SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH! Have you lost your card? Do you live outside of Russell County? No problem! During National Library Card Sign-up Month, all replacement and out-of-county library cards are free of charge. THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, SEPT 6. The Library will be closed Monday, September 6th in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Never Forget: 9/11 20th Anniversary Poster Gallery

This educational exhibition recounts the events of September 11, 2001, through the personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks. Told across 14 posters, the “September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World” exhibition includes archival photographs and images of artifacts from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s permanent collection.

What is Beanstack?

Russell County residents of all ages can achieve new goals and discover reading challenges that speak to them with Beanstack! This reading tracker app allows its users to participate in challenges, earn prizes, and so much more.

Why is Beanstack important?

Reading challenges are a simple, high-impact strategy to combat learning loss. When people participate in reading challenges, they also cultivate empathy, experience academic/personal growth, expose themselves to new perspectives/ cultures, and more. As local readers register for Beanstack and participate in challenges, positive change will be seen throughout our community.

Early learners and their adults will explore everyday science topics through books, experiments, and art. Fun and hands-on, this interactive STEM program focuses on exploration, curiosity, and discovery.

RUSSELL COUNTY IMAGINATION LIBRARY Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library can help your child love to read just by having print books at home, reading yourself, and setting aside time daily for your children to read. Every child will have books of their very own, at no cost to you, thanks to Russell County Imagination Library, and Dolly Parton. Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home.

This first session in a four-part series is aimed at developing skills and knowledge about the popular tabletop roleplaying game – Dungeons & Dragons. Using the D&D Beyond website’s character creation tool, participants will learn to create believable, engaging characters they can easily adapt to almost any game/setting.
