WEST VISIT CONSULATE GENERAL OF BRAZIL IN MIAMI

The Rotary Club of Boca Raton West is a community-based organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of people in their community and beyond. With a focus on community service and leadership, the club is made up of individuals who share a common goal of making a positive impactintheworld.

Ambassador André Odenbreit Carvalho is the current Consul General of Brazil in Miami, and he has been instrumental in strengthening the relationship between Brazil and the United States. He has been serving as the Consul General of Brazil in Miami since 2021 and has previously served in other diplomatic positions in Brazil andabroad.

contributions to the diplomatic community and his advocacy for the Brazilian people in South Florida. He has been instrumental in promoting trade and cultural exchange between Brazil and the United States, and he has been a strong advocate for the rights of Braziliansliving abroad.

During the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West's visit to the Brazilian Consulate in Miami, AmbassadorCarvalhosharedhisinsightsand experiences as a diplomat and discussed the importance of building strong relationships with local communities. He also talked about the significant role played by the Brazilian Consulate in Miami in promoting Brazilian culture and supporting the Brazilian community inSouthFlorida.

The members of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West were impressed by Ambassador Carvalho's commitment to community service and his dedication to strengthening the relationship between Brazil and the United States. They were grateful for the opportunity to meet with him and learn from hisexperiences

were excited to meet with Consul Andre and learn more about Brazilian culture, as well as discuss important issues and explore potential collaborations.

Angelica Blakely, the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West, has been an active member of the club for several years and has demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills. She has been involved in various community service projects and has been instrumental in strengthening relationships with other organizations in the community.

Bernadete Zagonel, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West, has beenanactivememberof theclub.

The visit to the Brazilian Consulate in Miami was a fantastic opportunity for Luciana, Angelica, and Bernadete to represent the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West and showcase its commitment to community service and leadership. LUNCH EVENT WITH A BRAZILIAN AMBASSADOR FOSTERING COLLABORATION AMONG ADHONEP, APEB, ROTARY, AND CCB

Last March 28, an exciting lunch event took place, bringing together four prominent Brazilian organizations in the city to converse with one of the most distinguished Brazilian ambassadors, Andre Odenbreit Carvalho The event was aimed at promoting collaboration among the organizations and sharing insightsonrelevantissues.

ROTARY is an international organization that focuses on promoting peace, fighting disease, and providing humanitarian aid. The organization is committed to eradicating polio, providing clean water, and supporting education. Rotary is a global network of leaders who work together to make a positivedifferenceintheworld.

ADHONEP, or the Association of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, is a nonprofitorganizationthatseekstointegrate

Christian values into the workplace. The organization provides training programs, networking opportunities, and a platform for members to discuss business-related issues. With a strong focus on ethics and values, ADHONEP aims to promote integrity, respect, and excellence in the business community.

APEB, or the Association of Evangelical Pastors of Brazil, is a community of pastors committed to promoting the gospel and serving their communities. The organization organizes events and training programs to equip pastors with the necessary tools to serve their congregations better. APEB is committed to promoting unity among different churches and advancing social justice.

CCB, or Centro Comunitário Brasileiro, is a non-profit organization that serves the Brazilian community in the United States. CCB is dedicated to providing a wide range of services to Brazilian immigrants, including legal assistance, social services, cultural programs,andeducation.

Ambassador Andre Odenbreit Carvalho is a highly respected diplomat who has served in various capacities in the Brazilian Foreign Service. He is a former ambassador to Japan and Mexico and has represented Brazil in several international forums. Ambassador Carvalho is an expert in international relations and has a deep understanding of the complexitiesofdiplomaticnegotiations.

During the lunch event, the organizations had the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with Ambassador Carvalho, who shared his insights on international relations, diplomacy, and the challenges facing Brazil. The event was a great success, fostering collaboration among the organizations and providing an opportunity for members to learn from each other.

The lunch event with Ambassador Andre Odenbreit Carvalho was an excellent opportunity for ADHONEP, APEB, ROTARY, and CCB to come together and share their perspectives on relevant issues. The event demonstrated the importance of collaboration and dialogue in promoting positive change and advancing the common good.

