Rho Nu Lambda Chapter Newsletter
As the first quarter of 2025 came to an end in the first year of their administration, President Hutchinson and Vice President Ford gathered the Executive team of Rho Nu Lambda for the first quarterly meeting of the year. This impactful session was designed to strengthen our leadership, refine our roles, and identify ways to better support our chapter and each individual brother. The leadership team remains committed to growing throughout this fraternal year and to the ideals of brotherhood, leadership and service. Our focus is on building a stronger foundation that not only enhances our chapter's impact but also upholds our mission as a school for the better making of men.
The event was further enhanced by the leadership's commitment to supporting when possible, Black-owned minority businesses.
Message from the President:
"Brothers, the first half of this year has been incredibly busy and I'm appreciative of your support and commitment to the shared vision of the chapter. We made significant strides and experienced some wins, but the work is not done! Some of you are about to have a short summer break and I hope that you'll get charged up and will join us for our planning retreat in Shreveport on the weekend of August 15th. There we will continue to refine our strategy and outline our priorities for 2026. We need everyone onboard. I hope that you are as excited as I am about the business of Alpha Phi Alpha and Rho Nu Lambda as we prepare to finish the year strong and finish the year WINNING!
President
Prince Hutchinson
During the recent election season, we were able to witness two newly elected council members get sworn in locally in our service area. Both representatives are present in the community and make themselves available to residents. Congrats Jamell Johnson and Idalia Amaya.
Another shout-out to our fraternity brother, Mayor Curtis Cornelius, who continues to do great work leading the Town of Little Elm. Voting matters!
In May, we had the pleasure of facilitating our National Program, Go-to-High-School-Go-to-College. We were able to tie in another component into the program called, "Next Phase." This component educates young people on options after high school graduation, if college is not an option. The day featured a dynamic panel of experts sharing their perspectives on: life, the importance of education, understanding one's options, entrepreneurship and the reality of living with the choices that these young people make.
Mentees from our Alpha Scholars program and residents from the community joined us for this interactive and informative conversation. We were also delighted to have a new sponsor in Sam's Club who provided drinks and snacks for our guests.

What a great night with the amazing ladies of Delta Sigma Theta! Thank you for allowing Rho Nu Lambda Alphas to be your host for karaoke night. We sang, laughed, danced, ate and enjoyed building relationships with you all.
On May 17th, Brothers supported 95 years of service and unity with the National Pan Hellenic Council of Dallas, Tarrant County, North Dallas Suburbia and Greater Southwest.

Our 06/08 weekend rolled right into another fun-filled day at The Lawn at the Lakefront in Little Elm! From food trucks to vendors, entertainment and games, the vibes were on point all day long. This was truly another PHIRST class occasion! Chapter leadership from Rho Nu Lambda and the North Dallas Ques presented The Remix Center with the proceeds from the Cinco de Mayo event.
This heartwarming occasion was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the unique bond between a girl and her dad. Proceeds from this event will support scholarships and chapter programming, helping us continue to make a positive impact in our communities.
Our chapter president has been on the move, showing unwavering support for organizations and events throughout the region—and this weekend was no exception. One of our days of service we made our way over to Reverchon Park to volunteer for Black Men's Wellness Day. This was a free event open to the community where people received free health screenings, participated in a 5K walk/run and yoga classes and enjoyed food, music, line dancing and games. This was also an opportunity for us to support our TCAC Wellness Initiative established under our District Director, Bro. Adrian Escalante. It was a great collaborative effort for a great cause with other chapters in the area.
March for Babies is a national initiative for our fraternity in partnership with the March of Dimes. Each year we raise funds and awareness for premature births and women maternity health. As advocates for our community it is important we support our families and loved ones. As of June 30, our chapter has raised over $5,900 for this year's campaign. This surpasses our goal of $3,000 by almost double!!!!
On June 28th, brothers took to the streets for the highway cleanup of our sponsored highway on Old Denton Road in Carrollton.

June 2025
The Onward and Upward Empowerment Foundation proudly hosted a powerful and heartfelt scholarship reception where we awarded over $14,000 through the Kenn Manous Scholarship to some truly deserving and inspiring students. Our scholars are headed off to colleges and universities across the country. Each one is carrying big dreams, undeniable drive and the support of a community that believes in them.
Families beamed with pride as parents and guardians shared emotional, funny and unforgettable stories that highlighted the unique journey of each student. We also heard from past recipients who returned to share uplifting testimonials about how the scholarship impacted their journey. This is proof that the seeds we plant today continue to grow.
In a touching moment, we gathered for a prayer of protection and covering over our students as they prepare to step into the next chapter. It was a beautiful reminder that this is more than just a scholarship. It is a movement of encouragement, community and purpose.
