I am Melcolm van der Spuy, your editor for this year's edition of STNOFSIE. At 23, I recognize that I am a relatively young tabler, having been part of this remarkable journey for just three years. It is truly an honor and a privilege to hold this position, and I am committed to bringing you a magazine that reflects the spirit and dynamism of our community.
A bit about myself: I was born in Klerksdorp in 2001 and have lived here my entire life. My journey has been a tapestry of experiences, not all of them positive. During my teenage years at Klerksdorp High School, I fell into the wrong crowd, leading me down a path I am not proud of. For three years, I engaged in activities that steered me away from a fulfilling life. However, a pivotal moment came when I realized the need to change.
Transitioning to a new way of life was not easy. It required me to let go of everything I knew and embrace the unknown. It was during this kak period that my nephew, Russel affectionately known as "Russel the Love Muscle" invited me to a Round Table meeting. Initially, I was skeptical, fearing it might be some kind of cult. But to my surprise, it was anything but.
Joining Round Table Matlosane 45 turned out to be a transformative experience. It provided me with a sense of community and the opportunity to learn from other young men about leading a balanced and purposeful life. Since then, I have immersed myself in the activities and responsibilities of the Round Table, serving as the IRO/PRO for Matlosane 45 and the IRO on the STNOFS Council in 2022-2023, followed by the role of STNOFS Area PRO in 2024-2025.
For those unfamiliar, the STNOFS (Southern Transvaal, Northen Orange Free State) area is a vibrant part of the Round Table Southern Africa organization. Our mission is to develop young men into responsible citizens and leaders who contribute positively to their communities.
Round Table Matlosane 45, my home table, has a rich history of community service and camaraderie just like the other 6 tables in our area. Our projects range from local charity drives to larger regional initiatives, all aimed at making an actual difference in the lives of those around us.
Our community service projects have left a lasting impact on many. One such project was our annual winter blanket drive, where we distributed over 500 blankets to those in need. Hearing the heartfelt gratitude from recipients reaffirmed our commitment to service. We also organized a youth mentorship program, connecting young people with role models who can guide them towards a brighter future.
These projects are not just about giving back; they are about building a stronger, more connected community. We are proud of the work we do and the positive change we bring.
As your editor, my vision for STNOFSIE this year is to harness the power of technology and bring our community closer together. Social media has revolutionized the way we communicate, and I aim to leverage this platform to showcase our work and values to a broader audience. This year, we are taking a significant step forward by going digital. The STNOFSIE magazine will be accessible worldwide, ensuring that our reach extends beyond geographical boundaries. Of course, we will continue to produce hard copies for our members to cherish as lasting mementos.
A heartfelt thank you to every tabler who contributed to the first edition of the Wild West STNOFSIE. Your dedication and timely submissions of great stories have made this possible. Together, we can create meaningful change in a country where standing up for yourself and your community is crucial. Reflecting on my journey, I have learned that true leadership comes from service and a willingness to learn from others
For new members or those considering joining, my advice is simple: embrace the opportunities that come your way, learn from your peers, and never underestimate the impact you can have. The future is bright for STNOFS and Round Table . With our collective efforts, we will continue to grow, learn, and make a difference. I look forward to sharing more stories, experiences, and achievements with you through STNOFSIE.
Thank you for your support, and here’s to a year of growth, learning, and camaraderie.
Yours in tabling STNOFS PRO

Nepal, Round Table International recently held its Half Year Meeting, embarking on a journey guided by the theme UNITED IN DIVERSITY." This theme encapsulates the essence of RTI and underscores its commitment to harnessing diversity as a catalyst for community service and prosperity worldwide.
At the heart of RTI lies a team of dedicated gentlemen hailing from 12 different nations, each contributing their unique skills and perspectives to the collective mission. Leading this diverse ensemble is a profound honor, recognizing each member’s pivotal role in advancing the organization's objectives. The team's reports presented during the meeting showcase the remarkable progress achieved thus far and offer a glimpse into future endeavours.
Central to this year's agenda is fortifying existing associations within the RTI network. We have identified associations with declines in membership and initiated discussions with RT Italy, RT France, RT Switzerland, and RT Southern Africa. Through questionnaires and productive discussions during their national board meetings, we aim to understand the changes since last year and propose measures for improvement. Two more associations are in the process of being approached for similar discussions Additionally, we are working on levelling tablers with specific skill sets through various RT University Programs and direct communication on a club and area level. Administratively, significant strides have been made, including the closure of the OVF entity in Mauritius and the establishment of a new entity under Luxembourg law. The foundation RT Cares is nearing fruition, with the onboarding of directors and RT
Family members. Efforts to garner support for RT Cares through strategic branding and engagement initiatives are underway, signaling a new chapter in RTI's philanthropic endeavours.
A visit to the Netherlands provided an opportunity to collaborate with the upcoming RTI World Meeting convening team in Maastricht, promising an event of unparalleled significance. Additionally, joint board meetings with Ladies Circle International underscored the synergistic partnership between the two organizations, amplifying their collective impact on a global scale. Meanwhile, the RTI University continues to advance its educational initiatives, with plans for an online Secretary Training module and tailored learning opportunities for member associations. Tabler World, an integral platform for member engagement, is poised for further enhancements, including implementing a prospect management tool to streamline membership recruitment efforts.
It's truly heartening to witness the collaborative efforts and shared experiences among the members of the RT Family. Your participation in our RTIHYM event in Nepal has been invaluable, and we extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Together, we've embraced adventure and exploration and fostered bonds that transcend borders and cultures. Your presence has enriched our gathering, and we look forward to continuing this journey of camaraderie and discovery together. Thank you for being a part of this memorable experience. As RTI navigates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, its resilience and adaptability remain steadfast, underscoring the fraternity's enduring legacy of unity in diversity. Amidst transitions in leadership, departing councilor's are acknowledged for their invaluable contributions, paving the way for a new era of friendship and service .
As the AGM season approaches, the RTI Board eagerly anticipates the opportunity to attend gatherings across the globe. Regardless of our roles or backgrounds, we are all tablers united in our commitment to service and fellowship. Let's come together as equals, share in the camaraderie, and raise a glass to the bonds that unite us. Cheers to the spirit of Round Table International! As we reflect on the journey thus far, one thing remains abundantly clear: RTI's diversity is its greatest strength, uniting tablers around the world in a shared commitment to service, fellowship, and mutual respect. In embracing this diversity, RTI stands poised to realize its vision of a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.

