WHAT IS SUMMER LEARNING?

Summer Learning is all about keeping our community learning, safe, engaged, and active during the summer months. Summer learning helps kids be ready to succeed when returning to school in the fall. The young people we nurture today are the foundation of our society tomorrow. Creating opportunities for summer learning sets the stage for innovation, creativity, and leadership in every community. We hope you will join us this summer at your Russell County Public Library!

SUMMER LEARNING CHALLENGE

This summer, RCPL encourages everyone to read, read, read! Pick up a Summer Learning Challenge scratch-off card, complete each task, and return for an RCPL-themed prize.

SUMMER LEARNING TREATS

Anyone ages 0-18 who visits, checks out materials, or attends a program this summer can receive a coupon for a free ice cream from Mammy Frog’s Diner or a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut of Russell Springs. One coupon per visit, per child.

Need to relax? Interested in yoga and meditation but not sure where to start? This summer, we will be offering Somatic Yoga with 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Tammy Jo Henry. Somatic yoga allows you to truly relax and get in touch with your mind and body. The movements are gentle (suitable for all levels of ability), and the guided meditations offered are uplifting. A few mats will be available during the class, but if you have your own, feel free to bring them.
