The Autumn of 2020 was an outstanding year for colored leaves. This year it has been a challenge to find any color at all.

News reports say that it is because of a wet summer and a wet Autumn that has led to the leaves not changing into a riot of color. Reports also claim that once the leaves dry out, the color will return.

Durant Lunch Tour a Success The Steuben Senior Citizens had a great trip to Raquette for the WW Durant Lunch Tour on Wednesday Sept 29th, 2021.

The weather was clear and the foliage was just turning so the greens were mixed in with the fall leaf colors. We had a wonderful time, the food was excellent and we learned many things about the Lake and its history. Remsen Steuben Historical Society to Hold Take-Out Dinner October 31 The Remsen Steuben Historical Society for 18 years has been hosting a dinner theater which has evolved into our major fundraiser and an impressively anticipated community event.

This year we hoped COVID was behind us and the show would go on, but sadly that is not to be. Once again, due to COVID-19, we will regretfully be unable to host this event as we have been.

Still the bills need to be paid and our beloved churches continue to require upkeep and another takeout meal will be served!

The Roast Pork dinner with all the trimmings will be sold takeout style on Sunday October 31 at the Steuben Town Hall from 1200 until the food is gone. The cost is $15.00 per meal.

Pretty much every hunter I know has several if not a dozen.

They have come an long ways in the last 20 years. The first ones were big and bulky.

ers used up to 8 “D” cell batteries. Since they used actual film, the batteries were responsible for advancing the film roll and powering the strobe like flash. If your batteries lasted 2 weeks you were lucky.

Now they use “AA” or “AAA” batteries, infrared LED flashes and shoot direct to a memory card. The batteries usually will last a full season now.

Now you can even have the cameras send pictures directly to your phone within a minute or 2 off being taken.

I personally use this feature to hunt coyotes in the winter time.

Some hunters will use tail cameras to try to pattern a buck they want to hunt. It can give them an idea of what time or how often it goes through an area. Others just like to use them for some confidence that there are animals they want to target in the area. Some guys even concentrate more on their cameras than they do actually hunting. Personally, I like to use cameras for all of those reasons.

On an interesting note, earlier this year, Arizona banned the use of trail cameras year round. Apparently water supplies are so short in Arizona that water holes would be overrun with cameras causing Hunter conflicts and also an unfair advantage to see which water holes the game was using.

Almost as exciting as getting a picture of a big buck on camera is getting different species on your cameras.

Besides Deer and all the annoying Squirrels and song birds, I’ve gotten Moose, Bear, Fox, Fisher, Pine Marten, Coyote and Bobcats….. I’ve even got other hunters. Some that were supposed to be there and others that weren’t.

Singing Hills Seniors GOOD NEWS - Seniors have been given the go ahead to start gathering again. We will have our usual cards, games, and coffee and you are welcome to bring snacks. For the time being we will not have any in-house luncheons. We hope to begin other activities as soon as we are able. PROOF OF COVID VACCINE WILL BE REQUIRED. NO EXCEPTIONS. We are now collecting dues for the year. All members will be asked to fill out a new application and medical form so that the information is correct. Our dues will be pro-rated for 2021. Town of Trenton residents will be $4 and non-residents will be $8 each (1/2 of your annual dues.) WELCOME BACK. We will be continuing our newsletter and remember that our newsletter is available on the Town of Trenton website for easy reference.

We are continuing our monthly 50-50 drawings and appreciate your participation. We are also still collecting pull tabs, stamps, Campbells labels and labels for education. These items may be dropped off at the Town Offices.

There will be a Retirement Appreciation Luncheon for June and Charlie Prevost, celebrating their years of service as the Director and Assistant Director of the Singing Hills Seniors. ROME OLYMPIC ATHLETES On Wednesday October 20, 2021 @ 5:30 PM Rome Historical Society (RHS) will present Rome Olympic Athletes, a virtual program available at https://www.facebook.com/romehistorical.

Since 1977 Rome Sports Hall of Fame (RSHF) has annually inducted local athletes, coaches, and sports personalities into their Hall of Fame. Alongside the Hall of Fame, they have a museum exhibiting local sports artifacts and memorabilia at their facility located at 5790 Rome New London Road. RHS has coordinated with RSHF to present a program on the talented athletes who have made their way from Rome, NY to the Olympic Games.