Our "Side by Side" project is a beacon of collaboration and unity. Imagine the power of all our family members coming together for service projects and membership drives. It's not just about working alongside each other; it's about weaving our experiences, strengths, and passions into a shared journey that amplifies our impact and enriches our connections.
Dur clubs are not just social groups but chapters in a lifelong adventure of service and camaraderie. For the gentlemen, the journey begins with the Round Table, where men under 40 come together to make a difference. As the clock strikes 40, they transition to the 41 Club International, carrying forward their legacy of service and friendship. For the ladies, the adventure starts with the Ladies Circle, a vibrant community for women under 45. As they reach this milestone, they embrace the Tangent Club International, continuing their path of service and sisterhood. This seamless transition ensures that our members always have a place where they belong and can continue to grow, serve, and connect, ensuring the vitality and legacy of our clubs.
This year, we have a special reason to celebrate: we congratulate Louis Radley from RT South Africa, who has been elected as the next AMI Chairman for 2024/25. Louis’s journey is a testament to the leadership and spirit that thrive within our community. We look forward to his leadership as he takes the helm in September 2024 in The Netherlands, continuing the legacy of service and fellowship that defines us.
In the spirit of service, let's not forget that March is "Blood Month," when we encourage our members and the wider community to donate blood. This selfless act is a profound gesture of giving life, reflecting the core values that unite us as a family of service organizations. Your donation can save lives, demonstrating the impact we can make when we come together for a noble cause.
As we share stories, celebrate achievements, and embark on service projects side by side, we reinforce the bonds that make our family of clubs so special. Our journey is not just about the service we provide but about the friendships we foster, the lives we touch, and the legacy we build together. Let's continue to stand side by side in service, friendship, and making a difference. After all, that's what family is all about.

