Finding your AV

In the February 2017 issue I stressed the importance of organising your les and folders in a clear and logical way, to make nding your stuff easy. Sometimes I watch lecturers or competition organisers ploughing through the le trees to nd the right AV to play. This doesn't look very professional. Occasionally you can see the problem, there are several les with the same le name, maybe the music track, the PTE project, as well as the actual AV. Which is which? The default setting on many computers seems to be for Windows to "hide known le extensions".

It is best to uncheck this box. Tools  Folder options  View  Hide extensions for known le types (Figure 1 left) so that you can see which is the "*.wav" le, which is the "*.pte" project le, and which is the one you want, the "*.exe" le (Figure 2 below)
