You should feel secure in buying a cooperative home

Postpone the date of occupation

If you have been unable to complete the sale of your current home and need more time to do so, you may request a postponement of the date of occupation by up to three months.

Waive monthly fees in the event of double occupancy

If, on moving into your new cooperative home, you have still not sold your previous home, you have the right to waived monthly fees for your new home. If you meet the criteria, Riksbyggen will pay your monthly fees for up to 12 months. If you have already been granted a postponement of occupancy, the number of months will be reduced by the corresponding amount. The maximum amount of compensation is SEK 10,000 per month.

...or if you are on sick leave or unemployed

You also have the right to waived monthly fees of up to SEK 10,000 per month if you are on sick leave or unemployed. This also applies for the first 12 months after moving into your new home.

Right to withdraw from the contract

In the event of your death or critical illness, or the death or critical illness of a member of your family, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase up until occupation has taken place.

Extended cover for Riksbyggen Priority members

Riksbyggen Priority members have extended cover under Trygghetslöfte. They are entitled to have monthly fees waived for an additional 12 months, up to a total of 24 months.

Riksbyggen’s Trygghetslöfte always includes:

• Five year warranty on new builds and renovations.

• We continue to manage the property for at least five years.

• We know your building inside and out, so we have good knowledge about cleaning, maintenance and development needs.

• Your association will be financially stable and have clear maintenance schedules.

• Around-the-clock customer service.

• The board of your cooperative housing association will work closely with Riksbyggen. We will provide one board member to contribute expert knowledge and support to the work of the board.

• The buyer will receive personal guidance through the entire purchase process.

• If not all apartments are sold six months after the final inspection and handover, Riksbyggen will buy the unsold apartments and guarantee the association’s income.
