As Wikpedia mentions, the Synapse is a highly specialized structure that allows the communication of nervous tissue cells with each other (neurons) or with other cells (muscle, sensory or endocrine glands). Through synaptic transmission, the nerve impulse (action potential) can travel from one neuron to another or from one neuron to a fiber, for example. muscle (neuromuscular junction). In less technical words, the synapse can fully be considered the fundamental part of the human brain that transforms experience into meaning. This book has the presumption of transmitting to the sensory receptors of the user something more than just the chemical or electrical process. It wants to convey an emotion, or rather, a network of stimuli and perhaps reflections, possibly pleasant.
