25 school year, I’m delighted to ing the 2023-2024 school year. Chittenden County and chool with academic , p , g pportunities and a warm community rooted in family values. Rice is a special place with dedicated teachers who are here to serve the students and empower them to reach their God-given potential.

This year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to accomplish some major campus improvements. Our campus upgrades this summer include: replacement of our roof - a much needed update; a technology upgrade to our server room, increasing bandwidth and improving internet speeds; and we embarked on phase 1 of our campus improvement plan of installing a multi-sport turf field. This multi-sport field was completed this September.

We are deeply grateful for our teachers for the incredible work they do each day to have a positive impact on our students and to the Rice community of alumni, parents, and grandparents who help us surpass our annual fund goals by supporting the RiceCathedral Fund! A heartfelt thank you to 632 annual fund donors who contributed over $675,000, including 103 first-time donors. Your generosity not only provides essential funding for our budget, but also allows growth in our faculty and financial aid opportunities to students who would not be able to attend Rice without the extra support. The Rice extended family is very real - a special lifelong treasured connection.

We appreciate all that you do!

FOUR PILLARS

Rice Memorial High School is a Catholic preparatory school serving young men and women in the Burlington, Vermont area for over 100 years. Our mission encourages our students to discover their God-given potential and to recognize and develop their gifts through the love of learning, service of others, and to seek God. A Rice education focuses on these four pillars: faith, academic excellence, service to others, and community.

The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Vermont State Department of Education.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Rice curriculum provides skills necessary to meet the rigors of college and career readiness.

Historically, over 90% of students pursue a post-secondary education. 17 AP classes and 16 honors classes

Rice offers the prestigious Advancement Placement Capstone Diploma, the only Chittenden County school. This program fosters critical thinking and research skills.

Rice 2024 graduates enrolled in four-year colleges, the military, technical programs, junior hockey and some continued their education in their country of citizenship.

SERVICE TO OTHERS

FAITH

Rice's students and their families embrace our mission to love learning, seek God and to serve others. It is weaved into every aspect of life at Rice and reflected in the character our students develop and how they carry themselves inside and outside of school. Our foundation is built on kindness, respect and trust. Each day begins with a moment of silence, a reading from the Bible and Rice's mission prayer. The school gathers for Mass, sacraments, and prayer at least once a month.

In keeping with the importance of faith, all students engage in the Catholic intellectual tradition through religion classes, engaged by teachers who meet each student wherever they are at on their journey of faith.

FINANCIALS

rice's endowed funds at the vermont catholic community foundation

A fund can be established as a legacy or scholarship oftentimes in honor and/or in memory of a classmate, family or friend at Rice. Gifts in the amount of $25,000 or more can establish a named endowment fund. Once funds are established, gifts of any size can be made.

fitzgerald fuller Fund

This fund originally was established in honor of Helena and Adam Fuller for tuition assistance by Mary E. Fitzgerald and her siblings, Eileen Thomas and Michael Fuller. In 2007, Mary established the Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund in memory of her husband Dr. John R. Fitzgerald also for aiding students with financial aid. In 2018, these two funds combined to create the Fitzgerald Fuller Family Scholarship Fund held at the Vermont Catholic Community Foundation. With Mary's passing this past year, Rice received gifts to this fund in her memory to the fund.
