On Thursday 18 September we had a very special coffee morning in St Benets Hall, North Walsham. For the first time we had slices of cake made by our fantastic helpers. It is a strange thing that people who are good gardeners are also brilliant cake makers. The range of cakes was amazing and no one knew what anyone else was bringing – congratulations to all who contributed and helped on the day.
That aside, we had a surprise visit from our MP Mr Norman Lamb, who spent about an hour with us and enjoyed coffee and cake as well as talking to everyone in the hall. Our other guest on the day was Gabby Ryan who won the ‘Miss Teen Norfolk 2014’ contest and was good

Over the years, we have always been humbled by the number of people who recommend us to their family and friends.
enough to distribute leaflets in the Market Place and draw our raffle for us. Our thanks go to her for giving us her time and bringing a bit of glamour to St Benets Hall.
So now we are into Autumn Planting and all that it entails. We start on 13 October and this year it will be ‘all hands to the pumps’ for all of us.
We now have several new sites to work on including five new towers as well as Grammar School Road bed. We do, however, also have some additional new helpers from last year and look forward to working with them.
All our helpers really love what we do and the local people seem to do so as well. We very rarely go into town to work without someone putting some money in our hands to help support our work. We are so very grateful as this shows us that we are to some degree getting it right.
See you all for more tea, coffee, scones and cake at the next Coffee Morning which will be in April 2015.