’Round Table Southern Africa is thrilled to announce the official adoption of "Don't Camo Yourself" as an Association alignment project! This incredible initiative was spearheaded by Daniel White from Round Table Great Britain and Ireland, and we are forever grateful for his vision and dedication. We would also like to extend a huge shout-out to Karlos O'Neill, Chris Bogdan, Duncan Morris, Carlos Betancourt, and all others in the Round Table International universe who are working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of men. "Don't Camo Yourself" is a powerful movement that aims to break down barriers and encourage men to speak openly about their mental health. By sharing our stories and struggles, we can support one another and create a ripple effect of positivity and change. Let's make a difference, together!
The proposed "Don't Camo Yourself" initiative seeks to build upon our existing partnership with the Men's Foundation while expanding the scope of our efforts to include a holistic approach to male health. The following key points illustrate the rationale behind this proposal:
Comprehensive Approach: Mental health issues among men have gained significant attention, necessitating a broader scope of initiatives. By incorporating physical health alongside mental health under the "Don't Camo Yourself" initiative, we aim to address the multifaceted aspects of male health.
Flexibility and Sustainability: Renaming the initiative provides flexibility in partnering with various organizations beyond the Men's Foundation while ensuring sustainability and continuity of our efforts without the need for frequent project overhauls.
International Expansion: The "Don't Camo Yourself" initiative is designed to extend beyond regional boundaries, allowing for international collaboration and amplification of our advocacy efforts.
Awareness and Fund Allocation: Emphasizing the importance of raising awareness, any funds raised through donations, item sales, or pledges of support will be allocated to the selected beneficiary, aligning with our commitment to championing men's health issues.
Proposed Actions:
Alignment Period: The "Don't Camo Yourself" initiative will coincide with the month of November, serving as the activation month, but will also encourage participation throughout the year through various activities such as sporting events, meetings, and lectures.
Partnership and Participation: While maintaining our partnership with the Men's Foundation, the initiative welcomes collaboration with other organizations and encourages individual clubs and areas to initiate activities and fundraising efforts in support of men's health causes.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the proposed amendment and renaming of the alliance project to the "Don't Camo Yourself" initiative signify our commitment to advancing the discourse and action on male health issues. By embracing a comprehensive approach, fostering partnerships, and promoting sustained engagement, we aim to make a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of men within our communities and beyond.
Members of the Round Table from across South Africa gathered in Mossel Bay for the institution's general annual meeting. ARTSA (Association of Round Table Southern Africa)'s 14 areas had an exciting couple of days behind them. The period provided several opportunities where areas shared their projects and progress for the past year and also planned for the time ahead. Forums for finances, budgets, and more also convened where information was shared to ensure that the official annual meeting was not prolonged.
A major highlight of the gathering was the food tables, which are also an official part of the event. Here, each area has the opportunity to present food and drinks and showcase their culture. Each area typically puts a lot of effort into this section, but the Eastern Cape area excelled above all this year and walked away with the laurels.
Saturday was the big annual meeting and here, new leadership for the upcoming term was also elected followed by the gala evening. The outgoing members were as follows:
Louis Radley – president
Antonie Smit – vice president
Lihan Kriek – treasurer
André Vos Botha – secretary
Louis du Toit – International Relations Officer (IRO)
Wentzel Steward – ARTSA 2024 convener
Pienaar Aller – Inkundla editor
Jacques van Wyk – trademark and strategic manager
Werner Swanepoel – constitutional advisor
Incoming team
The incoming team is:
Antonie Smit – president
André Vos Botha – vice president
Wessel Dryer – treasurer
Deon Ferrerai – secretary
Francois van der Merwe – IRO
Jan Albert de Kock – ARTSA 2025 convener
Wouter Dreyer – Inkundla editor
Walter Groenewald – trademark and strategic manager
Louis Radley – constitutional advisor
The general annual meeting shifts to a different province every year. This year, it was the turn of the South Cape, and they hosted a fantastic weekend. "Many thanks to the South Cape team who made it possible and also made it look like little work, although we know it's not easy to keep 580 people happy," says Walter Groenewald.
Next year, the areas will come together in Parys, Free State. These arrangements are already well advanced.
Mossel Bay News
Did you know Round Table Southern Africa has a rich history dating back to 1948? It all started thanks to the enthusiasm of a Rotary International member, Dr. David Smith! Inspired by his experience with Round Table in England, Dr. Smith brought the organization to South Africa despite initial hesitation. The very first Table was established in East London in 1948, and their dedication to service shone through immediately. Their first project? Raising a whopping R36,000 to build a tuberculosis settlement – a goal they exceeded within two years!
This early success set the tone for Round Table Southern Africa's commitment to making a positive impact. Fast forward to 2024, and we're thrilled to welcome our new President, Antonie Smit! Antonie Smit's election to the presidency heralds a new chapter for Round Table Southern Africa. With a background steeped in service and leadership, he brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role. His passion for community development and fostering fellowship align perfectly with the core values of Round Table. As we look ahead to the future, under President Smit's guidance, we are confident that Round Table Southern Africa will continue to thrive. His vision for the organization includes expanding outreach efforts, increasing collaboration with local communities, and empowering members to drive meaningful change.
Moreover, President Smit recognizes the importance of honoring the organization's rich history while embracing innovation and adaptation. By staying true to our roots while embracing modern challenges, Round Table Southern Africa can remain a dynamic force for good in the region. In celebrating President Antonie Smit's inauguration, we also pay tribute to the countless members, past and present, who have contributed to the success and impact of Round Table Southern Africa. It is through their dedication, passion, and tireless efforts that the organization has become synonymous with service excellence.
As we embark on this exciting journey with President Smit at the helm, let us reaffirm our commitment to serving our communities, fostering fellowship, and upholding the values of Round Table Southern Africa. Together, we can continue to make a difference and leave a lasting legacy of positive change.

My name is Adrian Ihlenfeldt, a second gen Tabler to Victor Wilhelm Ihlenfeldt of Vereeniging 20 and proud of it, I was born in Vereeniging on the 17th of August 1988, I went to primary school at Arcon Park Primary and went to Sasolburg High school. I was not fortunate enough to attend university, as I was more a hands on type of person, not the brain type. I lost my father in Gr8 ( Std 6), and it affected me greatly with regards to making something of my life,
I decided to take a year sabbatical to try find myself but to no avail I was some what still lost. I decided to try follow a dream or passion some might call it, Chef.....I studied and qualified as a chef, but the pay and hours was not for the faint hearted, so I left, I decided to try a complete different venture, Boiler maker and pipefitting at Lethabo Power Station, but yet again that was not for me, at the time I was dating and English chick, absolutely nuts but her father helped me with a job and I found myself doing full time plumbing, but the gods had other plans and we broke up so that was out too, yet again I was still looking for myself and thought it was in something easy....VODACOM sales.....nee hell boys, Days of our lives se moer, wow....not my clowns not my circus ....so we moved on ...AGAIN....let’s try photography, this was fun, I assisted in 100’s of weddings, photoshoots and and and and and, but I got as far as assisting PEOPLE magazine in some editing and you won’t believe it ...that didn’t work either.
My next girlfriend was Afrikaans ( not going into detail here because ill end up having to do a 500 page thesis on her) but her dad was lekke oom and I did electrical contractor for about 4 years but that ended when I was approached by the electrical supplier we bought our goods from to become a salesman, 11 years later, I left due to a proper moron of a CEO and became a rep for a Cable Manufacturing Company....whopa 7 months later I now work for an 41er at his Electrical distribution hub and have truly found myself.
My Table career started in 2015 being inducted straight into a Tabler as we reopened Vereeniging 20, with 6 new members, Tinus Nell, Brandon Newton, Etienne Burger, Carel Jansen van Rensberg, David Engelbrecht and myself, we there after absorbed Vanderbijlpark 29 as their membership was small and needed assistance, to which we gained Tjaart van der Walt and Heinrich du Plooy, I am now the only Tabler to still be part of Vereenging 20, I was amped into becoming PRO for Stnofs 2 years into my career, which I unknowingly created one of the most iconic STNOFS
shirts, and sold over 350 internationally and nationally. I then become chairman twice for my Table and have done every portfolio except treasurer , I then ran for Inkundla Editor 2019/2020 and did a second year following it , 2020/2021, I decided to take a break and Table a bit, I now am the current STNOFS Area Vice Chairman.
My yearly expectation as STNOFS area Vice Chairman, are simple, keep it lekker, find the faults before they find your Tabler bothers, reach out to the community especially to those that are looking for you ( Table). Table hard and listen to your brothers, they will talk when you listen, stand up for the portfolios you do not want to try...THE MAGIC YOU SEEK IS IN THE WORK YOU ARE AVOIDING....
Yours in Tabling STNOFS Vice Chairman ……………

