It’s not just a matter of Super sizing - there’s a toy involved. Order your Hoppy Meal and get something you can play with - another finely crafted piece of plastic to add to your toy collection.

I am aware John and Stacey have replaced me but it took two dogs, Mojo and Luna. They tore my house down and built another one. I know I may be gone but not forgotten. We have no TV, e-mail, or cell phones - or UPS, FedEx up here. That’s why they call it heaven. I am thrilled at the progress of the world’s largest dog brewfest named after me, and they finally put my mug on a bottle. I am flattered to be re-elected Chairman of the Board for the 10th time - the job really does not require much time, sort of like Robert Rubin at Citibank.

Q. If I have a Rogue tattoo can I get free beer for life?

My portfolio so far has escaped the down turn, mainly due to not having American or International public stocks or bonds. From here it appears to be a moral crisis fueled by greed at large institutions chasing bonus and commision, not giving a damn about staff or shareholders. Too many demanding to be treated as royalty and getting it. If they had any honor they would jump. Have not seen one up here. When investment banks were private not public there were a lot more conservatives — it was their money. If your name’s not on the door or it was not your $, why should they do anything other than take care of themselves? Every cloud has a silver lining. Now we know what a trillion looks like:

1,000,000,000

A. No. You can’t get free beer for life, but Rogue will pay for half your tattoo, up to $250.00. Become a Rogue ambassador. Send us an essay entitled, “Body Art for Beer,” a picture of your bare patch of skin, and what you plan to have tattooed there. Send your ink submissions to: NationHQ@Rogue.com.

Spirits – are you nuts? There is no such thing as vintage vodka, pink gin, or spruce gin for that matter. At least not up here — but Dead Guy whiskey is a winner. Have you ever considered distilling trub? Give my best to all my friends. Viva la revolution.

20 years of Meet the Brewer Who is John Maier? John has been with Rogue

Ales for 20 years, creating ales, porters, stouts and lagers that have won over 600 awards for quality and taste. Born in Riverside, CA in 1955, John originally moved to Portland, OR as a child in 1962. After a move back to California, where he graduated from Vista High School in 1973, John attended the Devry Institute of Technology (Phoenix, AZ) and graduated in 1975. John was employed by Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, CA from 1975 to 1986 as Senior Electronic Technician, where he worked on the F-14 Tomcat Radar System. In the Fall of 1986, John attended the Siebel Institute of Technology and graduated from their 50th course in Brewing Technology. In 1988 he brewed a barleywine that won the American Homebrewer Association’s Homebrewer of the Year Award.

The Alaskan Brewery in Juneau hired John as an Assistant Brewmaster in March of 1987. He left in May of 1989. John was there for the very first brew at the Rogue Ales Brewery in Newport, and by his side was his loyal assistant brewer, a black lab named Brewer... Brewer’s reign as assistant brewer, Chairman of Rogue Ales, and Newport Ambassador of the Rogue Nation, was not without controversy: During his first 2 years working at the brewery he received more than 100 citations for not wearing a hair net, and was temporarily banned from the brewery due to excessive shedding. An office was provided (mostly during inspections) in a 1978 Ford in the parking lot. Brewer was responsible for the first gourmet dog menu in Newport, was a dedicated Rogue Nation member for 12 years, and never missed a meeting or a meal. Brewer is no longer by John’s side, but there are 2 new part-time assistants.

Welcome Mojo and Luna: Mojo and Luna are

Curly Coated Retrievers and, unfortunately, are not able to work full-time for Rogue, as they are doggie calendar models. In addition to their active role at the brewery, Mojo and Luna rigged the voting at the Curly Coated Retriever Club of America and got a position for their mom, Stacey, as National Membership chair.

When they’re not posing on the beach, they enjoy a bowl of Doggie Beer just like any other dog.

May 21, 2008 – The 3rd Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Fest, the largest dog brew festival in the world, was held at the Rogue Brewery in Newport, OR and raised over $15,000 for Oregon dog charities including the Lincoln County Dog Shelter, Central Coast Humane Society, Oregon Coast Therapy Animals, Safe Haven, and HALO. Over 2,647 humans with 827 of their best friends attended the festival created in memory of Brewer, the faithful companion of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier, who passed away on May 20th, 2006. The dog-friendly brew festival was held at the Rogue Ales Brewery and included Doggy Musical Chairs, Dog Wash, Doggy Olympics (pictured below), Dog Dancing, and Celebrity dog look-a-likes (Rin-Tin-Tin, Lassie, Benji, and of course, Brewer). 50+ microbrews were poured including Amnesia Brewing, Astoria Brewing, Bear Republic Brewery, Block 15 Brewing Co., Double Mountain, Full Sail, Laurelwood Brewing, Ninkasi, Pelican Pub, Rogue Ales, Standing Stone Brewery, Oakshire Brewing, Old Lompoc, Stone Brewing, Fort George Brewing, Eugene City Brewery, Issaquah Brewery and more.

