Town and County Partner on Alumni Building The Allen City council met for their regular meeting on Monday, November 3, 2014. Present were Mike Todd, Dianna Brannan, Rhonda Skelton and Joy Anderson. Board member Del Johnson was absent. The claims and the minutes from the previous month

were approved. During the previous months meeting Kala Stephens was appointed as the City Clerk and during the November meeting her bond was approved and Kala performed the Oath of Office. . The Board transferred

approximately $50,000 from the Court fund into the general fund. The Court fund is a culmination of traffic and other fines that are funneled through the Allen Municipal Court system. Police Officer Dwayne McKinzie resigned from the force, and police chief Sanford is in the process of filling the position. In other business the board voted to release the Allen Community Building to Pontotoc County. The current Pontotoc County fire tax also has a provision for the Allen Nutrition Site, so funds have been increasing to improve the Site building. Commissioner Gary Starns has offered to use these funds to locate the site in the continued Page 2

Allen FCCLA Dominates at National Meeting

F a m i l y, C a r e e r a n d Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) brought more than 2,800 of its student leaders, members and advisers to Little Rock November 13th through

the 16th to participate in the largest of three regional conferences – known as National Cluster Meetings - being held around the country this month. Amery Dickerson, Taryn Wofford,

Hannah Heck, Charlea Leonard, and Grace Laden represented Allen High School FCCLA at this conference. The meetings provided an opportunity for students and

advisers to come together for fun and to listen to inspiring speakers, as well as to expand leadership skills, sharpen talents and explore career pathways. The theme of this year’s conference

was “Together We Are FCCLA” and attendees were challenged to come together as FCCLA members to continue to make a difference continued Page 2
