Atwood Church of the Nazarene

Sunday was a beautiful Mother’s Day. We honored our mothers with flowers. Jami Cassell was the youngest present, Ruth DeShields was the oldest, and Irene Seeley received the basket for having the most children there. All mothers received potted plants when the service was over. We appreciate the Christian influence that these mothers have had and are having with their children. They will never regret bringing them to church. Our Atwood quartet sang “If I Could Only Hear My Mother Pray Again” for the special. Bro. Larry’s sermon was taken from Proverbs 31:25-31 and entitled “A Mother Worthy of Praise.” A good mother has her priorities in order. Her number one priority is her relationship with God. It is out of this relationship that all others flow. It is impossible to love others as we ought without loving God first. She makes her family a priority. Her primary role as a mother is to lead her children to faith in God. She is a blessing to her family. She exhibits beauty that is far more than skin deep. Our world needs more mothers who exhibit strong moral character. She knows what she believes and lives it out. She trusts in God no matter what the world may throw at her. A woman dedicated to God and acquainted with His Word will learn to live wisely. A good mother will learn to laugh. Laughter is a good medicine. Not a single mom has received all the recognition she deserves. We often fail to adequately express our appreciation. While you may not always feel loved or appreciated here, your contributions to the kingdom of God will be remembered in the courts of heaven. Live for that day! We want to remind you about our Bible School June 3-7 from 9-11:30. Our theme is: “Kingdom Rock-Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” It is for ages 4-12. Plan on bringing your children. We will have music, crafts, experiments, snacks and Bible study with Chaddar Chipmunk.