RSHF Executive Director, David Sbaraglia, will talk about the Rome Olympic athletes and showcase corresponding artifacts on display at the Sports Hall of Fame. All donations received on the RHS Facebook or the RHS website between the 18th and 22nd of October will go to RSHF. On Friday, October 15 Unity Hall is pleased to present “The Linda Ronstadt Experience” in the Hall’s first indoor concert since the pandemic shutdown. The show features the impressive vocal stylings of Tristan McIntosh (2016 American Idol finalist) in her convincing tribute to Linda Ronstadt, one of American music’s most beloved and popular female vocalists.

The concert begins at 8pm upstairs on the main stage at Unity Hall, 101 Vanderkemp Ave, Barneveld.

The Linda Ronstadt Experience is a musical journey of smash hits "You're No Good', "When will I Be Loved", "That'll Be The Day", "Blue Bayou" and many more. This repertoire spans from Linda's early days with The Stone Poneys, the 1970's where she helped forge the "Country-Rock Sound" with classic renditions of songs by The Eagles, Jackson Brown, Warren Zevon, and into the '80s where she bridged the "New Wave Sound" into huge hits with her chart-topping tenth album "Mad Love”. The Linda Ronstadt Experience’s live shows also include material by The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Little Feet, and other contemporaries of the day.

2021 Camroden Wednesday Men’s League Champions Congratulations to the team of Bob (Wilbur) Shepard, Dave Morrison, Tom Heburn, Tim Heburn and Bob Fay. League champions were crowned after a playoff with the team of Jeff Alberico, Jeff Nowicki, Bill Heaney and Bill Owen. The match went to the last hole with Shepard’s team winning by 2 strokes, a very exciting finish to the season.

The Tom McMahon Award for most individual points with perfect attendance was shared by Tom Heburn and Chris Misner, both with 105.50 points.

Floyd Grange Holds Scone Baking Contest The Floyd Grange held its Scone Baking Contest at the September 14 meeting. Christine Anken won First Place with her “Hungry Man Scones.” Janice Grunewald received second place, with Kathleen Hughes receiving third, and Bonnie LaSalle came in fourth. Jenile Seelman judged the entries, assisted by her husband, Al. As the local winner, Anken will send her scones to compete in the State Grange Contest that will be held at State Grange Session in Corning on October 16.

Michael B. McBride Joyce Dalene Smith Michael B. McBride passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021, after a long illness. He was born on December 8, 1961, in Kittery, Maine, the son of Neil and Joan McBride. Michael graduated from Holland Patent High School in 1980 and was active in the Navy from 1984-1988, spending most of that time stationed in Newport, Rhode Island. Michael was employed by the Walmart Distribution Center for 22 years.

He also had a welding business for many years. Michael loved snowmobiling, hunting, camping and NASCAR. He was always known to be a kind, gentle person who didn’t have a mean bone in his body but loved having fun. He will be greatly missed.

Michael is survived by his children, Brandin McBride of Rome, NY, Clifford McBride of Newport, North Carolina and Haley McBride of Floyd, NY; his father, Neil McBride of Floyd, NY; his sister, Julie McBride of Holland Patent; nieces, Lindsey Johnston (Jordan Johnston), Taylor Doolittle and Madeline Mason; and nephew, Jordan Doolittle (Liz Doolittle); five great-nephews and a great-niece, whom he loved being with and reading stories to. He also leaves many cherished family members in Pennsylvania whom he loved dearly. Pennsylvania always held a special place in his heart.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Joan McBride on September 21, 2015, and his sister Mary Jo McBride on October 29, 2017.

A graveside service will be held on October 23, 2021, at the Townsend Cemetery in Stittville, NY at 1 p.m. and family and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Ryan E. Bridge Utica/Holland Patent Ryan E. Bridge 42, of Utica and formerly of Holland Patent passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Abraham House in Utica.

He was born on August 16, 1979 in Utica a son of Bruce Bridge and the late Joan Newell. Ryan was employed as an Automobile Body repairman for many local auto body shops including Twin Cities Collision in Utica, Jays Auto in Utica and also for John Crossley.

He is survived by his father Bruce Bridge of Prospect, his siblings, Scott (Carol) Bridge, Tracy Bridge, Marcia Peckham, Travis Bridge, Kayla Bridge, Jessica Bridge, Tina and Russell Vansteen, Wendy Howe and Pauline Howe. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Joan Newell in 2004, his biological father Paul Howe and sister Kimberly Inman.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the Staff of the Abraham House in Utica for the wonderful care and compassion given to Ryan during his stay there.