Rogue Nation Barley Farm Takes Root The Rogue Nation Department of Agriculture has planted 122 acres of Charles winter malting barley near Tygh Valley, Ore. Rogue is growing barley to be used in the creation of Rogue Ales and Rogue Spirits. Together with Rogue Farms’ own hops from its hop yard in Independence, Ore., proprietary Pacman yeast from Wyeast Labs in Odell, Ore. and free range coastal water, Rogue will brew an all-Oregon ingredient OREgasmic ale.

sunshade to block out some of the direct sunlight until they’re ready. They’re being misted every 2 hours.

The Rogue Nation Postal Service will issue a stamp to commemorate the barley farm, the Department of Energy is placing a webcam on site so Rogues worldwide can check the crop’s progress and the Rogue Nation Treasury has added a 4 hopoe note with McAllister’s picture to its official currency.

Rubber tubes line the table (they’ve used the heating element in a waterbed for larger plants before) and are pumped full of hot water (85 degrees). The heat from the tubes encourages the hop roots to grow. Plants won’t be transported to the farm until the pots are thick with roots.

The crop, fed by the Little Rogue River, is even better than expected. The Charles winter barley harvested two weeks ago. The crop yielded 499,000 pounds of barley, an average of 2 metric tons per acre. Idagold spring barley will be harvested in mid-August. The malted barley, Dare, Risk, and Dream, will be used in Rogue ales. Rogue is proud to participate with Oregon Farmers in the growing of the two major agricultural ingredients in beer, connecting the dots between what’s in the ground and what’s in the glass

From the Womb Rogue couldn’t get a certain type of hop rhizomes - the Freedom hop - so we decided to make them from a “mother plant.” The project began by taking cuttings from a single plant and placing the tissue in a Petri dish filled with a gelatin substance providing hormones that encourage roots to form.

In addition to the 122 acres of Risk winter barley, an additional 103 acres of spring malting barley were planted. The result will be a summer harvest of over 700,000 pounds of barley, which will be malted at Great Western Malting in Vancouver, Washington. The fields are part of the sprawling 2,400-acre McAllister appellation that sits on the east side of Mt. Hood, about 30 miles south of The Dalles within view of the historic Barlow Trail. The ranch also has apples, pears, cherries, blueberries, plums, rye, hay and wine grapes. Many native plant species have been replanted to create wildlife habitat for deer, coyotes, rabbits, wild turkeys and raptors. 140 lakes provide water for irrigating crops and serve as way stations for migratory waterfowl.

It took 2 months to receive the results - Petri dishes with 30 plants in each dish. These were removed from the gelatin when roots were ½ inch long, then planted in a bark dust mixture made on the farm. The plants were then kept under tents for 2 weeks, misted with water every 8 minutes and kept at 80 degrees. Plants were then moved to the open air of the greenhouse to learn to open and close their stomata the way they’ll have to when they’re planted outside at the hop farm. While hops are in the sealed Petri dish the stomata located on the underside of the leaves remain open. The word stomata means “mouth” in Greek because it allows communication between the internal and external environments of the plant. Their main function is to allow gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapor and oxygen to move rapidly into and out of the leaf. Plants were left in the greenhouse for 6 weeks before they’re moved outside the greenhouse to get used to the wind. Plants moved too quickly to the farm will turn all white from shock.

The area around the barley field has been “Rogue-ified.” There’s a large boulder, excavated while preparing a field, proclaimed “Rogue Rock.” A few yards away, “Rogue Pond” empties into “The

5/26/09: Famed Hallertau hop region of Germany pummeled by hail!

