Final Model
To design a product that highlights or tackles the social and environmental impacts associated with eating chocolate.

Enviromental Element
Primary research gathered shows that West African Countries such as Ghana and Cote showed a higher rate of deforestation than countries such as Brazil and Ecuador.
higher rate of deforestation
lower rate of deforestation
In order to portray the deforestation in West Africa, I created an array of leafless trees on Adobe Illustrator, which were then laser cut onto a thin sheet of MDF. This feature serves as a visual cue to raise awareness about the issue and inspire action toward conservation efforts.
Social Element
Primary and secondary research showed that the consumption of chocolate produced negative mental and physical effects, the pedometer used to track the number of steps taken daily encourages fitness thus benefiting health.

Storyboard - The Problem
Tom starts his day by reading his To Do list.
Tom rides the bus to the shop, he is having to stand up and hold onto the overhead handles.
Tom gets a trolley and enters the shops.
Tom struggles to reach and carry the products on the high shelves.
Tom carries his shopping back to the bus stop to go back home.
Tom then puts his shopping away, again struggling to reach his high cupboards and shelves.
This project consisted of investigating scenarios, generating concepts, observational sketches, creating personas and storyboards. These skills allowed me to understand the problem in extensive detail as I integrated humancentred design research into my design process.
