I

grew up on a small farm in Indiana with seven brothers and five sisters, our mother and father did a lot of refereeing with us! There was always work to be done on the farm and in the home. While working on that farm, it gave me many experiences and also taught me principles that I have used throughout my life and career. This is what attracted my wife and me along with our six girls, to Tooele County. Those same life altering experiences and sound principles that I learned and hold so dear still today are taught anywhere you go in this county. I enjoy fishing, hiking, bike riding, and golfing. You know with all the girls in my home, I have to get out once in a while! When I worked in West Jordan, I had a great opportunity to work with the Chamber there and served on the board for a few years. I saw what the Chamber was all about and the impact it can make on the businesses and the community. Back in Indiana, I loved seeing the crops in the fields grow that we worked so hard to prepare and plant, and this has always been true with me, helping things grow and get better, with everyone involved. Please come by the Chamber office and meet me. I always look forward to meeting the wonderful people in this county. I would love to hear your ideas and feelings. We are all in this together and if we “come together there is no limit to what we can accomplish as a team.

All Star Brands Continues to Expand and Invest in Tooele

O

n Nov. 15, 2012, Brad Shepherd— owner and proprietor of All Star Bowling and Entertainment—cut the ribbon inside the company’s newest addition in the Tooele All Star Center. “For the past four months, we have been working on completing our private VIP lanes” stated Mr. Cosper, Director of Operations for All Star Brands. The VIP lanes offer residents in Greater Tooele another option when it comes to finding entertainment venues within the community. The new venue offers a unique more intimate environment for small groups that are interested in watching sporting events while bowling, and experiencing an exceptional menu offered by Chef Kelly. The room is highlighted by two giant, 21+’x12+’ ft. projection screens which will continue All Star’s commitment in offering every major sporting event on screen. The two story high screens cover the entire wall of the center giving the guest a larger-than-life experience while enjoying sporting events, music videos, or corporate sponsored content. The private lanes are complete with state of the art bowling equipment, comfortable couches, and coffee tables, beautiful decor, hard-wood flooring, and private lane service for food and beverage. Wendy Ricci, the General Manager of the All Star Center, plans on hosting everything from a group of friends who want to watch football on the giant screens to corporations interested in team building events or hosting meetings for groups for up to 60 people. When asked why Tooele … Shepherd responded with, “We want to continue to offer more options for the people that live in the community—so they can stay in the community—when choosing family entertainment and dining options.” The VIP Lanes are the latest in a series of investments made over the past four years by the company which has included venues such as laser tag, a new arcade and redemption center, the VIP lanes, and scheduled to open this winter, a unique sports grill and full service restaurant at 1641 N. Main in Tooele. All Star Brands has been completing a full renovation of the building which used to be Tracks. The new restaurant and sports grill will offer something for everyone in the community. We will have a really nice

sports themed club upstairs, which will include a wrap-around deck, and offer full family dining downstairs where customers can enjoy the cuisine of Executive Chef Joe Davis, C.E.C. “Our new restaurant will be a place of food, fun, and entertainment. We are installing a giant video wall which will offer the highest quality picture and sound to watch your favorite sporting event while dining, or enjoying beverages upstairs in the sports club. We are going to keep this place a clean and safe environment for all in the community to enjoy” says Cosper.