A season that was marked by favorable growing conditions ended on May 26th when Europe’s hop fields were struck by a severe hail storm. Some hop bines were stripped bare and in other areas only the wires remained. 4,500 acres were completely destroyed. Hallertau: This area in Bavaria, Germany boasts 178 km² of hop fields - the biggest hop-planting area in the world. When the hailstorm hit the region, 10,000 acres were affected - that’s 25% of the hop fields in Hallertau. 2,500 acres were completely destroyed; 3,750 acres were severely hit, and another 3,750 acres were lightly damaged. Tettnang: The Southern part of the Tettnang region was hit by the hailstorm as it passed through the region. 875 acres were left badly damaged and 1,000 acres were moderately affected. 30% of the hop fields were damaged or destroyed. Saaz, Czech Republic: Damage to 325 acres is also reported from the Saaz growing region, with 175 acres suffering severe and 150 acres moderate damage. 500 acres in that region was more or less hurt The total effect to the German crop could be in the neighbourhood of 15% or close to 5000 metric tons. The storm is another reminder of the risks taken by hop farmers.

WHY DRINK AT LUNCH? Gothic kittens – piercing revisited

Dead Guy in a Dead Guy?

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A Pennsylvania woman was busted by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after marketing “gothic kittens” with ear, neck and tail piercings over the Internet.

Rogue’s Athletic Director was approached by a very earnest woman who told him her husband had recently passed away, and he was a diehard fan of Dead Guy Ale. So much so, that she had his ashes stored in a 64 oz. Dead Guy container (empty, of course). Then, with a group of close friends and sufficient bottles of Dead Guy, they took his ashes to his favorite lake in Eastern Oregon and scattered them, memorializing the occasion with the remaining beer.

Dog groomer Holly Crawford, 34, was charged Tuesday by humane officers and has said she will plead innocent. “When I did it, it wasn’t with any cruel intentions,” said Crawford. “They were definitely loved, well-fed, no fleas, clipped nails. And they were happy.” Crawford, who has her own body piercings, decided on a whim to pierce the ears and neck of a stray kitten she took in last fall and named Snarley Monster.

Harness the Power of Beer (and Urine)

Pass the Ball, Not Gas A player on the english soccer league Chorlton Villa received a yellow card for breaking wind while his opponent took a penalty kick.

Halibut’s Wandering Eye When halibut are larvae, they migrate through hundreds of miles of rough currents by latching onto plankton. And when they’re 6 months old, their body parts begin a migration. The left eye moves until its joins the right eye on the right side of the halibut’s head, leaving the left side blind so the fish is asymmetrical. The migration doesn’t stop there - the right side of the fish will develop dark pigment while the left side goes light. The eye and pigment migrations leave the fish no choice but to swim on its side, forever more.

Silencing of the Lambs: Scientists Target Sheep Belching to Cut Methane

Y T L I U G

Researchers in New Zealand are coaxing hungry sheep into sealed chambers where they feed them grass and wait for them to belch methane, a greenhouse gas now believed to contribute to climate change. Many people, including farmers, think this is BS, and fear that new regulations could follow, and that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency might one day seek to tax bovine belches.

Japanese company Aqua Power System has developed a battery that can be recharged using fluids such as apple juice, beer, saliva and urine. The battery is called NoPoPo (Non-Pollution Power) and works using a combination of carbon and magnesium, which, when combined with certain fluids, generates electricity Beer or urine can be injected into the battery with the help of a special pipette. The new product is already enjoying good sales at USD15 per item.

Cyber Rogue Meet Coop, the newest member of the Rogue Nation. Thanks to mom Jessica Holt from Clovis, California for sending the photo of the littlest Rogue. An Issaquah Press article begins, “A Rogue Chipotle Ale may be something that sounds a bit odd to request during church, but a deeper well is just what members of the Our Savior Lutheran Church are looking for.” The congregation holds meetings at The Issaquah Brew House. A loyal Virginia Rogue, Paul Wright, sent us this photo of his friend Nathan, and faithful companion Lila, posing with Yellow Snow brew. He’d never had the beer before, but happened to be dressed exactly like this when Paul arrived at his house. He now loves Yellow Snow IPA. Steve Mitchell asks Rogue to offer shirts in size small: “Not every fan of your beer is a blubbery fatass.” Todd Kelly wrote: “If I wanted to buy up the entire stock of Rogue in San Francisco, create a shortage panic, and sell the stuff on the black market (minus what I need to consume to stay alive), what stores would I need to go to?” Nic Truscott wrote: “Thanks to Rogue, I now have a favorite beer... your Chocolate Stout! I tried it about a month ago at McKay’s Pub in Bellingham and was amazed at what I was tasting. It has been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. As a homebrewer I am definitely going to try and imitate your chocolate stout to have on tap in my kegerator.”

WHO MAKES YOUR BEER?

