What is Curriculum? Curriculum is the instructional and the educative program for the students to achieve their goals ,ideals and

aspirations. It is the planned interaction of students with instructional content ,materials, resources, and processes for evaluating the attainment of educational objectives. A curriculum can be described as a plan of action, or a written document which covers strategies for success toward the desired goal. Curriculum planning includes content, organization and opportunities to create a good learning will be easily realized by the teacher. It also includes lesson plan , teaching preparation ,syllabus, semester, annual programs, selection of teaching materials and strategies. Curriculum implementation includes learning management activities , classroom management and learning process. Curriculum Assessment includes evaluation of the curriculum , formative evaluation , summative evaluation ,monthly test and class tests etc. Curriculum aims to develop moral character and personal discipline. It encourages creative and critical thinking. It broadens scientific and technological knowledge and also promote respect for human right. It teaches the duties of citizenship and strengthen ethical and spiritual values. The main objective of the curriculum is to improve student’s skills for better outcomes. It describes behavior to be attained in a particular unit, a subject/ course or particular program. Innovative curriculum is fundamentally different way of doing things that results in considerably better outcomes. It leads to different learning experience that result in significantly and substantially better learning outcomes . It includes creative teaching, audio-video tools, real-world learning, brain strom, puzzles and games, out side classes, role-play, story board teaching, stimulating classroom environment and introduction of school clubs. What is the importance of curriculum ? The curriculum ensures that each school teaching students relevant material and monitoring the progress of students from all types of backgrounds . Curriculum is essentially a series of activities and learning outcomes goals related to each subject . All curriculum share one goal: to help students to learn. The curriculum development is done in view to realize the objectives of education .Thus the curriculum is the means for achieving the educational objectives. An effective curriculum teachers, students, administrators and community stakeholders with a measurable plan and structure for delivering a quality education. Finally, curriculum is known as the heart of education.
