Theoneexceptiontothispolicywillbeifschoolsare closedonaluncheonday,theSteepleCenterwillremainopenandtheluncheon willgoonasscheduled. Thisdecisionwasmadeintheinterestofsafetyandto helpavoidconfusionregardingwhetherornotthebuildingwillbeopen.

Bus leaves Community Center at 9am and returns at approximately 3pm Head to the beautiful countryside near Hamel, Minnesota to visit Skyrock Farm & Carousels with its rolling hills, maple trees and beautiful horses. We will start with a tour of the Skyrock Carousel building to get an informative and historical look at the antique dance organs. These beautifully restored musical marvels play the happiest music on earth. Learn about the restoration process of gold leafing, and how 100-year-old art is preserved. See a carousel horse collection and learn why the men who carved the ornate figures have a place in history. We will then enjoy a hearty pot roast home cooked meal prepared Minnesota Style, using fresh premier ingredients. Includes beverage and dessert. After lunch, take in a horse jumping program inside the climate-controlled arena. This is a premier horse hunterjumper training facility. You will see the beautiful animals and talented riders. Bus leaves Community Center at 9:30am and returns at approximately 3:15pm Welcome spring with a visit to the Art in Bloom exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art! Enjoy imaginative floral interpretations of selected works of art from MIA's permanent collection, created by more than 100 commercial florists and individual artists. Guests are invited to experience the floral fragrance throughout the museum. Browse floral-inspired merchandise in the Art in Bloom Pop-up Shop. This is a self-guided experience throughout the museum campus and gift shop. MIA inspires wonder through the power of art. The Minneapolis Institute of Art enriches the community by collecting, preserving, and making accessible outstanding works of art from the world’s diverse cultures. MIA’s permanent collection has grown from 800 works of art to more than 89,000 objects. The museum has several curatorial areas to explore: Arts of Africa & the Americas, Contemporary Art, Decorative Arts, Textiles & Sculpture, Asian Art, Paintings, Photography and New Media, and Prints and Drawings. After leaving MIA, we will have lunch at Jax Cafe, a landmark that was established in 1933. Lunch will include a choice of baked chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and a vegetable or Swedish meatballs with potatoes and vegetable. Both choices will come with chocolate mousse for dessert and a beverage.