1. Newport’s 125th Anniversary ale. 2. The Portland State University commemorative IPA - not for sale. 3. Celebrating 100 years of friendship between Japan and Oregon.

There is beer confusion by some consumers with InBev’s (aka Bud’s) American ale and Rogue American Amber ale. There should not be any confusion. Pop the cap and taste them. Another clue: Rogue is not in every retail nook and cranny and we do not advertise in main stream print or TV.

4. Oregon’s 150th birthday commemorative Rogue ale.

ROGUE SPIRIT rogue gets in the spirit Spruce Gin What is gin made with? Not just Juniper. Rogue Spirits Spruce Gin is made with 14 ingredients: spruce, cucumbers, angelica root, orange peel, coriander, lemon peel, ginger, orris root, grains of paradise, tangerine, juniper berries, yeast, corn and free range coastal water.

Spruce Gin was awarded 2 Double Gold medals by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition — the first comprehensive, international spirits judging ever held in the United States on an annual basis. With over 700 spirits from 52 countries, this is the largest spirits competition in America.

Pink Gin What do you get when you marry the best American gin and world class Oregon Pinot Noir barrels? Pink Gin, the latest world class spirit from Rogue. Rogue master distiller John Couchot ocean ages his award-winning Spruce Gin in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels at Rogue’s Newport, OR House of Spirits to create a new, slightly fruity, mellow gin with a pink hue The Beverage Testing Institute rates Pink Gin “Highly Recommended,” describing it as: “Slightly hazy pale topaz color. Spice cake with lemon frosting, nutty praline, and resiny tree bark aromas. A round, lightly tannic entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body of cinnamon, cream, minerals, and lemon curd. Finishes with a sweet spiced nut, lemon thyme, and wet sandalwood fade. Interesting flavors; try as a substitute for spiced rum in cocktails and toddies.”

Dead Guy Whiskey Can you make whiskey out of beer? Rogue’s Dead Guy family has a whole new spirit—Dead Guy Whiskey, created on the Pacific Ocean and Yaquina Bay in a multi-step process. Dead Guy Whiskey is made with GYO CERTIFIED barley from the McAllister Appellation in Tygh Valley, Oregon. Northwest Harrington, Maier Munich, Klages, and Carastan malts are combined with Free Range Coastal Water in a 100 BBL 3,000 gallon brew system. Distiller’s yeast is then added to the wort, fermented, and then hauled across the parking lot to the Rogue House of Spirits (est. 2006) where its double-distilled by Master distiller John Couchot in a 150 gallon Vendome copper pot still and then aged in charred American white oak barrels. Dead Guy Whiskey is created with the same 4 grains used to make Dead Guy Ale, which was created in the early 1990s to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (Nov. 2nd, All Souls Day). Dead Guy Whiskey has already received critical acclaim – placing 3rd in the World Beverage Competition in Geneva, Switzerland, competing against spirits from 25 different countries. Now available in limited quantities and markets in a 750 ml serigraphed bottle.

Hazelnut Rum

Rogue Hazelnut Spiced Rum is created with 9 ingredients: Toasted Oregon Hazelnuts, Bitter Orange Peel, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon, Clove, Hawaiian Cane Sugar, Dried Ginger, Champagne Yeast, and Free Range Coastal Water. 2008 World Beverage Competition - Gold, Geneva 2008 International Review of Spirits - Silver 2008 International Wine & Spirits Competition - Silver, Best In Class 2008 International Rum Festival - Bronze 2007 American Distilling Institute Rum Competition - Best of Show, Best American Rum 2007 American Distilling Institute Rum Competition - Gold

TS AND ALES celebrate more maier and halloween in the dark MAIERFEST LAGER Rogue is celebrating the unrestrained brewing versatility of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier with the release of Maierfest, a German style lager. Over several visits to Germany, the land of his heritage, John tasted traditional German lager styles and decided to brew one he felt lived up to the best Munich brewery character. John’s Maierfest Lager is dark gold in color with a solid off-white foam stand, a rich German malt aroma and a very distinct and complex maltness with a dry finish. Staying true to the German style, this new Rogue is brewed using a strain of yeast which is a blend of lager strains designed to produce a rich, malty, complex and full bodied beer that attenuates well while leaving plenty of malt character and mouth feel. Maierfest Lager will be available nationwide in serigraphed 22oz bottles and on draft starting in August, 2009. It is brewed using 7 ingredients; Durst Pilsner, Durst Munich and Weyermann Acidulated Malts; Rogue Farms GYO Certified Revolution and Maverick Hops from the Independence Appellation, Free Range Coastal Water and Oktoberfest 2633 yeast. Rogue’s ales, lagers, porters and stouts are brewed using no chemicals, additives or preservatives. Maierfest Lager’s brewing specifications are: 14 degrees Plato, 77 AA, 29 IBU, 4.2 degrees Lovibond.