In the diverse world of Round Table, I've found my place as someone who loves a good laugh but also values serious moments. As an engineer by trade, I bring a practical mindset to everything I do, aiming always to add meaningful value. My journey began over two years ago when I was inducted into our Table at a business meeting, a unique start that made the moment all the more special for me.
Starting out as the Bar Convener, I enjoyed bringing people together in a relaxed setting. Eager to take on more responsibility, I then became Vice-Chairman, a role where I could contribute more broadly to our Table's activities and community initiatives. Now, as I step into the role of Area Secretary, I have high expectations for the year ahead. I am committed to enhancing communication among all tablers, establishing structured platforms for seamless portfolio handovers to benefit future tablers.
I plan to implement a comprehensive calendar for all projects, ensuring everyone is well-informed about activities in our area and throughout RTSA. Together, with improved coordination and transparency, we can amplify our impact and strengthen our community bonds. Looking forward, I envision a year of growth and impact. I plan to improve communication among all tablers, initiate meaningful projects that make a difference, and strengthen our relationships within the community. By working together effectively, I am confident that we can leave a lasting positive mark.
Beyond my professional identity as an engineer, Round Table has become a vital part of my life. It's where I get to combine my passion for service with my skills and experiences, all while building lifelong friendships. I'm excited about the journey ahead and the opportunities to make a meaningful difference together.

How do i see myself as Action Man of STNOFS if each and every individual in the STNOFS green army is an action man in his own right and a seasoned warrior and hero of their communities.
I believe that this portfolio comes with a responsibility for me as a tabler and i take this challenge seriously and strongly said with a humble heart.
I believe my role is to cultivate GEES and respectability between STNOFS members, other areas, tables, as well as our families. To be a impact player to assist in projects and team building.

I am here to serve you and support you, so lean on me, and help me make that one beer that we have together today be a memorable moment tomorrow.

In the heart of Round Table Southern Africa (RTSA), there exists a bond that transcends geographical boundaries a bond that keeps the spirit of camaraderie alive no matter where life's journey may lead. This bond was beautifully exemplified during a heartwarming surprise visit orchestrated by the STNOFS council to one of their own, Cuan Maize, at the Gauteng AGM.
Cuan Maize, a former member of STNOFS hailing from Rustenburg, found himself embraced by the warm embrace of his STNOFS family once again, as the council made a surprise appearance at the Gauteng AGM. Despite his transfer to the Gauteng region, the spirit of STNOFS continued to flow through Cuan's veins a testament to the enduring bond fostered within the RTSA community.
As Cuan was announced as the Gauteng Area Chairman for the 2024-2025 term, the STNOFS council seized the opportunity to reaffirm their support and camaraderie. With smiles, cheers, and heartfelt embraces, they welcomed Cuan into his new role, knowing that no matter the distance, the spirit of STNOFS would always be with him.
For Cuan, the surprise visit was not just a gesture of support it was a reaffirmation of the enduring bonds forged within the RTSA community. It served as a reminder that no matter where life's journey may take him, his STNOFS family would always be there, cheering him on every step of the way.The heartwarming surprise visit to Cuan Maize at the Gauteng AGM encapsulated the true essence of Round Table Southern Africa a community bound by friendship, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to making a difference. As Cuan embarks on his journey as the Gauteng Area Chairman, he does so with the unwavering support and love of his STNOFS family behind him, knowing that no matter where life may lead, he will always have a home within the RTSA community.

Hi everyone my name is Jacobus Phillipus Moolman a somewhat shy and introverted person who has been honoured with the privilege of being chairman of “in my opinion” one of the very best tables in our organisation. A place where you truly feel at home when walking into our clubhouse door. A place where you are warmly greeted by brothers who truly want to know how you have been and what is going on in your life. A place where you can feel safe talking about the struggles and hardships you experience, where relevant advice and discussion about some of the tough stuff happen with ease and where there is always a joke to lighten the mood. This is a place where you come to appreciate the fact that you are not walking through life alone.
I believe the reason why we have been so successful in our pursuit to serve the community is the fact that we make everything a fun and enjoyable experience, everyone wants to be there and do there part in making every project a great success. All the members take responsibility for there tasks and will not shy away from being held accountable. This I believe is the result of the amazing fellowship and camaraderie we experience we have great respect for each other and want to go the extra mile for a brother.
I, as most people entering a position as chairman wanted to make changes and make it my own but this table does not belong to me it belongs to the excellent young men sitting at it and the community we serve. A table that is firing on all cylinders is a table where everyone has a important part to play and you truly feel that your effort is making a difference, where you can be proud of being the light in what can seem a dark place at times.
My goal is to lead our members in a way that each reach there maximum potential, and as a collective create impactful change on all events, projects, meetings, discussions we are involved at, all of us will be kept accountable and respectful of each-other and we will lead in unity to inspire, and make the rondel we so admire a symbol of greatness in our community.
I thank all that have entrusted me with this task, I will #leadtoinspire and create #impactfulchange.