Posted Saturday, October 2, 2021 12:00 pm Joyce Dalene Smith, 89, of Floyd, NY, passed away in the loving presence of her daughters on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Joyce was born in Coffins Mills, NY, on July 28, 1932.

She graduated from Clifton-Fine High School at the age of 16. Joyce achieved her R.N. from A.B. Hepburn School of Nursing. For many years, Joyce was a dedicated nurse at Rome Memorial Hospital. She struck that delicate balance between work and family by living her lifelong mantra “we all work and then we all play.”

Joyce and her husband Merton enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 67 years. Fun activities were always in their lives.

They enjoyed pool parties, volleyball, playing cards, golf, bocce, skiing, snowmobiling, neighborhood celebrations and family get-togethers. They loved to dance and sing, and never stopped adoring each other. As she reflected upon her life, Joyce could be heard saying “Mert, we had a good run.”

Joyce was joyous and caring. She saw the best in everyone and sincerely made them feel special. She could talk with anyone and garner what is important, even when meeting new acquaintances. Joyce was welcoming and treated everyone as a family. She was always a keen listener and she could converse about anything.

She loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Amah’s” presence in their lives was of paramount importance to every one of them.

Joyce was a faithful member of the Floyd United Methodist Church. Church members were close friends to Joyce and were central in her life.

She was predeceased by her parents, Merle and Lewis Wiggins; and grandson, Christopher Berkery.

Surviving are her loving husband, Merton Smith; daughters, Debra (Randy) Williams and Darcy (Bill) Berkery; grandchildren, Sarah (David) Pisacich, Kalah (Brent) Arsenault, William (Carol) Berkery, John Berkery and Matthew Berkery; great-grandchildren, Michael and Ethan Pisacich, Emma, Abby and Oliver Arsenault; brother, Douglas (Maria) Wiggins; sister-in-law, Betty DeCora; and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, there will be no formal services. The family would like to thank Joyce’s caregivers for their compassion and loving care.

Julie Ann Jones Barneveld – Julie Ann Jones, 80, of Wood Road passed away October 4, 2021 unexpectedly at home.

She was born on August 21, 1941 in Prospect, NY a daughter of Harold and Marion Hannahs Newman.

She was united in marriage to Wallace Jones on January 22, 1958 in Newport, NY. The couple moved to Wood Road in 1964. He passed away on April 29, 2016. Julie worked as a clerk at the Barneveld Post Office for over 25 years. She enjoyed family celebrations, in later years she and Wallace summered on the St. Lawrence River in Cape Vincent, enjoying fishing, boating and cocktail hour with their neighbors.

You could always count on the fridge being stocked with wine and the fresh catch of the day. Julie also was an avid bowler and enjoyed cooking, going to the casino and a good pitch game.

Surviving are her children, Shirley and Ralph Potasiewicz, Cold Brook, Robert Jones, Holland Patent, Nelson and Tammy Jones, Cold Brook; grandchildren, Kendra Potasiewicz and fiancé Josh Monahan, Saratoga Springs, Nathan Jones, Cold Brook, Jack and Jessica Potasiewicz, naval air station, Rota, Spain; great grandchildren, Ralph and Hazel Potasiewicz; two sisters, Rose and Ron Przelski, Gravesville, NY and Grace and Bob Lehman, Cold Brook, NY and two brothers-in-law, John Murphy, New Port, NY and Bill Hughes, N. Stonington, CT. Besides her husband Wallace Julie is predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Jones, 6-19-14, sisters, Katherine Murphy, Dorothy Hughes, sister-in-law, Deb Murphy, nephews, Ronald Przelski and Jason Murphy and great nephew, Josh Murphy.

Julie was able to enjoy the last years of her life at home because of the selfless care of her son, Robert (Robby). Her family will ever be indebted to Robby for the patient, loving care that he provided.

Eileen G. Walker, 62, of Utica passed away on September 18, 2021 unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

She was born on November 15, 1958 in Utica, the daughter of the late Gardner A. and Rosalie M. (Cady) Walker. She attended Remsen Central School. She was last employed by MVCC in the Dietary Department.

Eileen was devoted to her family and loved her children.

