IN PAJAMAS Thanksgiving
By: Rosalia Hernández
This past November 24, at ITX we had such a great experience celebrating Thanksgiving in Pajamas, parents came to Preschool to enjoy a shared lunch with their kids and made a craft or had an activity related to being thankful; during this activity, families could share food, anecdotes, teamwork, and time with their children who, upon seeing their parents arrive, showed great happiness on their faces and proudly worked alongside them.

But beyond the Thanksgiving celebration, besides the tradition, this is a reminder to appreciate all the good in life, this is an opportunity for us to rescue and promote values such as thankfulness, gratitude, and family with our students; our values can show us a path forward, and help us make better choices. Values are also linked to our sense of self and are essential for our mental health. Therefore, in the Tepeyac community, we give special value to all events and activities that strengthen the emotional area as part of the integral development of our students.
Thank you parents for coming and creating a memorable day for our children!

During the first trimester, Kinder 2 students were learning about the human body and how important each part is. Brain, heart, lungs, bones, and skin are the new vocabulary in the Kinder 2 classroom.

Each part has a special and unique function and to take care of them children were learning about having good habits such as exercising, sleeping well, drinking water, and eating a rainbow every day (fruits and vegetables). Poems, songs, crafts, fruits, and many movement activities were part of the project.
This trimester the goal was for the kids to get new experiences in physical activities learning that no matter what you like the most important is to exercise every day.
That’s why we invited 4 great athletes to our classroom to have a fun class and share the importance of exercise and good habits since early childhood.
Yair Hernández Roldan. Dance Instructor
The experience of sharing dance with girls and boys in preschool was exciting since you realize the motor capacity and attention of the students. It was a unique experience, thank you for allowing me to participate in this project.

Rafael Ruiz Barragan. Flag Footba l Coach
It is fantastic to share my experience in the sports environment as well as to transmit flag football to children so that they make a lifestyle based on SPORTS.

I am very grateful to Miss Gaby for inviting me with the Kinder 2 students to talk about how important sport is and especially swimming for them. I could tell that they were paying attention and asking questions. In conclusion, it is very important to talk to children at an early age about this, sometimes we think they are not interested in.

Swimming is part of the safety of each one of us, in addition to bringing us great benefits. People who swim throughout the year tend to be healthier than those who do not, this is because they are constantly active. The fact that at this time the temperature is lower helps to create resistance and improve the body's defenses, helping to protect against diseases throughout the year.
Mindfulness is a great tool to focus on the here and now, it generates benefits in terms of concentration.
Being present makes it easier to recognize and manage emotions, children naturally connect with exploring the world, so with a little bit of guidance through this tool they get great benefits. It was very nice for me to share with them and they immediately connected with the sounds, and with the environment itself so thanks for the opportunity.
