Visitors flock to the fourth Crab & Lobster Festival
Covering Sheringham, the Runtons, Holt and surrounding villages in association with the Cromer Times and North Walsham Times
Over the weekend of 18 & 19 May a record number of people flocked to the fourth annual Cromer and Sheringham Crab & Lobster Festival.
The skies were at times overcast but the spirit of the Festival saw people turn out in their droves to a crowded Cromer on the Saturday and into a sunny Sheringham on the Sunday.
Local businesses have reported an upsurge in trade with local B&Bs, hotels and caravan parks reporting full houses and return visits specifically for the Festival. Many local businesses have reported one of their busiest weekends of the year. One local cafe in Cromer said “we've had a really busy weekend, it's been absolutely full on in the kitchen!”
Festival president Hilary Cox said “even the grey weather on Saturday didn't dampen the wonderful atmosphere or cool the charisma of the festival, it was a fantastic weekend”. A family visiting the Festival and staying locally said “What are the dates for next year? We want to make

sure we can book in to the B&B in good time”.
With over 40 events, this year’s Festival offered activities and entertainment for all the family across the weekend. The Festival kicked off in style with a sell-out Opening Concert on Cromer Pier on Friday night. Compered by the fabulous Olly Day the audience were treated to finely-crafted folk music by John Conolly, a beautiful display by Marlene’s School of Dance, comedy from Nigel ‘Boy’ Syer and the buoyant sea-side sound of The Sheringham Shantymen.
