curate their journey of discovery. Through TED talk style presentations, students discover, explore, and present their big and developing ideas to the community. Students in 9th grade are empowered to be imaginative and innovative as they begin their exploration of the future and their passions.
12th Grade:
With standards rooted in Sagemont’s Learning Outcomes, students develop skills in inquiry, communication, and independent learning. Students utilize skills in information literacy, communication, collaboration, thinking, reflection, and transfer.
A celebrated tradition of the senior experience is our Sagemont Senior Marketplace. Delivered through the Micro economic course, all seniors work in groups to collaborate and develop a marketplace. Students are tasked with developing a business together. This process includes documentation of all aspects of the business, including a business plan, strategic marketing, understanding supply and demand, profit margins and ultimately starting up a company. A marketplace is established by the senior class and the school community serves as their customers in a competitive market.
A new tradition to the senior year experience is our Sagemont Passion Project. The Passion Project is a learner centered, choice based research project completed by students over a semester. Through a partnership with Youth & Peace In Action, Sagemont seniors participate in an innovative platform with content focused on the fundamentals of peacebuilding. Through an ongoing collaborative and reflective process, our seniors work to analyze problems in their community. Through this process of problem finding, seniors work to develop creative and sustainable solutions.
The Sagemont Passion Project is focused on leadership development, responsible risk taking and civic engagement.

The ability to reflect is the essence of learning and becoming educated. Through the developmental process of self reflection, goal development, and relationship with an advisor, students create one of a kind research projects.
Reflective
In alignment with our school's mission, the students will be engaged in long term, extensive projects that will further develop and enhance a multitude of high level skills such as entrepreneurship, exploration, critical thinking, research, observation, questioning, application and extension to real world experiences. Each grade level project focuses on a certain skill while incorporating others throughout the process. We want students to engage with the world around them, question everything, think for themselves, push through challenges, maximize inner motivation and determination to succeed.
We are excited for the expansion of our student enrichment opportunities while increasing student involvement after school. Enrichments to include; Gourmet Kids (PK 3rd), Fitness Kids (PK 3rd), Soccer Kids (PK 3rd), Drone Fli h S h l (3 d 5 h) S S i A d (PK 5th).

“We are Kinderpreneurs” Embracing collaboration is key to being an entrepreneur and our kindergarten students are in this process, consistently working in teams A true collaborative process values the contributions made by peers and Sagemont Kinderpreneurs begin this foundational work through the creation of their in school marketplace, Kindermart Students conduct survey research within the school to determine products of interest Students are immersed in the process of business creation, having fun while learning through their shared experience Through this innovative marketplace experience, students develop a strong understanding of important concepts such as currency, goods exchange, teamwork, and research, all while engaging in boundless creativity. Furthermore, this experiential learning fosters development in literacy skills, idea generation, and the intricacies of design Throughout their creation, educational opportunities are provided with field trips to local businesses such as Publix to enhance their real world connections The culminating event for our young entrepreneurs is opening their marketplace to their school community Kinderpreneurs are making connections and developing life skills while learning and having fun all year long!
Wonderment and curiosity permeates Sagemont’s early childhood program and this is expanded upon in Pre K Our students develop a strong desire to learn more through asking questions, searching for answers, and exploring possibilities Curious exploration is a key foundation, as student interest is fundamental to all stages of learning In Pre K, Sagemont educators take the students' love for the natural world and provide daily opportunities for students to inquire, question, share ideas and be driven by their natural curiosity As spring nears, our Pre K educators utilize the season and our young learners' connection to the natural world to dive into a curiously awesome project The Bees and Butterflies Life Cycle Simulation. In this grade level project, our curious learners create a beeswax and a butterfly life cycle model Through this process, students will explore the scientific process through questioning, observation, research, making hypotheses, and analyzing the results of each, while comparing and contrasting A Sagemont project experience is not complete without continuous real life experiences out of the classroom to make additional connections and a field trip to Butterfly Gardens provide this true learning extension Grounded in our Links to Learning curriculum, students are engaged in: Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Exploration, Creative Expression, Citizens of the World, Social Emotional Learning, and Wellness

