This original exhibition coordinated by the Marion Art Gallery and curated by Yvonne Grzenkowicz Founder and Executive Director of Animation Nights New York (ANNY), features animated films from nine different countries. Included are 2D, 3D, stop-motion, and virtual reality animated films from artists in the United Kingdom, Serbia; Ukraine, Portugal/Spain, Ireland, Bolivia/Germany, the United States, the Netherlands and China. All of these artists have participated in ANNY.

How does institutional architecture function as a form of social control? In her latest painting series Denver artist Sarah McKenzie explores prison interiors and the impact of the criminal justice system on the incarcerated. The exhibition will include artwork by her students from the University of Denver’s Prison Arts Initiative. McKenzie is the recipient of the 2021 Fredoina College Foundation Marion International Fellowship.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters from The Brothers Grimm and bring them together for a relevant modern classic featuring a Tony Award-winning book and score. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. Everyone’s wish is granted - but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them.

The 7th annual piano competition brings 10-12 gifted young pianists to the stage to showcase their uniquely designed programs. Finalists are selected from a large pool of applicants, many traveling from across the US and abroad to compete for $8,000 in cash prizes. Each Finalist will perform 7-10 minutes of solo repertoire for a panel of judges and live audience. Winners will be announced following a short break, and a reception will follow. This event is made possible thanks to generous support from The Sorel Organization, named for the late pianist and SUNY Distinguished Professor Claudette Sorel.

Mis/Communication: The Power of Language in Contemporary Art
Curated by Amy Kahng, this exhibition examines a variety of communication issues such as the global predominance of English; the colonial violence of European languages in the global south; and the societal tendency to censure other languages, dialects and linguistic practices. Participating artists consider spoken and written language as defined by national or cultural linguistic traditions like Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese; indigenous languages like Bété, Cherokee, and Marra; as well as non-verbal and non-standard communication like American Sign Language, performative body language, “academic speak,” and Artificial Intelligence voice recognition programs.

SCHOOL OF MUSIC VISITING ARTIST RESIDENCY
The Sorel Visiting Artist residency features Dr. Chen Yi, international distinguished professor of composition. She will be on campus September 14-17 and again February 1-4 for performances, panel discussions, master classes, and collaboration with Fredonia students, faculty, and community. A native of China, Dr. Chen’s music features a vibrant interaction of the cultural references of both her youth in China and her career in the United States. Dr. Chen’s music has been commissioned and performed by many of the greatest artists and ensembles of our time including Yehudi Menuhin, Yo-Yo Ma, Evelyn Glennie, the Cleveland Orchestra, the BBC and Singapore Orchestras among others. WHEN WILL TICKETS GO ON SALE?
Mix and Match Season Tickets are now on sale. Select at least three events from the major ticketed events for the entire 2022-23 season and save up to 15 to 25% of normal ticket prices. Visit fredonia.edu/rac for details. Single tickets for fall semester in this brochure go on sale August 22; for spring semester, the date is January 23.
HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
In Person: Tickets may be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Williams Center. Parking spaces are available near the bus shelter. Regular hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No service fees are charged for in-person sales.
By Telephone and online: Tickets may be charged to major credit cards by calling (716) 673-3501 during the above regular hours. (Toll free: 1-866-441-4928.) For online sales 24/7, please visit fredonia.edu/tickets. A $6.00 service fee will apply to all phone and online orders. The online ticket platform now offers the ability to select specific seats and print tickets at home or upload them to a mobile device.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Late Seating: Please be in your seat before the time printed on your ticket. Latecomers will only be seated during intervals designated by the artists. In Bartlett Theatre, because of the intimacy of the space, late seating may not occur until the intermission.
Children: Out of consideration for artists and other patrons, parents are requested not to bring infants or children who are unable to sit quietly through the performance. Every child, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
Photography and Electronic Devices: The use of cameras or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited. Cell phone or lap top computer use is also prohibited, including text messaging, picture taking, and video recording. Personal electronic devices should be turned off, or set to silent mode.

Many School of Music events take place in the Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall , located within Mason Hall. Mason Hall is located directly adjacent to Rockefeller Arts Center and is acesssible through a climatecontrolled connector. Enter at the northwest corner of Rockefeller. Seating in Rosch Recital Hall is general admission.
The Fredonia Campus Ticket Office has a new platform for sales that allows patrons to select their own seats online, print tickets at home and/or upload their tickets to a mobile device to be scanned at the venue. Please note there is a $6.00 service fee for online and telephone orders.