In a world where every act of kindness counts, there's one tradition that stands out among tablers: blood donation. It's not just about giving blood; it's about saving lives, bonding with fellow tablers, and fostering a culture of altruism within the community. As we recently embraced this tradition once again, we're here to share our experience and encourage every table to start doing the same. The concept is simple yet powerful: one pint of blood can save up to three lives. With such a profound impact, it's no wonder that tablers across the globe have adopted blood donation as a cherished tradition. But it's not just about the noble cause; it's also about camaraderie and fun.
Picture this: a group of tablers gathering at the local blood donation center, ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference. There's a sense of excitement in the air as they prepare to embark on this meaningful journey together. After all, what better way to spend time with your fellow tablers than by bleeding for a deed? As the needles are inserted and blood begins to flow, there's a shared sense of purpose among the group. Each donation represents a lifeline for those in need, a beacon of hope in times of darkness. And when the deed is done, there's a feeling of satisfaction knowing that you've played a part in saving lives.
But the tradition doesn't end there. After the donations are complete, it's time for a welldeserved reward. In a gesture of appreciation, a member who was elected in the previous donation round buys everyone who donated a round of drinks. It's a simple yet meaningful way to celebrate the act of giving and toasting to the difference we've made together. This "pint for a pint" tradition adds an extra layer of camaraderie to the blood donation experience. It's not just about the altruistic act itself, but also about coming together as a community and enjoying each other's company. And as the drinks flow and laughter fills the air, there's a sense of unity and fulfillment that transcends the moment.
So, to all the tablers out there, we urge you to consider adopting this tradition in your own tables. Not only will you be making a tangible difference in the lives of others, but you'll also be strengthening the bonds of friendship within your group. After all, bleeding for a deed has never been more rewarding.

Matlosane 45 finds itself in a robust position concerning membership, funds, and member engagement.Currently, we boast 9 active tablers and recently welcomed 1 pipeliner into our fold. Our Public Relations Officer (PRO) has been instrumental in our success this year. We've submitted 47 articles, with an impressive 45 making it into the Inkundla. Additionally, our online magazine, 45s Alive, continues to be published quarterly and distributed to our 45 group, Facebook, and local community. Our Facebook page is thriving, expertly managed by our PRO.
This year has been exceptionally fruitful, with a total of 13 projects undertaken. Here's a breakdown of our efforts and the funds raised and distributed:

Collectively, we raised R 757 651.00, with the most significant portion, R 710 990.00, reinvested back into the community. Despite being extremely busy, our Kos kas project continues apace, with Melcolm's initiative ensuring four families are fed monthly, who would otherwise go without. Our upcoming projects are scheduled, and planning is well underway:
- We kick off the year with the jag raffle, aiming to double its success and reach R100k.
- Planning for KOSH Kids has already commenced, and we're eager to make it bigger and better for the children.
- Quiz night promises to be even grander this year, albeit with the task of finding a new venue, as Melcolm may have irked the previous venue's auntie, warranting a penalty.
This year, we intend to show more support for projects hosted by other tables and perhaps even glean some inspiration.
Positives of our table include everyone's involvement in projects and our thriving social events. Sometimes, we socialize a little too well, much to the chagrin of our spouses. Camaraderie is strong within our table, with monthly socials hosted at members' homes, where we enjoy each other's company. We're even adding a new element to our socials with 9mm pistols.
As for negatives, there are none to speak of. We stand united when necessary, and any grievances are hashed out during our occasional table talks, where no one holds back.
In summary, Matlosane 45 continues to flourish, driven by a dedicated membership and a commitment to community service. We look forward to another year of impactful projects and camaraderie.
On the 2nd of February 2024, Matlosane 45 embarked on an unforgettable journey to the annual Sabie Tube Race. Comprising myself, Henro Louw, MC Smith, Jan-Albert de Kock and his girlfriend, Etienne du Plessis, our group was geared up for an exhilarating weekend of tubing, partying, and making memories. Arriving late Friday afternoon just past 7 pm, we wasted no time in setting up camp to ensure we didn’t miss out on the weekend's opening festivities. Friday night blurred into a series of unforgettable moments, although some details might be a bit hazy in retrospect, as tends to happen on such occasions.
Saturday dawned, and the excitement was palpable as we readied our tubes, the "gees" (spirit) running high among us. The journey to the starting point of the adventurous tube race itself was an adrenaline rush, riding at the back of a flatbed truck without railings, balancing precariously to avoid tumbling off. The start of the race was already a thrill in itself.
Upon reaching the river's starting point, the atmosphere was electric, with music pumping and the party in full swing. As we plunged into the chilly waters, the reality of the wild ride ahead set in. The river was unforgiving, the currents swift, and the rocks imposing. Despite the challenges, the experience was nothing short of exhilarating. MC especially bore the marks of the adventure, emerging with a few more bumps and scrapes than the rest of us. The tube race not only provided a thrilling adventure but also served as a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature amidst the company of our closest friends, all while enjoying the pulsating party vibes that surrounded us.
Returning to our camp, we took a moment to recuperate before diving headfirst into the evening's festivities. The night was alive with energy, as throngs of people gathered, and renowned artists took to the stage. We also took it upon ourselves to spread the word about ARTSA 2025, ensuring that everyone who attended the tube race left knowing who Matlosane 45 was and what ARTSA 2025 stood for. Even "Groot Hond" Van Pletzen himself became acquainted with our group after Henro struck up a friendship with him.
In retrospect, the weekend was a whirlwind of excitement, laughter, and camaraderie. I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends to share this adventure with. Here's to many more unforgettable moments in the future. Thanks, guys.