Curiosity is essential for our youngest learners. Sagemont’s preschool students explore questions about the world around them every day. Enthusiastic curiosity is fostered through self initiated and playful exploration, where learning occurs naturally Preschool students expand their vocabulary as they use language to describe what they are thinking, seeing, hearing, and experiencing through daily exploration As young Sagemont learners grow, project based learning propels them to enjoy broader, more complex encounters It is never too early to learn the skills of an entrepreneur at Sagemont! Through “Sage’s Little Flower Market,” our young learners work together to create a flower shop Students' skills are fostered in planning, creativity, observation, teamwork, problem solving, and goal setting Our curious young preschoolers will begin to better understand the world around them through their in class flower shop creation. A field trip opportunity to Bedner’s Farm Market enhances this experience and provides an opportunity for real world application. Grounded in our Links to Learning curriculum, students are engaged in: Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Exploration, Creative Expression, Citizens of the World, Social Emotional Learning, and Wellness Kindergarten Curiosity

Responsible risk taking is a core component in Sagemont’s Learning Outcomes. Our students are encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone and discover new possibilities as they approach problems with creativity, perseverance, and grit. Responsible risk taking must start at a young age as this propels our students to become more comfortable with future decision making. Students in 3rd grade are challenged to take educated risks by drawing upon past knowledge to guide their thinking about consequences. As we challenge students to take responsible risks, our extraordinary educators facilitate discussions on embracing failure as an opportunity for the next steps. An emphasis is placed on having a growth mindset and emphasis is placed on “failing forward.”Through this process of understanding and growth, our 3rd graders practice this skill through our Future Engineers project. Students are provided autonomy along with guidance to support designing structurally sound bridges while learning about the forces of nature. Utilizing bridges as a focal point for this project is intentional, as it also guides students in learning about connections for people, places, and resources

Sagemont’s 1st graders will enhance their awareness and perception through observation with no judgment. Students begin to engage in Odyssey of the Mind at this grade level. Odyssey of the Mind teaches students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem solvers. Imagine being faced with a problem that requires an original solution. That’s exactly the process our 1st graders are faced with through our grade level curricular projects. While engaged in the Odyssey of the Mind competition, students experience a robust environment centered around teamwork, leadership, writing, public speaking, and more as they work together to answer open ended questions. As students advance through this grade level, they are additionally tasked with Basic Animal Needs, a project that hones in on being active agents of change. Basic Animal Needs challenges students to find the problem that impacts animals' safety and security. Through a collaborative class project, 1st graders are tasked with establishing viable and practical solutions to the problems they have identified. 1st graders are further challenged to engage the school and local community. Problem finding and problem solving are amazing entrepreneurial skills that are exercised in 1st grade!

Let’s face it, searching for the right fit for college can be confusing and stressful, but not when you are working with a highly trained college counselor like myself. I am dedicated to helping you select the best colleges for your needs, and the classes you can take in high school to help gain admittance into these colleges. This includes taking the time to educate you about colleges you may not have found easily on your own, or colleges you didn’t realize might be a good fit for you. I'll take the time to consider you as a whole person, and not just as a student. This means helping you find a school that’s a great social and personal fit along with stellar academics.
We are excited about our new partnership with the Princeton Review. Please save the date for our upcoming College Workshop with Princeton Review's Editor in Chief, Rob Franek.

Most of my students are 12th graders who are ready to embark on their journey to the real world. I feel the importance of giving them sufficient skills and information to handle things in practical life I work closely with the college counselor to familiarize these students with the college application process, focusing on their writing skills, helping them elaborate their achievements in their resume, and celebrate their accomplishments. In addition to that, I set aside a part of my daily routine to talk to my seniors about college and adult life expectations. Being a mom of two college students, I have an insight into real life expectations of modern day college life, which I share with my students I focus heavily on listening speaking activities My students have an option of and are encouraged to show their understanding of the text by giving an oral presentation. I teach and train them to stand in front of an audience, focus on the clarity of their speech, manage their body language, and adjust the volume and tone of their voice They will be communicating with people in their future, no matter what profession they choose. These skills help them become effective communicators.

Although, literature might seem like a representation of one person’s mind or one society’s view, I ignite curiosity in my students by encouraging them to connect with the text, sympathize and associate with the characters, examine their motives, and put themselves in the character’s shoes. The students analyze the text, do their research, and engage in scholarly conversations in the form of Socratic Seminars The students are not only involved but take the lead in all steps, from choosing the topic to leading the discussion. I also encourage my students to explore different aspects of a text, focus on vocabulary, observe the style, pay attention to the tone, understand the literary terms I always encourage a unique take by each student on the same text that they are reading.
