JCTC explores ORIGINS with Art, Performance and Discussion Month-Long Multi Media Event features Works by Ramapough Lenape Artists By Sally Deering
H
istorically,
the towns and cities of Hudson and the island of Manhattan, have always been a cultural rainbow of people living and working side-by-side whose ancestors hail from all parts of the world. Do their origins affect who they are and how they live today? Questions like this are the focus of the Jersey City Theater Center’s new monthlong multi-media (“Self Portrait” by Ramapough Lenape artist Jack Crying Raven Anderson of Westwood) event, ORIGINS, a series of art, film, theater and discussion that explores the topic in-depth.