She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, niece, aunt, greataunt and friend. Eileen was a die-hard Elvis fan and loved everything Elvis. She also loved Disney and dolphins. Eileen was known for taking pictures and videos of her family and friends at every opportunity.

She is survived by her children, John P. Siringo Jr of Utica and Stacy M. Siringo of Utica; three sisters, Joyce Fransman of Cold Brook, Alison Grimshaw of Cold Brook, and Sheila (Edward) McOwen of Remsen; three sisters-inlaws, Lisa Walker of Columbus, OH., Christine Walker of Remsen, Kelly Walker of Rochester; uncles, aunts, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her ex-husband and good friend, John Siringo, parents, grandparents, three brothers, Ralph Walker, Gardner Allen Walker II., and Wade Walker, as well as two brothers-in-laws Robert Fransman and Gary Grimshaw.

Ms. Walker’s funeral service were held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro, Street, Utica, NY. Calling hours took place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m prior to services. Following the services, friends and family were asked join Eileen's family to celebrate her life at the American Legion, 409 Herkimer Rd, Utica, NY.

Mary E. Seaton, 71, of Westernville, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Rome Health. She was born in Rome on August 14, 1950, a daughter of the late Walter and Virginia (Kerber) Seaton, Sr. Mary was born with cerebral palsy and did not let that get her down. All her struggles in life she met with determination to not let it define her. She touched the lives of all who met her.

She was happy and outgoing.

Mary loved going to the casino and the New York State Fair, where she loved to play “I Got It.” She enjoyed doing jigsaw and wordsearch puzzles, along with playing BINGO and Sorry.

Mary was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by four sisters, Marsha and Roger Moreland, Elaine Seaton, Betty and Claire Fields and Holly Seaton; three brothers, Walter Jr., Richard and Tammy, and David Seaton; five nieces, Tiffany Fields, Michele Baranowski, Amanda Seaton, Jody Perry and Chelsea Moreland; a nephew, John Morris; a great-niece, Tapanga; and three great-nephews, Jonathan, Logan and Hunter.

Mary’s family would like to offer their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff at Rome Health Residential HCF for their wonderful care and compassion. They’d like to express a very special thank you to Audrey and Denise for their loving one on one attention shown Mary.

George C. Longway George C. Longway, 73, of Castle Road, Newport, died on October 6, 2021 at MVHS St. Luke’s Campus.

Mr. Longway was born on December 4, 1947 in Watertown, a son of the late Leon and Eleanor (Williams) Longway. He received his education from West Canada Valley Central School and South Lewis Central School, where he graduated in 1966. In September of 1967, he entered the U. S. Army and served during the Vietnam War, where he received many commendations including the Bronze Star Medal. He was honorably discharged in June of 1969 at the rank of SP4(T). On August 1, 1970, George was united in marriage with the former Joan E. Bauer at Forest Presbyterian Church, Lyons Falls. George was a lifelong farmer; he enjoyed gardening and was referred to as the “Potato Man” by the local food pantries. A more recent interest was woodworking.

He enjoyed making and gifting bird houses, cutting boards and cabinets.

Mr. Longway was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #827, and the Newport United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his time spent with Walk to Emmaus, Closer Walk, Via de Cristo, and ACT Prison Ministries. He loved the fishing trips he had with his grandchildren and was willing to lend anyone a helping hand.

Survivors besides his wife of 51 years, Joan, include 4 children, Kevin Longway of Salisbury, Angela Longway (Thomas Warg) of Olive Bridge, and Valerie Lyga and Cara (Duane) Briggs, all of Newport; four siblings, Delbert (Polly) Longway of Salisbury, Sandra (Fred) Eckmair of Leesburg, FL, and Guy Longway and Ruby Longway, both of Newport; ten grandchildren, Kevin Longway (Heather Randall), Shawn Longway (Kristy Robellard), Justina (Brian) Hart, Phoenix and Brody Longway, Nathan, Kelsey and Alissa Lyga, Foster Knoche, and Ethan Briggs; five great-grandchildren, Carson, Kole and baby to be Longway, Dakota Hart and Kayden Randall; he also leaves his brother and sisters –in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, cows, and cats. George also leaves his extended family at the church, Walk to Emmaus, Closer Walk, Via de Cristo, and his fellow veterans. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by an infant son, Kyle James Longway; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Longway; a son-in-law Michael Lyga; a grandson, Michael G. Lyga; and his father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Mabel Bauer.

