clubes e representantes do nosso distrito.

Entre abraços, sorrisos e momentos de energia compartilhada através dos cliques do profissional “Bill Paparazzi “ os associados e convidados foram tomando seus assentos, os garçons do restaurante e uma linda garçonete nos deixava bem à vontade, enquanto ofereciam as bebidas e os aperitivos.

A nossa diretora do protocolo Bernadete Zagonel deu início a reunião juntamente com nossa Presidente, e foram fazendo o evento ficar extraordinário, os rostos de todos demonstravam como cada um se sentia orgulhoso em fazer parte deste momento glorioso de nosso club. Desta vez, a maior surpresa foi que realizamos o encontro (que sempre acontece em nosso idioma), em inglês, trazendo um alívio perceptível aos convidados que certamente podem pronunciar nossos nomes e arriscar uma ou duas palavras em português, mas são falantes de inglês.

Bernadete Zagonel convidou meu esposo Raul LLanos para trazer uma pequena mensagem, com a voz mais baixa do que o habitual, ele foi trazendo todos ao clima, de verdadeira reflexão, com palavras sábias e escolhidas trouxe uma mensagem bem significativa, ele falou sobre o sentido da vida na perspectiva do Dalai Lama que é ser “compassivo, altruísta e amoroso”, Raul contrastou com as palavras do escritor e filósofo americano Joseph Campbell que enfatiza que “a vida não tem sentido somos nós que damos sentido à vida”, Raul Llanos disse que apesar de não ser sócio do nosso clube, mas tem a oportunidade de observar em nossas reuniões quando me acompanha e quando participa de muitas atividades do nosso clube onde sempre tem prazer em ser mais um dos voluntários, bem como ao assistir o programa semanal Conexão Rotary – projeto de nosso clube, onde os entrevistados compartilham seus trabalhos e conquistas com abrangência internacional, ele descreveu com naturalidade que ele percebe que essa definição é exata para nossa família

rotariana.

Compaixão, Altruísmo e Amor, traz sentido à vida de quem recebe ações do Rotary Club, ao mesmo tempo que dá sentido à vida dos rotarianos espalhados pelo mundo, ele encerrou sua reflexão desejando sucesso ao ano rotário 2022/23 e nos lembrando que união e o companheirismo continuem sendo as armas usadas para fazermos o bem sem olhar a quem.

A festa continuou animada, e a Presidente do ano rotário 2021/2022 trouxe aos convidados todas as conquistas, e nos levou ao ano rotário que estava terminando, lembrando-nos dos muitos momentos importantes que nossa família Boca Raton West pode vivenciar, alguns dos membros da diretoria também puderam trazer momentos de realizações , e entre eles um dos diretores Francisco Pessoa, nos lembrou porque temos o privilégio de estar realizando ações e abençoando tantos, através de nossos projetos, porque alguém especial e persistente o eterno sonhador o governador nomeado para o ano 2023/2024 Douglas Heizer que teve a brilhante ideia de reunir tantos outros sonhadores para fundar nosso clube e eu, tenho o orgulho em fazer parte deste clube constituído por pessoas que nem sempre olham para o mesmo lado da rua, mas sempre tem a oportunidade de unir forças para ajudar outros.

E assim neste momento de profunda alegria, estas mulheres fantásticas continuaram as surpresas indescritíveis, como mensagens de reconhecimento e certificados aos associados, inclusive nossa Presidente foi reconhecida por sua dedicação constante, entre fotos e muita emoção, o ano novo foi restabelecido pelo “grandfather do nosso clube" com a apresentação da Presidente pelo segundo ano consecutivo, Luciana e sua diretoria, onde apenas Marli foi escolhida para integrar o grupo como secretária ficou estabelecido o novo ano rotário 2022/2023.

membros do clube os quais já foram associados e continuavam ligados e que alegrou a todos o retorno Marina e Gustavo Couto.

O fundador do Boca Raton West e nomeado Governador do distrito 6930 Douglas Heizer fez uma reflexão amigável e mencionou o que na sua opinião está sendo importante para o clube e compartilhou planos futuros apresentando o “team” que ajudará no distrito.

E com a visão do lema “imagine“da atual Presidente Internacional Jennifer E. Jones fomos convidados a imaginar um novo ano rotário onde não apenas somos mais fortes juntos, mas unidos podemos fazer muito mais, onde Declaração de Diversidade, Equidade e Inclusão estará presente em cada novo ato desta família tão diferente e tão igual que é nosso Boca Raton West Club.

Discurso da Presidente Luciana Beuke Ladies and Gentlemen, good evening!

