NEWS FROM THE RIMON ZO NE The History of the Holocaust Torah By: Juliet Morgan and Ori Drajpuch The Holocaust started in 1941 and took place in Europe during World War 2. People with terrible intentions started taking innocent Jews and killing them but they didn’t only do that. They also tried to kill their culture. They destroyed and took over synagogues and killed millions of Jewish families. Our own Albert Einstein who was the first person to have an IQ of 160 had to flee Germany and go to America to be safe. The Holocaust was one of the scariest times in history, all because people didn’t want to live in harmony. They destroyed one of the most beautiful Jewish cities in the world, they took so many Torahs and other Jewish artifacts and hid them in a warehouse. Today is October 3rd and we got to see one of the Torahs from the Holocaust that were locked in the warehouse. Rabbi Rigler came to Team Olim to share the history of Temple Sholom’s new Holocaust Torah.
Helping the Homeless By Sari D. Feinberg Today I am reporting on the Helping the Homeless chug and I am with Elyse. I am seeing them making a mat made out of plastic bags for the homeless. This is their first time making the mats. Alana just figured out how to tie the bags together correctly. Making these mats are done nationwide. When the mat is done it should be 6 feet long. Right now I think they are enjoying. I interviewed one of the students. Kay said he enjoys making the bags. Kay would like to make a difference in the world. One wise word from Alex was “yes”!!