Two years ago, a simple message ignited a passion within me that has since grown into a cornerstone of our community. It all began when I received a plea for help from someone who, despite having a job and a roof over their head, was struggling to put food on the table. At that time, I was a newcomer to Round Table Matlosane 45, having only been inducted for two months. Eager to make a difference, I answered the call without hesitation. Little did I know, this was the beginning of a journey that would touch many lives. Within just a day, six more requests for food assistance came in. It was then that I realized the pressing need within our community. Many were silently suffering, unable to meet the basic necessity of having enough food. This revelation spurred the inception of the Kos Kas project, a mission dedicated to alleviating hunger and providing sustenance to those in need. The Kos Kas initiative quickly garnered support from a few generous sponsors, enabling us to maintain and replenish our food stocks. Their contributions have been invaluable, ensuring that we always have enough resources to assist those who reach out for help. With this support, we have been able to keep the shelves stocked and ready to serve.
Over the past two years, the impact of Kos Kas has been profound. We have provided essential food supplies to 76 families, three schools, and partnered with two major charities and churches to distribute food to even more people in need. Each parcel delivered represents not just a meal, but a message of hope and solidarity. Running Kos Kas has been both my pride and joy. Despite the hard work and countless hours spent driving and delivering food parcels, the smiles and gratitude of those we help make it all worthwhile. Seeing the relief on their faces and knowing that they have one less worry is the greatest reward.
This project has shown me the power of community and the incredible difference we can make when we come together. It has been a humbling experience to be part of something that directly impacts people's lives, providing them with the support they need to get through tough times. As we continue to grow and reach more people, I am committed to ensuring that Kos Kas remains a reliable source of assistance for anyone in need. It is my promise to keep driving, delivering, and smiling, knowing that each effort brings us closer to a stronger, more compassionate community.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in the Kos Kas project. Together, we are making a difference, one food parcel at a time.

On the chilly evening of June 14th, the Klerksdorp Bowls Club was abuzz with activity, warmth, and camaraderie. The occasion was the Bowling for Blankets Roll Ball Night, an event organized by Round Table Matlosane 45 with a heartfelt mission: to gather blankets for those who cannot afford them during the harsh winter months. It was an embodiment of our commitment to the Winter Knights project, ensuring that everyone in our community has the warmth and comfort they deserve. Despite the biting cold, all ten members of Matlosane 45 showed up in their shorts, ready to work through the night. Their attire was a symbolic gesture, a way to experience, even if just for a few hours, the discomfort that so many face without adequate warmth.
This empathy-driven approach set the tone for the evening, reminding us all of the importance of our cause. The atmosphere was electric with music playing on the greens, creating a lively and festive environment. The enticing aroma of food being prepared by Holy Smokes Food Company and the comforting scent of Mugg and Bean coffee wafted through the air, adding to the evening’s charm. These delightful sensory experiences, coupled with the high spirits of the players and attendees, made for an unforgettable night.
The Klerksdorp community came out in full force, braving the cold to support this worthy cause. Their generosity and enthusiasm were heartwarming, demonstrating once again the incredible power of community spirit. Together, we managed to raise an impressive R18,000 worth of blankets and donations.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Klerksdorp Bowls Club, our dedicated sponsors, and every individual who attended. Your contributions have made a tangible difference, ensuring that many will sleep a little warmer this winter. A special thank you goes out to the members of Matlosane 45 for their hard work and dedication, and to the Klerksdorp community for showing up and supporting us so wholeheartedly. Your participation and generosity have made Bowling for Blankets a triumph, and a beacon of hope for those in need.
As we reflect on this wonderful night, we are filled with gratitude and pride. It is a reminder that when we come together, we can create warmth, not just through blankets, but through acts of kindness and solidarity. Here’s to many more nights of bowling, bonding, and bringing warmth to our community.

