The Holland Patent Central Class of 2020 had a graduation like no other in the school’s history as theirs was a virtual graduation due to COVID-19. On June 20th they completed the celebration with a parade. Pictured above is Meghan Lynskey ride. See Page 8 for more.

With COVID-19 regulations there won’t be as much to do as most firework shows have been cancelled or postponed, like the Utica and Old Forge fireworks. Many people will be turning to their own displays with the legal fireworks that are available for sale in area stores. But there is danger whenever you use fireworks. See Sheriff Macol’s column on Page 2 for safety.

This might be as close as you get to fireworks this 4th of July weekend. This photo was taken at last year’s Floyd Firemen’s Field Day which is cancelled this year. Instead they are holding a Chicken BBQ. See Page 7 for their advertisement.

Revolutionary Heroes’ Marker to be Dedicated On Saturday July 11 at 10:00am the NSDA$ Holland Patent Chapter will dedicate a Historical Road Marker in honor of Revolutionary War Veterans Lt. Colonel Stephen Moulton and son Captain Solomon Moulton.

The marker will be in front of the small cemetery at the family’s homestead site. A grant was given to the Holland Patent Chapter by the Pomeroy Foundation of Syracuse, New York.

Steve Grabowski holds a 21 inch walleye which he caught in June from Oneida Lake . Steve boasted that he boated almost 150 Walleyes so far this season mostly on Oneida Lake but some on Lake Delta. “Usually I was jigging various lures and I’ll a have worm and spinner dragging as I drift.”