Funeral services were held at the Autenrith Funeral Home and at the Newport United Methodist Church with Pastor Zondra Coffin, officiating. Interment followed in Middleville Rural Cemetery where military honors will be conferred by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Calling hours at the Autenrith Funeral Home, 7479 Main Street, Newport are Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Helen M. Golden POLAND – Helen M. Golden, 87, of Brayton Road, died unexpectedly on September 28, 2021 at MVHS St. Luke’s Campus, New Hartford.

Mrs. Golden was born on December 15, 1933 in the Town of Deerfield, a daughter of the late Harry and Marjorie (Mykel) Schrider. She worked on the family farm from an early age and graduated from Poland Central School in 1952. On April 28, 1956, Helen was united in marriage with Samuel D. Golden at the Community Baptist Church of Poland. The couple acquired the Schrider family farm which they operated until the passing of Sam on August 5, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Golden (Luis Torres) of Poland and Jeffery (Lianne) Golden of Utica; one sister, Rose (Kenneth) Bush of St. Cloud, FL; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her canine companion “Puggie”. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Harold Schrider.

The Golden family extends their sincere appreciation to Lorie Lynch for her acts of kindness.

Funeral service were held at Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Marianne Victor officiating. Interment followed in North Gage Cemetery. Calling hours were prior to the funeral.

TOWN OF NORWAY- James F. Stanley, 65, of Hurricane Rd., died unexpectedly on October 1, 2021 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse.

Jim was born on July 4, 1956 in Herkimer, a son of the late Gerald Stanley and Evelyn Miller. He grew up in Gray, NY and attended Poland Central School where he graduated in 1975 with the "Dirty Dozen".

Jim worked as a truck driver for 40+ years. After retiring from Hanson Aggregates, he finally followed his dream and became an owner/operator of his own trucking business. He loved what he did and was a trucker through and through. All who knew him knew they could find him in his truck or in his garage washing and polishing. When he wasn't washing and polishing he was working on a project, restoring Jeeps, Husski’s, or painting something for someone. If he wasn't working you could find him going for his ride and checking in with everyone, and if it was a Sunday you could usually find him at "Benson's Church".

Survivors include the love of his life, Terri Victor; a daughter, Kassi Stanley (Bob) of Herkimer, Gene " Punky" (Teresa) Carnright of Cold Brook, Seth "Big Boy" (Amy) Nightingale, of the Town of Ohio, Jonathan "Muff"(Amanda) Nightingale of Cold Brook, Laci (Mike) Gokey of Cold Brook; ten grandchildren, Catianne, Julianne James, Jakub, Gracie, Rosie, Noah, Jaxson, Mason, Chase, and Barre; a brother, Ronald (Mae) Stanley of Ilion; longtime friends, Scoob, Master, Big Man ,Mr B.(Eeb), Weasie, Cliffy... and the list goes on and on.

If you could ever measure a man's wealth by his amount of friends, Jim was a millionaire. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, David Stanley, his "other" father, Dean Mallory, and friend, Fran Foley.

Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Natalie M. “Nat” Rickard, 92, of Church Street, Prospect, passed away on September 14, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.

Mrs. Rickard was born on February 14, 1929 in Ava, a daughter of the late Bronislaw and Kazmira (Janiszewski) Pogonowski. She graduated from Poland Central School in 1947 and furthered her education in NYC where she became a Registered Nurse. On April 19, 1952, Natalie was united in marriage with Francis H. Rickard at St. John's Church, Newport, a union that lasted over 68 years. After raising her family she worked at the Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, as a Nursing Supervisor until she retired in 1986. Francis preceded her in death on September 17, 2020.

Mrs. Rickard was a member of the former St. Ann’s Church, Hinckley. She was a loving mother and grandmother. It was a privilege to know such a great woman that valued her family and community. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and traveling.

Survivors, include five children, David Rickard of Prospect; Sandy (Randy) Cravis of Lee Center, Ellen (Ed) DeMatteo of Bushnell, FL, Brenda (Brian) Bowlds of Minden, NV and Barry (Connie) Rickard of Horseheads; five grandchildren, Josh Rickard, John and Nick DeMatteo, Casmira (Blake) Lee and Alison Rickard; two sisters, Zenonia Zieniewicz of Ilion and Irene Bouck of Frankfort; a brother, Wally (Alice) Pogonowski of Cold Brook; a brother-in-law, Ward Rickard, of the Town of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Francis, Natalie was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Benjamin Pogonowski; and four sisters, Vicki Cane, Jane Cook, Amelia Pogonowski and Loretta Rommel.

