HUDSON HAPPENINGS DVORA GALLERY PRESENTS THE DIGITAL MAP COLLAGES OF SCOT J. WITTMAN Wittman meticulously redraws digital maps of historic places of the world, then cuts and reforms the prints into classic and legendary portraits and whimsical figures.

Years ago, I developed a love of maps. To me maps are more than information; they provide a language of thought that hovers over the land, even away from the land. History and projection reveal cartography to be more about people and possibility rather than place and province.

-Scot Wittman In contrast to the wallsized portraits, Wittman’s small Silhouette Series images are full of color and drama. These maps, many

of which the artist collected from his European travels, now became locations of nostalgia and gothic romance.

Nimbus Dance bridges world-class performance and community engagement by presenting work that challenges, speaks to, and elevates diverse audiences.

Utilizing the distinct and interwoven platforms of professional company, school, Arts Center, and community outreach programming, Nimbus manifests a vision for dance and the arts as a catalyst for equity, community development and transformative cultural exchange.

Presented for the first time ever at the new Nimbus Arts Center, Nimbus Dance will offer 12 performances of the quirky and lovable adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s timeless classic, Nutcracker which takes place in Jersey City and weaves together themes of magic, adventure, family, and friendship.

The highly acclaimed Nimbus Dance performs against a dazzling backdrop of full-scale sets and fantastical projections of illustrated scenes. Audiences are transported across the city - through parks, lively avenues, deserted alleyways, the

sewers (for an epic battle scene!) and back to the City Hall, with surprises, cheer, and a message of hope and resilience along the way.

Choreographed

by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott, with animated scenic projections by Jersey City-based video artists, Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger, and a delightful libretto co-written by Alysia Souder and Mr. Pott, Jersey City Nutcracker takes audiences on a magical shopping-cartturned-sleigh-ride with twists and turns your whole family will enjoy!
