Over the years Jersey City has seen famous athletes like Jackie Robinson,Babe Didrikson and Jack Dempsey create Sports History.
In this exhibit at MJCH they remember those historical achievements and celebrate the Ball Parks, and Boxing Rings and the Hardwood Courts and Cinder Ovals that witnesses theses dramatic events
Visit https://www.mjchistory.com/
Minosa is a 7-month-old American Pitbull Terrier looking for her furrever home!
Mimosa can be nervous at first, still a little anxious about how big and scary the world can be, but she’s trying her best and always looking to make new friends! She’s still a puppy and working on her training, but she prefers to take in the world slower than a lot of dogs her age, enjoying a good nap or slow day in the sun. She’s friendly towards other dogs and
people, but she takes a little bit to really open up and show how great she is! She would be a perfect for a child to grow up with because of how sweet she is, or anyone who wants a dog that they can watch grow up and show her that the world is a lot less scary than she thinks!

THREE SHOWS running from 6/5/25 to 6/29/25!
“Everyday People” in The Terrarium Gallery
“Russell Christian and Thorsen Kursel in The Alcove Gallery”
“Tim Main” DR Solo Project Space
“Everyday People”, in The Terrarium Gallery, is a group show of self portraits and portraits of other people, friends and family - both real and imagined. The exhibit will feature nearly 80 works by 39 artists hung in salon style, similar to how many people hang family photographs in their home. The exhibition is meant to connect everyday people– both literally and figuratively. Artists include Abha Agrwal, Andrea Geller, Ann Antoshak, Anne Gilley, Bud McNichol, Camilla Fallon, Carol Baker, Evan Casas, Chukwuemeka Korieocha, Daniel Doll, Daniel Guzman, David Hicks, David Ort, Fermin Mendoza, Fern Bass, Gail Vachon, Gary Rubin, Gillian Stewart,
“Tim Maim” DR. Solo Project Space
Jill Kimball, Jim Brown, Katherine Nagel, Laura Lou Levy, Laurel Garcia Colvin, Leslie Kerby, Loura van der Meule, Miriam Jacobs, Naomi Gal, Pam Potenza, Pauline Chernichaw, Pesya Altman, Ricardo Bitran, Sara Kohrt, Seth King, Sunny Chapman, Tafara Magumise, Uday Dhar, Valerio Murri, WeiWei Lo, Vlad Zadneprianski.
In keeping with our love of music, this show is dedicated to Sly and The Family Stone, an American funk band considered to be essential in the development of funk, soul, R&B, rock and psychedelic soul music and whose song, Everyday People, we especially like.
The Alcove Gallery will feature work by Russell Christian and Thorsen Kursel.
Russell Christian lines up his small, playful and colorful shapes placed on an equally colorful background in an orderly system of many horizontal rows. The shapes look like icons or a sort of hieroglyphic language which alludes to a narrative. His work can have references to comic strip form and the paintings of abstract expressionist Adolph Gottleib.
Thorsen Kursel paints in an improvisational manner anchored in gesture and mark making. His process blends a form of Surrealist automatism
with Art Informel, along with a dash of Philip Guston.
DR Solo Project Space will feature Tim Main’s red, green and blue ballpoint ink perspective drawings, which are
both a fresh and nostalgic take on op art. Tim’s vanishing points are real and conventional-- and they construct the illusion of space, and serve as a metaphor of the imaginary. The ballpoint ink colors and the moire imagery are what we see while staring at a TV, similar to TV static noise pattern, which touches our retinas constantly in our screencentric lives. One could place his work in the realm of Bridget Riley’s op art.
All shows were curated by Anne Trauben.
