The Library will be closed Thursday, November 23 through Saturday, November 25 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 27th. All due dates will be adjusted. The book drop will remain open for any returns during the closure.

FRI, NOV 17 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM RCPL is excited to partner with the Family Resource Centers of Russell County Schools in hosting Wee School for children ages 3-5! This Kindergarten-readiness program is taught by experienced teachers and is an interactive learning experience for children and their caregiver(s). KIDS (0-8 YEARS) TODDLER TALES

AGES 18 MONTHS - 2 1/2 YEARS EVERY TUESDAY 9:30 AM A fast-paced program for active toddlers. Wiggle, sing, read, play and build up social skills in a fun atmosphere!

BABY STORYTIME AGES 0-18 MONTHS EVERY TUESDAY 10:30 AM

A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregiver(s). Baby Storytime is a 30 minute introduction to the joys of reading and learning in a positive, fun atmosphere!

Join Russell County Extension Office’s Family & Consumer Sciences Agent Megan Gullett and Ms. Ginger for an hour of games, playtime, books, and crafts.

ADULTS (18+) KENTUCKY READS: THE BOOK WOMAN’S DAUGHTER SAT, NOV 11 | 2 PM

Gather with fellow Russell County book lovers to celebrate literature, unite readers, and come together in meaningful discussion transcending boundaries. Made possible by The Austin Chair Fund, RCPL is pleased to announce we will be hosting a Kentucky Reads book discussion featuring Kim Michele Richardson’s The Book Woman’s Daughter. COFFEE WITH VETERANS

Bring a friend and come to the library for an evening stroll. Being part of a walking club can help you stay motivated and boost your health, energy, and mood.

RCPL invites all local veterans to coffee and conversation with Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs Service Officer Donald Walbert, Regional Administrator for Central Region. Come socialize with other veterans, get assistance with filing claims, and meet new people in a comfortable, private space. For more information, contact RCPL at (270) 343-7323.

Silent Book Club is a happy hour for introverts. Bring a book WINTER GATHERING of your choice, then settle in for an hour or two of quiet SIDES reading with fellow book lovers. There are no assigned reading or discussion guides—the “silent” part of our book In partnership with the Russell club—but we like to share book recommendations and meet County Extension Office MON, NOV 13 like-minded readers. 4:30 PM Megan Gullett of the Russell County Extension Office will show you how to make healthy and easy sides using ingredients from your own garden, farmers markets, or the grocery store. Supplies are limited.
