The following renderings are the particular works I created for this project. These were used as quick visualizations to show the client the potential of the spacial experience and overall directed vision. The deadline for creation, development, and finalization of these perspectives was three days. The client visited and was thrilled with these results which the team and I had assembled. We were hired to create story boards for the client with these perspectives in order to discuss the plans with the city and these plans and renders were then featured on the local evening news.

1. ACADEMIC PROJECTS

PRESIDENTIAL RESIDENCE TRANSFUSIVE v. to transfer or pass from one to another; transmit; instill: v. to cause to be instilled or imparted:

As wood manufactured products are developed, so are the techniques of assembly. This project was a competition hosted by a conglomeration of Idaho forest companies. It specifically looked at innovative ways of using wood products. My particular studio added to this by making it a requirement to design a beautiful net zero structure. The project proved challenging as multiple parties were involved as the ‘client’ since this is the presidential residence of the University of Idaho. Since there was no single client, I learned to coordinate ideas and requirements with the current president of the university, the university itself, and the local, state, and federal government regulations. The results are based off of these interactions and the relationship between what is both a public building and private residence as the structure function as the president’s private residence and a location for the many events he holds throughout the year.

URBAN EPIPHYTES In Progress Final Thesis Project epiphyte; n. a plant that derives its moisture and nutrients from the air and rain and grows usually on another plant

In recent years there has been a developing cultural paradigm shift involving the American dream as there is a realization that the current iteration of the dream is one of wasteful living and unnecessary irresponsibility. What would a new, shifting version of the dream look like in the future? My thesis project is a visionary exploration of future possibilities based in San Fransisco on the core of the Crown Zellerbach building. It brings into question the urban condition, advanced material development, and high manufacturing methods and techniques. Using epiphytic attachment as a catalysis to address the possibilities of the future, we begin to see a bidding to call into question the redefining of what we may consider to be a normal urban renewal process. This method would allow for redensification of cities, limit material waste through less amount of used material and posses stronger properties, and the ability to precisely design the exact spaces clients need to live comfortably.

2. DESIGN BUILD

STARRY LIGHT Parametric Construction Exploration As

manufacturing precision increases

exponentially , we must look at new ways to integrate design with the existing context , and we must question the current method of communicating these advanced techniques .

From

ready to build kits to

pre - manufactured products , the industry standards of instructional assembly seem to fall short .

Using

two dimensional

representations for extremely complex three dimensional forms is counterintuitive .

This

piece is an exploration on this

topic and set out to accomplish three things :

1.

Explore

how complex

a form can be made through randomization and successfully integrating it with an existing intervention

2.

Address

various

techniques of physically creating a form in the simplest way possible

3.

Use

an alternative

approach for effectively communicating assembly

The

materials used were only chipboard ,

trace paper , wooden dowels and glue .

What

i chose to integrate with was an existing florescent light box fixture and the results are as follows .
