Mix & Match Season Tickets and single tickets for fall semester events are on sale starting Sept. 3 through the Fredonia Campus Ticket Office in the Williams Center. Call (716) 673-3501 (office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or order online 24/7 at fredonia.edu/tickets. The online ticketing platform now allows you to select specific seats and generate print-at-home tickets or tickets that can be uploaded to your mobile device. Dear Arts Enthusiast:

The launch of a new season brings a feeling that is hard to beat! We are so excited to share the highlights of our 2024-25 programming with you in our annual entertainment guide.

The 2024-25 Lake Shore Savings Season kicks off in September and continues through commencement-eve in May and the highlights are sure to be countless.

This publication from Rockefeller Arts Center is your guide to the major ticketed events including the Walter Gloor Mainstage Series shows produced by the Department of Theatre and Dance, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra Classics Series, the DFT Communications Pops Series, School of Music special events and major Marion Art Gallery exhibitions.

We are also pleased to continue the tradition of hosting free concerts with United States military bands when the U.S. Navy Band Commodores come to campus in October. The Commodores include vocalist Kristine Hsia, a Fredonia graduate!

In addition, you will find listings for more than 60 free School of Music ensemble concerts and the art exhibitions by students in the Department of Visual Arts and New Media.

Tradition Interrupted explores the methods used by artists to conflate contemporary ideas with traditional art and craft in a range of media from rugs and quilts to metal and ceramic. This exhibition was organized by Bedford Gallery, Walnut Creek, Calif. Participating artists are Anila Quayyum Agha (Pakistan), Faig Ahmed (Azerbaijan), Camille Eskell (New York), Mounir Fatmi (France, Morocco), Ana Gomez (Mexico), Shirin Hosseinvaud (Iran), Dinh Q. Love the classic sounds of Frankie Valli, The Drifters, The Del Vikings? Ever wonder what Adele, Jason Mraz, and Garth Brooks would sound like if they had lived in the Doo Wop era? Meet The Doo Wop Project, a group of talented, charismatic and engaging Broadway stars from shows such as Jersey Boys, A Bronx Tale and Motown: The Musical who trace the evolution of Doo Wop from those classic sounds of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner or in the subway to the biggest hits being played on media today. PBS was impressed enough to produce The Doo Wop Project’s show as a one-hour special.

The Commodores, the Navy’s premier jazz ensemble, will perform in a free concert featuring vocalist Kristine Hsia, a 2010 Fredonia graduate. Their concerts are described as “an eclectic mix of traditional big band music, exciting jazz vocal arrangements and fresh new instrumental music” written specifically for the Commodores of today. Limited to four tickets per person.

This upbeat celebration of self-discovery and female empowerment is based on the 2001 smash hit film. This high-energy, all singing and dancing musical adaptation has delighted audiences since its hugely successful Broadway run in 2007. It follows our heroine Elle Woods as she takes on Harvard Law School and discovers she’s capable of “So Much Better” than she had realized. As Musical Theatre International describes, it’s “so much fun, it should be illegal!”

Eyes as Big as Plates is an ongoing series of collaborative photographs by FinnishNorwegian artist and activists Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth. Initially influenced by Norwegian folklore, Ikonen and Hjorth state the goal of the project is to “generate new perspectives on who we are and where we belong.” Each image in the series presents a solitary figure in a landscape, dressed in elements from surroundings that indicate neither time nor place. Here nature acts as both content and context: characters literally inhabit the landscape wearing sculptures they create in collaboration with the artists

Alicia’s Lens is a devised piece that follows the journey of Alicia, a determined photographer striving to complete her series City Chronicles: Unseen Faces for an upcoming exhibition in a prestigious gallery. Delving into an underground world inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and Jorge Millas’ Escenas inéditas de Alicia en el país de las maravillas (Unpublished Scenes from Alice in Wonderland ), Alicia encounters iconic characters such as the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, and the White Rabbit. Through her lens, she documents surreal experiences, blending contemporary realism with Carroll’s fantastical universe.

WHEN WILL TICKETS GO ON SALE?

Mix and Match Season Tickets are on sale now. Select at least three events from the major ticketed events for the entire 2024-25 season and save up to 15 to 25% of normal ticket prices. Visit fredonia.edu/rac for details. Single tickets for fall semester events go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 3.

HOW DO I GET TICKETS?

In Person: Tickets may be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Williams Center, 301 Old Main Drive. Parking spaces are available near the bus shelter. Regular hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No service fees are charged for in-person sales.

By Telephone and online: Tickets may be charged to major credit cards by calling (716) 673-3501 during the above regular hours. (Toll free: 1-866-441-4928.) For online sales 24/7, please visit fredonia.edu/tickets. A service fee of $6.00 per order will apply to all phone and online orders. Our online ticket platform now offers you the ability to select specific seats and print tickets at home or upload them to a mobile device.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Late Seating: Please be in your seat before the time printed on your ticket. Latecomers will only be seated during intervals designated by the artists. In Bartlett Theatre, because of the intimacy of the space, late seating may not occur until the intermission.

Children: Out of consideration for artists and other patrons, parents are requested not to bring infants or children who are unable to sit quietly through the performance. Every child, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

Photography and Electronic Devices: The use of cameras or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited. Cell phone or lap top computer use is also prohibited, including text messaging, picture taking, and video recording. Personal electronic devices should be turned off, or set to silent mode.

About our Ticketing System

Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall

Many School of Music events take place in the Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall, located within Mason Hall. Mason Hall is located directly adjacent to Rockefeller Arts Center and is acesssible through a climatecontrolled connector. Seating in Rosch Recital Hall is general admission.

The Fredonia Campus Ticket Office has a new platform for sales that allows patrons to select their own seats online, print tickets at home and/or upload their tickets to a mobile device to be scanned at the venue. Please note there is a service fee of $6.00 per order for online and telephone sales.