I would like to thank each one of you that are here tonight with us, as we celebrate the end of a Great Year for our Club, and the beginning of a new one.

To my Club members I would like to say that it was an honor to serve as your President, and I`m truly grateful for this amazing opportunity.

I would like to Thank our Club Member spouses and family as well. Without your support, we would not accomplish so many things and be as successful as we are.

To my lovely husband Jimmy Beuke, and my wonderful kids, Anthony, Belinda and Charles, to Raul Llanos, Wally Casanova, George Gesund, Gustavo Paim, Robert Blakely, Valdo Silva, Carla Pessoa and Regina Vasconcellos, whether you have joined us at our meetings, or you gave your support from home, we appreciate you, and you are always welcome to our meetings and events.

Serve to change lives, this was our theme for 2021-2022 Rotary year. My Rotary Members really made a difference in the world, we truly served and changed lives.

During the month of June, I reviewed our year, and reading our Newsletters made me feel so happy, as I could see all the amazing things we accomplished as a club.

I can definitely say that We Worked Hard and We Played Hard.

I`m glad we were able to gradually start our in-person meetings, as it opened the opportunities for awesome get togethers.

Such meetings, like Happy Hours and volunteer events were so much fun. I don`t know about you my members, but my book of great memories also includes this past year`s, 4 of July, Wine Tasting, and the Costume Party at the White House.

However, and because we are much more than just a fun club, I would love to tell you a little about our accomplishments in 2021-22.

We supported the Governor, Michael Walstrom in his Walk for Peace, and The Ak Tenamit Guatemala Project.

In a partnership with Rotary Downtown Boca Raton, we donated dictionaries for more than 120 third graders at Coral Sunset Elementary School.

Also, in a partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Boca Raton, we were able to donate more than 1000 toys to the less fortunate children in Palm Beach County for the annual Toy Drive. This project was developed by our Dear Governor Elect Douglas Heizer, and last year we Celebrated its 15-year anniversary.

We also participated in the Digital Inclusion with Boca Raton Sunrise, and our club musician Bernadete Zagonel had the honor to be an audition judge in the preselection for The Future Stars, a project from Rotary Boca Raton.

We opened a new location for our Brazilian library which serve Brazilian community with literature in an aim to preserve our culture and language specially for the Brazilian American children. This project is directed by Janne Gesund.

With The Rotary Connection with Ligia Assunção, a show at Gazeta News, that interviews Rotarians from different countries, we were able to promote Rotary International and Rotary Projects from all over the world.

We resumed the Project Yo-Yo directed by Vera Schafer, which is a simple, fun, and at the same time a way to transform meetings of friends into a productive event that can generate benefits for the less fortunate.

We sent 4 teenagers to RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

We added the wonderful Josh the Otter Project as one of our annual projects.

And who here has a Dog? I had this crazy idea, and with the support of my club, I had the pleasure to launch The Dogs Helping Dogs Club, a project that aims to help dogs in need. If you have a dog, and you believe all dogs should be loved, respected, and happy, you should sign up your dog to become a member off this great canine chain of good.

And responding to the call of Rotary International on environment, we established a partnership in Brazil with the National Coordination of the Entities of the Ladies of Rotarians, and the project sponsor, the lawyer Amario Cassimiro da Silva, and together we launched Reforesting Brazil, a project that will benefit the whole planet, in a national competition to encourage planting trees throughout Brazil.

I`m proud of each and every one of my members, and I`m proud of Boca Raton West.

Now, with happiness, enthusiasm and hope for another great year, we will follow the first Woman President of Rotary International, Jennifer Jones. We will Imagine Rotary. We will continue with our work hard play hard attitude, and we will Imagine Rotary, and the great things we can accomplish together and united, and we will work hard to accomplish it. Some people like to say that together we are stronger, I agree! However together is not enough, we need to be united. So, I prefer to say that united we are super powerful.

Life is good, and it is even better when we share life with people that Are the Change we want to see in the planet. So, I pray for another great year, and God be with us.

In a partnership with Rotary Club Xique – Xique in Brazil, we are helping to build an organization that offers after school programs for children and a Rotary Kids. It also supports adult ladies with vocational education preparing them to get a job, so that they can provide a better life for themselves and families.

And finally, it is important to mention that we also contributed to Ending Polio Campaign and The Rotary Foundation. I`m pretty sure there are other things worth mentioning, but I think at this point we all have a good idea of our accomplishments.

As a President I faced many challenges during 2021-22, but I can definitely say that it was totally worth the time I dedicated to my club. In my speech last year, I told my members that we would serve to change lives TOGETHER and we did it.