Douglas Heizer Honored with Comenda do Rio Branco by Brazilian Government at Consulate General in Miami

Rotary Club of Boca Raton West Members and Ambassador of Brazil André Odenbreitt

Douglas Heizer, a prominent member of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West, has recently been honored by the Brazilian government with the Comenda do Rio Branco. This prestigious award, named after the Brazilian diplomat José Maria da Silva Paranhos Júnior (Baron of Rio Branco), is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the promotion of Brazil's international relations and cultural exchanges.

The award was presented to Heizer by Ambassador Andre Odenbreit Carvalho, at the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami The event was attended by Heizer's family, some friends, and members of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West who gathered to honor and celebrate this remarkable achievement.

Heizer, a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton West, has been actively involved in various community service initiatives and charitable causes, both locally and internationally. He has also played a

The Rotary Club Boca Raton West has offered its companions some lectures, according to the themes suggested by Rotary International, with the aim of informing and making everyone aware of the proposedthemes

Emphasizing the topic related to Cancer, the Rotary Club Boca Raton West invited Dr. Marileila Varella-Garcia to speak on the topic.

Doctor Marileila Varella-Garcia is a Ph.D. and Clinical Professor, Medicine-Medical Oncology, and Scientific Advisor at the University of Colorado - UCD - School of Medicine.

Doctor Marileila Garcia, who is a noted researcher in Translational Oncology and Cytogenetic, talked about Personalized Oncology - “PrinciplesandBenefits”

In addition to the companions present, we had the pleasure of receiving the following visitors, Mr. Diego Garcia Varella, Doctor Almir Nácul and the couple Marco Aurélio Good and his beautiful wife Lu Ribeiro Good, guestsof ourcompanionMarly Saraiva.

Thinking the subject of “Peace Building & Conflict Prevention”, the Lawyer, Real Estate, and current President of our Rotary club Boca Raton West, Luciana Beuke, spoke about the Palace of Peace in The Hague, where she took her specialization course in Right. In addition to the companions present, this meeting was attended by Jimmy Beuke and the visiting couple from the Rotary Club of Cuiabá, Brazil, Nilton SérgioLourençoandCássiaLourenço.

International Women´s Day was celebrated with a lecture by Bernadete Zagonel, Ph.D. in Music, under the title “Women in Rotary”, at which time the companion was able to report on the trajectory of women in Rotary. On that occasion, the guests Mr. Marco Aurélio Good and his wife Lu Ribeiro Good werepresent.

Aiming to expand Rotary spaces through Satellite Clubs, our associate Elizabete Alderete was chosen to preside over the Satellite Club linked to the Rotary Club Boca Raton West. For this, Elizabeth brought to the club some members who will be part of this satellite club. The members of the Satellite Club who will be sworn in, after approval by the Board Members are: Mânia Sonnenberg, Estela Maris Jurach and Márcia Coelho. On that occasion, we had the presence of visitors Gilva Bartashy and the couple Lu Ribeiro Good and Marco Aurélio Good, who showed interest in joining our Rotaryclub.

Closing the month of March, we had a lecture by our colleague and Civil Engineer, Fagner Moutinho, who, in his Rotary Moment, spoke about the creation of Rotaract Clubs, talking about his experience as the creator of one of these entities linked to Rotary clubs. In addition to the companions, we have the presence of Marco Aurélio Good, our future companion who, approved by the Board Members, awaits the date for his inauguration. We also had the visit of Fagner's lovely wife, Allana Valadão, when we were able to celebrate the wedding of this very pleasant couple, making a toast, wishing a fruitful life together, surrounded by lots of loveandunityforthecouple.

Still, within that period of time, the Rotary Club Boca Raton West, celebrated the date of the birthdays of the period, which are the companions, Marly Saraiva, Douglas Heizer, Janne Gesund, Francisco Pessoa, Márcia Silva & Luciana Becker, with a delicious cake offered by the kind president Luciana Beuker, when the occasion could be offered. On that date, the club was also attended by the couple Lu Ribeiro Good and Marco Aurélio Good, who came to toast the club'sbirthdays.