A graveside service was held at Prospect Cemetery.

Frank E. Salisbury, III NEWPORT – Frank E. Salisbury, III, 83, of Graves Road, died unexpectedly on September 26, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Salisbury was born on December 15, 1937 in North Kingstown, RI, a son of the late Frank and Marion (Gardiner) Salisbury.

He graduated from North Kingstown High School and served in the National Guard for a few years. Frank graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor degree and earned his Master’s at the University of New Hampshire. He first taught school in New Hampshire and then for 25 years as a Health and Science teacher at Poland Central School. On July 14, 1979, Frank was united in marriage with the former M. Sue LaPointe at their home in Newport. Following retirement from teaching, he was a self-employed contractor for ten years.

Frank was a former member of the Kuyahoora Valley Ambulance Corps and served as Codes Enforcer for the Town of Newport for a few years.

Survivors besides his wife, Sue, include three daughters, Marnie Salisbury and her husband, Greg Roszyk of Great Falls, VA, Nori Hibbard of West Winfield, and Nicola Salisbury of Simsbury, CT; three stepchildren, Coleen (Chad) DaBiere of Rexford, Heather (Eric) Koenig of Barneveld and Brian (Heather) Marshall, stationed with the U. S. Army in Hawaii; nine grandchildren, Gregory Roszyk, Jr., Lance and Olivia Hibbard, Austin and Luke DaBiere, Katie and Ivan Woodward and Clifford and Thomas Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by two brothers, Gardiner and Phillip Salisbury; and a sister, June MacDonald.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Newport Masonic Temple, 7408 Main Street, Newport on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 p. m.

David J. Randazzo David J. Randazzo of Alder Creek, 62, husband of Diane, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St Luke’s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. David was born in Little Falls, on April 10, 1959, where he grew up and graduated from Little Falls High School. While in high school he enjoyed playing on the Football team. For many years he helped at his father’s bakery, Dandy Donuts of Little Falls.

After high school he went to Wyoming to work on Oil Rigs, before returning to New York where he owned D.J.’s Bar and moved to the Alder Creek area. For 36 years he was employed as a sheet metal fabricator in the construction of toll booths and other metal structures for Austin Mohawk of Utica. On July 24, 2004, David was united in marriage with Diane Hitzeroth, in Alder Creek. This was the continuation of a loving relationship which began in 1982.

David was a talented wood worker, carpenter and craft maker, who enjoyed working in his woodshop; he also found much enjoyment in hunting and trapping. In addition to his wife, Diane, David is survived by his children, Jason (Maegan), Remsen, NY, Christy (Josh) Jacobsen, Dodgeville, WI; grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Lucas, Colton, Weston and Aubrie; brothers and sisters, Donald Randazzo (Joanne Mosher), Joseph Randazzo (Heather), Kathy Perkins, (Skip), Misty Bowen (Patrick), Yvonne Perry (Robert) and LaCinda (David) Wright. He was predeceased by his parents; his biological father, David Daley, mother, Mildred (Gillen) Randazzo and adopted father, Joseph Randazzo and one sister, Theresa Austin. Also surviving is a brother in law, David Austin.

Relatives and friends attended a Celebration of David’s life at the family residence. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.

The Happy Haggs have performed at many entertaining public gatherings locally, and are a huge success on social media’s Face Book.

The Happy Haggs is a private group of amateur, volunteer women and girls. We bring Joy through the Magic of dance throughout Central New York, USA by wearing crazy, colorful costumes. We dance and laugh and act a little silly; okay we act a lot silly, especially our cackling contests. We never charge a fee. We dance at public events, nursing homes, parades, local community events, and many more. We are loved by our fans with whom we interact and tease incessantly. Before Covid, we had lots of selfies with our fans. From 2017 through 2019 we raised donations for local charities totaling over $4000. Covid-19 stopped us in our dance steps in 2020 but our Hagg sisters supported one another through the pandemic so we are ready to get out there for 2021. We no longer dance for donations but are happy to come out and perform at public events just for fun. We wish to bring smiles and joy to every heart.