It’s inspiring to see such dedication to making a positive impact in our community, and I'm honoured to be part of it.
I'm an energetic person, always eager to learn and lend a hand wherever I can. Whether it’s through my studies or community work, I believe in giving my all and making a difference. Thank you for the warm welcome, and I look forward to contributing and growing with you

Swarrrrie, as he became known to us, being my soon to be brother in-law, he quickly started joining Roundtable functions and is always eager to help and to learn, he is asking the right questions. Only 22 years young studying in ORANIA, to get his trade seal in plumbing, he attends all meetings possible. He is a quite chap, but a mind full of thoughts and plans, he has already learned much from ROUNDTABLE, and can’t wait to become a pipeliner and a Member. With the guidelines for him to fulfil he will definitely be a treasure for society and roundtable.
We eagerly wait for him to develop in the young man we see in him.
Transitioning to a new table can often be daunting, filled with uncertainties and challenges. However for me Divan Kotze a former Potchefstroom 47 tabler who recently transferred to Matlosane 45 in Klerksdorp it turned out to be a transformative experience with positive feedback and personal growth.
My journey began with a leap of faith as I bid farewell to my previous table where I had built a reputation which I will forever do my best to maintain. The decision to join Matlosane 45 promised new opportunities to expand and build my knowledge to make an even bigger impact in the community and myself. The members of Matlosane 45 welcomed me with open arms, took me in and made me feel like one of their own, as if I had been there for years. Within the first meeting I joined they ignited a spark, A spark I thought I had lost and for that I will forever be grateful. I am proud to be part of the 45's Alive family and looking forward to what the future holds.

The fourth installment of our soup kitchen was a resounding success, featuring a hearty bean soup that warmed both body and soul. As the winter sun bowed its head, and a full moon lit up the Klerksdorp night sky, people gathered in their numbers. The chilly air was filled with the cheerful sounds of children running and playing, their laughter ringing out like a melody of hope and happiness. Conversations erupted around us, creating a vibrant atmosphere that felt as comforting as home.
The impact of our efforts is becoming increasingly evident. We are no longer seen merely as a service community; we have evolved into a community in service of the community. The RONDEL has become a beacon of hope and solidarity, a symbol of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. Our presence in Klerksdorp is more than just a weekly event; it is a growing movement that inspires others to get involved.
This evening, like the ones before, was about more than just serving food. It was about forging connections and building a community. With each bowl of soup ladled out, we saw the bonds between us and the people we served grow stronger. There was a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect developing, a recognition that we were all in this together. These moments of interaction were not just about addressing immediate needs but also about fostering long-lasting relationships and a sense of belonging
Looking ahead, we are filled with optimism for the next six weeks. We hope to see even more people become involved, not just in receiving but in the joy of giving. Each week, as we prepare the meals and set up the space, we are reminded of the power of community and the profound difference it can make in people's lives.

One of our big yearly funds projects, THE HUNTING RAFFLE, now its 4th consecutive year running with great success. The objective is to raise funds for specific causes, ranging from drought relief, old age homes, medical needs, to our KOSH KIDS project.
We set ourselves a goal of 700 raffles this year, and hope to reach this, and keep on expanding this project boundaries. We have managed to get 6 prizes in total, to give more a chance to participate.
We have a project saying, minimal effort maximum reward, and have found this very true, in the administration being the biggest task.
The funds raised in this years raffle have been earmarked for our KOSH KIDS project, as well farmers in need of assistance.
With final tickets being sold, and tally to happen we believe the winners of this project will be announced shortly. Please get in touch to get involved with this project.

On June 15th, the Warm Fest in Rustenburg marked a day of compassion and community spirit. Departing from Klerksdorp early that morning, attendees were welcomed by Martin Bester and his team, who set the mood with their soulful music.
Throughout the day, we encountered numerous individuals with open hearts, each contributing blankets and canned food to support those less fortunate. A particularly touching sight was the overwhelming presence of members from Matlosane 45, demonstrating their unwavering support for the cause. Their solidarity added to the event's warmth and sense of unity.
In the afternoon, amidst the charitable activities, rugby fans gathered to cheer for the Bulls, who emerged victorious. The joyous atmosphere continued into the evening as participants packed up and reconvened at a local restaurant for refreshments and lively conversations.
The Warm Fest not only provided essential donations but also fostered connections and a shared commitment to making a difference. It was a day where generosity, music, sport, and community came together to create lasting memories and reaffirm the power of collective goodwill.

Wereens 1000de Dankies

I am a hard-working individual, who isn’t afraid of challenges and moving forward in life, I have made mistakes in life and overcome them with determination and a strong family around me. I’m passionate about helping others, and if I can change one person’s day for the positive that is worth more than a million bucks.
I’m a husband and a father of two gorgeous daughters. I am self employed and do civils and engineering on and around tailings facilities.
I’m the current Chairman of Carletonville 50, I have grown in many ways since joining Table, with a bunch of amazing gentlemen around me, one can only grow more in strength and character. mI am impatient and stubborn at times but luckily my fellow brothers in Table keeps me humble and in check, and that’s the beauty of Table.
I’m having a blast with like minded men, traveling and meeting new friends as I go along, learning and improving day by day, project by project. My portfolio includes the bar at Carletonville 50, my second year as chairman, project of the year in 2022 for Christmas in November and currently Action Man of STNOFS. I was inducted at Tri-area at Aldam by Werner Swanepoel, it was quite overwhelming being inducted infront of so many people, still remember Mike Menezes breaking me the first night with jagermeister and tequila.
My expectation for the year is to build lasting bonds between myself and my fellow tablers at Carletonville 50, to learn as much as I can from other Tables in my area while enjoying every moment.
To be positive and smile from ear to ear while serving the community and knowing that my Carletonville “Groot Honde” is my pillar of strength and always has my back.