DEAD GUY ALE - IT GLOWS! Rogue is ready for the season! Rogue’s Dead Guy Ale is available on draft and in six packs, and just in time for the Day of the Dead, the 22oz bottles and 64oz growlers Glow-in-the-Dark. Also available for purchase are Glow-in-the-Dark Dead Guy hats and yo-yos, Rogue Strong wristbands, and t-shirts. A Gold Medal winner at the World Beer Championships, Dead Guy Ale was described by their judges as “Deep reddish amber hue. Generous toasty malt aromas and earthy hops follow through on a moderately full-bodied palate with fruity accents and a long spicy hop finish. A delicious hybrid style with bock-like maltiness but alelike hopping.” Another Dead Guy: Dead Guy Whiskey, made with the same 4 grains as Dead Guy ale.

Rogue on the black market? Rogue mysteriously ended up in Saipan, the largest island and capital of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a chain of 15 tropical islands in the Pacific Ocean with an area of 44 sq mi.

According to the 2000 census, there are 62,392 people in Saipan, and according to Bob Pease’s sisterin-law, there are, somehow, these Rogue Ales: Brutal Bitter, Mocha Porter, Dead Guy, Chocolate Stout and The countries may be new to Rogue, but selling abroad Juniper Pale Ale. isn’t: Rogue has been exporting its lineup of ales for years, beginning in Japan in 1993. Since then, it expanded to Canada (Albera, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec), and continues to expand with shipments to the 51st state of the union, Puerto Rico. Rogue Nation will continue to expand into more countries to further gain support for its pending application for admission to the United Nations.

Rogue Nation announced a stimilus plan to help citizens during these tough times. Each day, in each pub, two customers will have their bill paid for by Rogue. See the stimulus package at work in San Francisco:

Take the Rogue Nation pledge and become a citizen of this great nation: Raise your left hand, have a Rogue brew in your right hand, and repeat, “Four score and eight months ago, our forefathers set forth to build a new brewery, dedicated to the proposition that all beers are NOT created equal. They need not be tasteless, or served ice cold to mask the lack of malts and hops. God bless Brewer and may John Maier live long and prosper. I (state your name) am now a Rogue.”

Rogue Community Integration Rogue Nation Bail Out Program

Among its arguments for recognition: coins and currency, passports, national ID cards, stamps, license plates, a flag, a constitution, a national past time, a literary journal, a farm and a pledge. More importantly, Rogue Nation is an expression of a shared culture and language that unites its citizens in a common bond.

Take the Pledge with President Big Al

Rogue Goes to the Birds: Rogue released a Janet Wallace wrote: “At the end of the evening, when the Steelers had won the 43rd Superbowl and we were sufficiently stuffed and tipsy, the Rogue staff informed us that we had been selected as their Economic Bailout Party. Rogue bailed us out of our bill! Everything we had ordered, from the piles of fries to the pints of beer, were on the house. They snapped our photo and sent us on our way, our wallets (and our bellies!) a tiny bit fatter than anticipated.”

Rogue Gets Clean, Feeds Cows 1. John Maier brews Dead Guy ale, then gives his spent grain to Willamette Valley Cheese Co., which feeds their cows, who then produce dairy that makes craft cheese. 2. Yes We Can! Strap on your snow shoes and keep your eye out this winter for Rogue’s Yellow Snow IPA in a 5 Liter Can. The can uses a convenient “Pull and Turn” tapping system that makes this the perfect gift to share with friends at the mountain, the lodge, or the local motel. Yellow Snow is Rogue’s tribute to winter sports everywhere—downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country, ice hockey, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and even curling. Rogue Class of 1988 Some Rogues were there since the very beginning. These are a few of the people who helped make those first craft brews out of an unheard of brewery called Rogue in Newport, Oregon. John Maier - The reason we’re all here... Rogue’s master brewer was there to brew the first batch of Rogue ale and he’s been on the brewery floor ever since.

Mo Niemi - She met founder Jack Joyce during a snow storm, and rented him a place onthe bayfront, under one condition - that this naked picture of herself hang on the wall as long as Rogue Ales were being poured. It still hangs at the Bayfront pub. Chuck Linquist - Chuck’s truck got stuck outside the Bayfront pub, and he was offered a job with Rogue over beers while he waited out the blizzard. Chuck stayed at Rogue, and his son, Nate, has followed in his footsteps.

