President’s Message Dear members and friends of the Swiss Club, I can’t recall ever seeing so many members attending our AGM on 16 March! It was great to see the Second Floor so busy. The committee had the pleasure to present many members with their bronze, silver or gold membership recognition pin. Thank you to all who came for taking the time. Please keep it a regular event to learn about your club. In April, comedy was the theme at the club with the Comedy Festival taking over the Second Floor for their performances. I trust some of you had an opportunity to enjoy one of the scheduled shows. I spent April in Switzerland. When we arrived end of March, the landscape was still bare, wintery and kind of monotonous looking but then the weather changed. It became surprisingly

warm and sunny and nature burst into life. Spring was here in full. Trees turned green almost overnight. The fields became a sea of yellow and green. Due to the relative warmth, everything started to bloom in large varieties of colours. What a glorious time to be in Switzerland! At this time in Switzerland, all is about moving outdoors to enjoy the arriving summer. On the other side of the world, here in Victoria, we are turning again to indoor activities and being warm and cosy. What better place to enjoy this than our club restaurant or the fun and conviviality of a Swiss Club event? How about a Jass? There will be our first ever weekend Championships in June. ‘Kapelle Grüezi Mitenand’ entertains every first Thursday of the months. It is always a fun evening. For 1st of August celebrations we offer this year a National Day Lunch. This will be an opportunity for all our members who no longer like to go out at night to enjoy a club event. In the evening our traditional Lantern Parade will take place. We hope you will be able to join us at one of the upcoming events or just for a delicious meal at the restaurant. Barbara Kündig - President

Pacher and Tony Erb had to spend some time in hospital. We wish you all the best for a speedy recovery and we hope to see you again at the Club soon.
