Frankenstein, screening at Art House in Jersey City on Sunday October 19

Eric B. Sirota’s Frankenstein, the movie musical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel, based on Sirota’s long-running OffBroadway musical, will be screened by Art House in Jersey City on Sunday, October 19 at 7:30 PM.

The 107-minute film will be followed by a talkback with writer/ composer Eric B. Sirota Based on Mary Shelley’s novel, FRANKENSTEIN, is a sweeping romantic musical about the human need for love and companionship. Having lost his mother at a young age, Victor Frankenstein seeks to end human mortality and arrogantly enters

territory beyond his control. While he enjoys unconditional love from Elizabeth, he grants none to his creation. Written and composed by Eric B. Sirota, this compelling, thoughtprovoking adaptation with passionate melodies and a “Phantomlike” award-winning score, was first produced onstage OffBroadway in NY, and ran for 3 years until the pandemic. BAYONNE BERGEN POINT FALL FESTIVAL

The City of Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and the Bergen Point merchants announced that the 2025 Bergen Point Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Bayonne from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. The event will include free live musical entertainment, free inflatables, balloon sculpture, facepainting, a caricaturist, a dog costume contest, a zip line, great food, and wonderful shopping opportunities by our Bergen Point merchants and specialty vendors.

UEZ Coordinator Jacqueline Farber said, “This festival is a wonderful event that brings attention to so many great businesses in Bergen Point and puts smiles on the faces of our attendees.” Ms. Farber continued, “Our goal is to make this event bigger and better each year.”

This annual festival of family fun takes place in the Bergen Point area located from 5th Street to Evergreen Street on Broadway. This event is close to the Bayonne Bridge, making it convenient for visitors from Staten Island. Residents of Staten Island are invited to walk or ride their bikes over the Bayonne Bridge to the festival. The event also provides new Bayonne residents the

opportunity to experience fun times in our hometown and a chance to get to know our local merchants. The entertainment Dave “Doc” Watson

12:00 noon-12:30 p.m.: Opening Ceremony. The National Anthem will be performed by Artist Avenue.

Scout Troop 27 will present the Flag Ceremony.

2:15 p.m.-3:15 p.m.: Music by the Dave “Doc” Watson Jazz Trio

4:45 p.m. -6:00 p.m. Music by Crash Gordon and Debra Dynamite Rockabilly and Rock ‘N Roll Band.

Registration for the dog costume contest starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Cottage Street stage. Bring your dogs in their favorite costume. Prizes will be awarded to the

first, second, and third place winners. There will be three trophies. The sponsors of the dog costume contest are our local animal clinics and hospitals, pet stores, and the UEZ.

The festival will feature shopping opportunities by the Bergen Point merchants and special vendors.

Bergen Point is the historic name for the southern end of Bayonne that is located near the Kill Van Kull. The festival is presented by the Bayonne UEZ, Mayor Jimmy Davis, the City Council, and the City of Bayonne.

The Hoboken Artists’s Studio Tour will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2nd from 12pm to 6pm. The Museum is a stop on the tour! Please note Hoboken Museum hours will be 12pm-5pm for the tour.

This free, self-guided walking tour offers participants a unique opportunity to explore local galleries, artists’ studios, public art, and group art exhibitions. The tour features the work of over 100 artists at over 30 different locations.

The tour will feature a wide range of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, multi-media work, ceramics, jewelry and more. Austin Wright Sr. Celebrates 40 Years of Martial Arts Excellence in Hudson County

On September 26, 2025, at the Chandelier Catering Hall in Bayonne, New Jersey, UWA Team Wright hosted a grand banquet honoring Grandmaster Austin Wright for his 40th year of dedication and achievement in the martial arts. The celebration brought together city officials, community leaders, and martial arts practitioners from across Hudson County. Grandmaster Wright received numerous commendations from local organizations, including the Bayonne Branch VFW Post 226, presented by Commander Glenn Flora Sr., Councilman Juan Perez, Loyad Booker, and Waterfront Montessori from Jersey City, represented by Karen Westman. Official proclamations were read by Councilman Perez and Mr. Booker on behalf of Mayor Jimmy Davis, recognizing Grandmaster Wright for his four decades of contributions to the development, discipline, and giving back to the community of youth, teens, and adults. Mayor Davis proclaimed that September 26, 2025, is now to be observed as “Martial Arts Honorees’ Day.” We had the honor of receiving a tournament scholarship from Mr. Robert “Bob” Knapp, who is the director of the Hudson County Welfare Department as well. During the ceremony, Grandmaster Wright presented honorary black belts to

Special awards were also given to Head Grandmaster Dennis Wright for his 70 years of worldwide martial arts dedication, as well as to Master Eulices Mateo and Sensei Joseph Bizarrouque for their outstanding achievements and leadership. The evening further highlighted U.S. National Martial Arts Team member champions under the direction of Grandmaster Wright Sr., who serves as the U.S. National and New Jersey State Martial Arts Director.

Director Alex Tobey in partnership with INKubator alumni playwrights Neil Levi and M. D. Schaffer, Art House Productions Executive Artistic Director Meredith Burns, and Art House Productions Producing Director Joshua Feder.