Meet Brad Shell More than just a Kobe Bleu Ball eating champion... meet Rogue’s production guy

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD

Brad, aka Ma Deuce, comes from Sweetwater Brewing, where he started out stacking cases as a “newb” and worked his way up over the course of 3 years to bottling lead, bottling manager, assistant manager of all operations. Brad has a tendency to get in way over his head, dig his way out, and enjoys being chased around production areas by someone holding a gun. Brad likes it when his hair is on fire. This is Brad’s second stint on the West Coast - the first came when he was 17 and left Atlanta, GA for California with $75 bucks in his pocket. He lasted 3 years, went crazy, and moved back to Georgia. When Brad took the job at Rogue, his girlfriend decided to make the move to Beervana with him. She’s now his fiancé. She spends her days calling friends in Georgia, telling them about Oregon, and befriending the beaver that lives under their dock. The beaver has been named “Catfish.” Why beer? “I love beer production because it mixes so many skills from biology, chemistry, mechanics, logistics, business, sales, leadership, and drinking skills.” What surprises Brad about working for the Rogue Nation? How passionate everyone is about the beer, and “how off-centered and honestly bat shit crazy everyone is.”

Jack Joyce responded to the ad, and meetings commenced at Beth’s dining room table, which was quickly surrounded by “a zillion wads of crumpled-up paper.” Nate Linquist, Chuck’s son, came on as a brewer with a fondness for filling vats with water and hot tubbing during the summer. Rogue’s Vicious Circle

It’s Better To Drink Beer After Exercise Than Water

The Rogue literati meets monthly at the Bed and Beer

Researchers at Granada University in Spain have discovered something that will please athletes and sports enthusiasts - a pint of beer post-workout is better at rehydrating the human body than water. Professor Manuel Garzon, a member of Granada’s medical faculty, made the finding after tests on 25 students over several months. Researchers believe that it is the sugars, salts, and bubbles in a beer that may help people absorb fluids more quickly. The subjects in the study were asked to run on a treadmill at temperatures of 104F (40C) until they were close to exhaustion. Once they had reached the point of giving up, researchers measured their hydration levels, motor skills, and concentration ability. Half of the subjects were given two half pints of Spanish lager to drink, and the other half were given just water.

Garzon said that the rehydration effection in those who were given beer was “slightly better” than those who were given only water. He also believes that the carbon dioxide in beer helps quench thirst more quickly, and that beer’s carbohydrates replace calories lost during physical exertion.

Rogue By Danielle Steele

The average person loses around 1 liter of water for every hour of exercise in sweat. Rehydration is crucial, as a lack of hydration can cause exhaustion, fuzzyheadedness, and headaches.

“Steele... keeps the pages turning and offers a satisfying twist at book’s end that most readers won’t see coming.”

Based on the results of the study, researchers recommend a daily dose of beer as a part of athletes’ diets. “Moderate consumption” for men is 500ml per day, and for women is 250ml per day. That explains why Babe Ruth was so good. His strict beer regimen was nearly 100 years ahead of his time.

Indie Beer Festival - August 15. Event will feature small batch brewers in a block party focused on small, artisan brewers from the Pacific Northwest.

“Ode to the Rogue,” a poem by Ashton Cermak

Babe Ruth’s funeral took place on a sweltering August day. His pallbearers and former Yankee teammates, Joe Dugan and Waite Hoyt, were sweating in their heavy suits and Dugan whispered, “I’d give a hundred dollars for a beer.” Waite Hoyt replied “So would the Babe.”

With a challenging career plus a perfect new man in her life, the last thing she wants to deal with is her infuriating, irresistible ex-husband.

“Steele’s... plots are excellent, and this one is no exception.”

Rogue ales poured at the 7th annual Battle of the Bands, where 11 bands competed for the number one spot. The most asked question: What is Soba? Answer: Soba (also known as buckwheat) is not a type of wheat but a member of the rhubarb family and has been a longtime staple of Japanese cuisine because of its nutritional value. The fruits of the buckwheat plant are like small beechnuts, which are milled to separate the edible groats from the dark brown hulls. The groats are then roasted and used more or less like a grain. Soba is used in our Morimoto Soba ale, which was created with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Beer Chef Bruce Patton pictured with Brewmaster John Maier
