PAINTING (HOPPERIANA)

Quando qualche amico vedrà questa pubblicazione, da buon “purista” si chiederà e mi chiederà se ho finito di giocare e se non è il momento di fare le cose serie. Altri diranno che questa non è più fotografia ma grafica. Forse, anzi sicuramente, hanno ragione tutti. Ma la verità è che non ho resistito. Photoshop è un grande strumento, e nelle mani di persone come il sottoscritto riesce sempre a divertire, unico limite il buon gusto. Diciamo che non avevo altro da fare e così per gioco mi sono inventato queste immagini tanto vicine all’Arte Pittorica quanto più distanti dal vero. Solo qualche tasto e colpo di mouse e il gioco è fatto. Quello che ne è uscito, come si dice in gergo, sono dei volgarissimi “Fake”, non ho inventato nulla. Ho solo applicato qualche filtro a delle mie immagini già pubblicate in modo normale e che mi sembravano adatte ad un tema o meglio ad uno stile molto vicino ad un grandissimo maestro della pittura quale è Edward Hopper, che ha ispirato generazioni di pittori, fotografi e cineasti in tutto il mondo e continua ad affascinare ancora oggi con le sue opere per l’immediatezza e il realismo che da esse sprigiona. Ecco perché il sottotitolo Hopperiana, per indicare la fonte di ispirazione che mi ha fortemente spinto a creare queste immagini le quali non hanno nessuna pretesa, hanno il solo intento di essere un esperimento o meglio, un “Petit Amusement”, da parte mia (e spero vostra) e null’atro. Gabriele Rodriquez (Verona 1960) Vive a Verona, Italia. Sposato con 3 figli. Docente di materie aziendali fino al 1997. Esercita la professione di Dottore Commercialista dal 1990. Prestato alla fotografia, fin da giovane questa è diventata un’attività che via via si è rivelata più che una passione, più che un semplice hobby. La fotografia ha riempito probabilmente un’area della sua vita culturale che gli studi seguiti hanno solo sfiorato. Nel corso della sua attività ha conseguito 52 primi premi in vari contest nelle varie piattaforme specialistiche di cui 2 internazionali, varie mostre singole e collettive, relatore in varie occasioni divulgative di incontri con l’autore. Amante di reportage in genere e di viaggio nello specifico. Gabriele Rodriquez (Verona 1960) He lives in Verona, Italy. Married with three children. Teacher of business subjects until 1997. He practices as a chartered accountant since 1990. On loan to photography from a young age this has become an activity that gradually proved more than a passion, more than just a hobby. Photography has probably filled area of his life that cultural studies pursued have toed. During his career he earned 52 awards in various contests in the various specialized platforms including 2 international awards, individual and collective exhibitions, speaker at various occasions of outreach meetings with authors. Lover of reportage in general and travel in particular.

PAINTING (HOPPERIANA)

When some friends will see this publication, as a good “purist” sure ask me if I finished playing and if it is not the time to do serious things. Others will say that this is not photography but graphic. Perhaps, indeed certainly, are right everyone. But the truth is that I could not resist. Photoshop is a great tool, and in the hands of people like myself always manages to entertain, limited only by good taste. Let’s say I had nothing else to do, and just for fun I made up these images so close to Art of Painting the more distant from the truth. Only a few mouse button and blow and you’re done. What came out, as they say in the jargon, are the vulgar “Fake”, I have not invented anything. I just applied some filter of my pictures already published in a normal and that seemed appropriate for a theme or rather to a style very close to a great master of painting which is Edward Hopper, who inspired generations of painters, photographers and filmmakers around the world and it continues to fascinate today with his works for the immediacy and realism that emanates from them. That’s why the subtitle Hopperiana, to indicate the source of inspiration which has greatly inspired me to create these images which do not have any claim, have the sole purpose of being an experiment or rather, a “Petit Amusement”, on my part (and I hope yours) and nothing.
