Ayullu Chair
Final Major Project
The AYULLA chair is a modular seating system that fuses modern design with traditional Peruvian craftsmanship. At its core is the seat, woven using the backstrap loom made from naturally dyed alpaca yarn, crafted by skilled artisans in Peru using techniques passed down through generations. The frame is made from ethically sourced timber, designed to echo the structure of a loom.
The project addresses the decline of indigenous Peruvian weaving, threaened by mass market alternatives, lack of support, and diminishing interest in handmade textiles. Each chair includes a QR code that links users to stories of the artisans, educational resources, and opportunities to support weaving communities directly.
AYULLA is more than a chair, it’s a cultural bridge that helps preserve heritage while empowering the hands that create it.
ASH LUX
The pendant light that honours the memory of an ash tree and promotes reforestation efforts.
With ash dieback set to devastate the UK’s native ash tree population, Ash Lux offers a sustainable response by transforming timber from infected trees into meaningful design.
The luminaire’s elegant slatted structure, crafted through lowenergy steam bending, casts a warm, dappled light, echoing the tree’s natural canopy and symbolising hope and resilience. By giving new purpose to otherwise discarded wood, AshLux highlights the potential of sustainable materials and traditional craftsmanship.
To support long-term recovery, 10% of each sale goes directly to UK reforestation initiatives focused on restoring ash tree populations.

Sketch Ideation
For this module, I was tasked with developing and detailing a proposal for innovative water rescue equipment tailored to the waterways of Leeds.
Throughout the project, I conducted in-depth research into sustainable alternative materials, modern manufacturing processes, and principles of the circular economy.
This booklet presents the full development journey of my design, from initial material exploration to final product realisation. Culminating in the creation of Recline Relief, a thoughtfully crafted solution focused on safety, sustainability, and functionality.

Eight Advisory - Pall Mall, London
During my placement year, I worked on several photography projects where I was responsible for setting up and directing the shoots.
One of these was for Eight Advisory, a modern office space located on Pall Mall in the heart of London. As the supplier of their outdoor furniture, my role was to capture the essence of the space, highlighting how the balcony’s furniture transformed it into a vibrant, social environment.
Dishoom - Battersea, London
I carried out a photography shoot at Dishoom Battersea, capturing the essence of its retro-futuristic Bombay-inspired design.
Focusing on key interior details, lighting, and atmosphere, I aimed to reflect the unique blend of old Bombay charm and imaginative modernity that defines the restaurant and bar experience.
Stem & Stem - Greater London
I carried out a photography shoot at Stem & Stem in Greater London, a unique space combining a florist with fine dining.
My aim was to capture the elegant and atmospheric setting, focusing on its warm lighting, natural greenery, and refined interior details. The shoot highlighted the harmonious blend of nature and sophistication that defines the identity of the venue.
Royal Automobile Club - Pall Mall, London
I carried out a photography shoot at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club in London.
The aim was to document the grandeur of its historic 1897 interior, particularly in the areas where we supplied bespoke pieces. The space, as shown in the images, features classical columns, ornate mouldings, and a dramatic domed skylight that bathes the gallery in natural light, capturing the elegance and timeless design that defines the club’s atmosphere.