My name is Pieter Coetzee and I am the current Chairman for Round Table Vereeniging 20.
To talk about myself is difficult as I am normal everyday person.
I am a father of two boys that is a copy of my personality when I was young and that scares me as I know how naughty I was so I am dreading the grey hairs to come. I am married to a machine of a wife who supports me I whatever my mind takes me to.
I like getting things done and can get cross if things take to long or if I have to wait on other people.
I work in the motor industry and I am blessed with what I have achieved in my field and I am thankful for the blessings that I receive on a daily basis.
I like jumping in to my hobbies of hunting, golf and fast cars as they all clear the mind and break routines. I always have time for my mates to make a fire and have a laugh.
I joined Round Table 20 in 2018 via my line of work which forced me to do a joined venture with them, I quickly fell in love with the association and became a member in 2019.I was inducted in Vereeniging in our clubhouse at the time. I have had the privilege of being Treasurer , Vice Charman and Chairman numerus times and this being my last year is a blessing going out a Chairman.
My yearly expectation is very simple. I went from a massive table to only 2 members so having my table grow in all aspects in my number one priority. Bigger table’s have bigger ideas, bigger bank accounts can give bigger relieve, bigger number make for bigger laughs.

This is going to be my autobiography about the life in Table and the opportunity it gave me in life. Let’s start with the beginning, the birth of my life. I was born on the 15 th of September 2000 in Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria East. Life back was simpler, and I did not have many worries at that time. I was raised as an only child by two incredible individuals, who have done their best to prepare me for life and gave me all the tools needed to attempt life. I attended a small primary school, Laarskool Tygerpoort, and it presented the pupils with a farm town environment. It was one of those schools where some teachers were still not comfortable with the new ways of teaching and still had something to hit the kids with. Luckily, I made it through those years and graduated, only to face the reality of going to a much bigger High School. Hoerskool Garsfontein was an absolute delight and I enjoyed most of my time there. It taught me quite a bit and it was also where I learned to be more comfortable around people. I was a different character back ten and looking back at it, I am glad that I changed my ways, but still grateful for the time and what I experienced. Then it was off to the NWU, for the next chapter of my life. That was an amazing time to say the least. But it lasted for only a year as we were all hit with a pandemic that lasted almost two years. During the final stages of my university career, I worked as a barman at the Potch Dorp Rugby Club, which some of you might know is next to the RT47 clubhouse.
It was there, where the next volume off my life started. At first, I just attended the afterparties as I worked during the actual proceedings, but my opportunity came when I could man their bar for one of their projects. The year was 2022 and the month was January. I was invited to join my first official meeting where I could actually sit at the table and not stand behind the bar. It was only the beginning of what blossomed into something beautiful. My Induction took place during the month of March 2022 at the Feather Hills Guest House in Potchefstroom. The first portfolio that I held was the role of clubhouse convenor, and just like that I was back behind the bar. At least this time I had the responsibility of the clubhouse and it felt like my own small little empire. The rest of that year was fantastic in every aspect of it. I attended my first ARTSA in JBay, I started to attend Area events and started to travel across the country to Table more and make more friends along the way. Going into the year 2023 I was given the opportunity to be the Secretary of RT47 and it was the next step in the right direction. This is where all the knowledge given to me played into action. That entire year behind the bar I listened and observed and gained knowledge from all those who have walked the line before me knowing that one day I am going to have to use that.
The same year I was Secretary of RT47, our Vice Chairman had to relocate for work and with an unofficial ceremony I was given the reigns of VC. This was an amazing opportunity, and I was grateful that I could hold this position unofficially. I learned even more and gained more knowledge of table and the way to approach life. It was truly then when I realized that Table is once again the university of life. I was also the STONFS PRO for the term 2023/2024 when the AC of the time, Mike Menezes, presented me with the opportunity, or as he might have said, nudged me in the right direction and only planted the seed. It was absolutely remarkable and for the first time I was challenged in Table. I had to learn everything from scratch and grew myself and the portfolio at the same time.
Thinking about it now, 2023 was a very busy year… With the above-mentioned portfolios, I also took on IRO, PRO and storerooms for RT47. I was definitely all over the show and enjoying every single minute of it. I was travelling the country, I was travelling Europe, and for a month long I had the time of my life as I made friends and memories abroad. It came to the end of the year, and it was time to elect a new chairman of RT47. I was unopposed and got the position. I was really impressed with myself and was excited to hang the gong around my neck. I knew that I now hold a very important role and that I am the one people will look up to in our Table. My plan and only plan for the year is simple. To make sure that we have fun as a group of people and to make impactful change in our community. That is basically it. The projects will come and go, and members will come and go, but at the end of the day the memories will stay with us forever.
Although we started the year of with a bit of a rough patch, we are getting back on our feet. We have a strong flow of new blood attending meetings and bringing in new ideas. They are always involved when we do projects or have meetings, and they are eager for the cause. It won’t be long before we are back to double digits. This year is also the year that I am holding the position of RTSA Inkundla Editor and Communications Officer. It was unexpected and happened very quickly, but I am excited to take on this challenge as well. It will teach me new skills and take me to new heights. I am so grateful for Round Table and everything it have presented to me. It took me abroad twice and to the majority of our country, and I had the privilege of doing it with my friends and brothers. Round Table have also taught me to listen more and to be there for someone when they need reassurance and someone to lean on. I have also needed them in return and have many a time talked through my problems with my brothers. Those are the moments I am most grateful for. The rest of the journey is still unknown, but what I do know is that I am excited and hungry for what lies ahead. It is going to be fun, and I will do it with the people closest to me. I can’t wait.
That is my story for now. If you want to hear more or get something of your chest or just have a quick beer, give me a call and the rest will sort out itself.
