The Gallery at the Park, a new art gallery at the newly renovated Park Theatre in Union City, NJ re-opened Sept. 30. Extra gloves and trash bags will be on hand for those that need them. A trash picker tool will be provided by the Department of Public Works for each volunteer who has signed up. DPW Sanitation will collect filled trash bags after the event.

The Embankment Coalition will focus on the sidewalk areas on 6th Street and nearby intersecting streets.

The Embankment walls are not part of this effort, just the sidewalk area around them, and volunteers are asked not to disturb the structure.

Bayonne Police Chief Robert Geisler announced that the Bayonne Police Department is inviting residents to join them for coffee and conversation. The Coffee With A Cop event will take place on the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street, on the concrete area near the tennis courts, on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The discussion will include police officers from all ranks and several different divisions of the department. The lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park is located at the foot of West 16th Street between Avenue A and Newark Bay. Adults and students are both welcome to attend.

The mission of the nationwide Coffee With A Cop program is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.

Chief Geisler said, “The Bayonne Police Department looks forward to meeting the people we serve, answering their questions, and discussing their concerns. We want to talk with the public about improving safety and building a better community. The Coffee With A Cop program is a great way to have a dialogue with Bayonne residents.”

The Coffee With A Cop Program began with the Police Department of Hawthorne, California in 2001. Current and retired Hawthorne police officers staff the Coffee With A Cop program, a non-profit organization that assists police departments with community events across the nation.

The motto of Coffee With A Cop is “Building relationships. One cup at a time.”

In the event of inclement weather, Coffee With A Cop in Bayonne would be rescheduled.

NJ’s Largest Art Tour with 4 days of Gallery Exhibitions, Artist Talks, Demonstrations, and Performances, all from the Comfort of your own Home JCAST 2020 the 30th anniversary of the largest art tour in the state of New Jersey, was recently announced

by Jersey City Mayor Steven M.Fulop.

The Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST). has grown successfuly over the past 30 years and to celebrate the City of Jersey City is hosting a four-day extravaganza of virtual events from October 1 through October 4, 2020.

“Every year we are broadening the scope of JCAST to incorporate more and more new and upcoming artists, and as we go virtual for the first time this year, we have even more exciting art and events planned to mark our 30th anniversary. JCAST highlights Jersey City’s dynamic city culture by showcasing our unparalleled arts community and the incredibly talented artists who live and work here,” said Mayor Fulop. “The annual event always draws thousands of people from near and far, and I anticipate even more participation this year as we invite everyone to virtually experience our expansive gallery in a safe and comfortable way.”

For the first time, JCAST Live! will be held via Zoom,

studio tours, art demos, and panel discussions with artists, arts organizations, and collectives from all over Jersey City, in partnership with Art House Productions.

Features Virtual Tours and Live Performances Acclaimed musician Angelica Sanchez will perform at opening

The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Department of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) is celebrating diversity, and the visual and performing arts, this Fall with new exhibitions and live virtual performances.

The HCCC President’s Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (PACDEI), in partnership with the Anne Frank Center USA, presents the nationally renowned exhibition, “Anne Frank: A Private Photo Album,” with free virtual gallery tours from October 1 - 22. As an amateur photographer, Otto Frank had a single theme: his daughters, Anne and Margot. Mr. Frank used his Leica camera to snap his girls in familial settings at home, school, beachside, and more.

Nothing in Mr. Frank’s photographs reveals the horrors the family would endure during the Holocaust. The exhibition includes more than 50 reproduced photographs, many of which are seldom publicly displayed. More information on the tours is available by emailing gallery@hccc.edu.
