World Football Championship QATAR 2022

Both of us, Alexa Osoyo Forrest and Mia Ferrer Flores are students in the school Instituto Tepeyac Campus Xcaret. We are part of 6th blue. This year, we got to watch a World Cup game, to be more specific, Mexico, our beloved country, against Poland. As you should know, the World Cup is usually hosted in the summer, but since Qatar is so hot, they're hosting it right now in November, that’s why we got to watch it in school for the very first time.

And how was it? you may ask. Well, it was actually very fun, exciting, entertaining, and emotional (in a good way). First of all all the school got to wear Mexico’s team shirts, so everything was in green and white which was nice for a change. Also, we were allowed to bring snacks to share with our friends. Most people brought chips, such as Takis, Cheetos, Doritos, Chips Jalapeño, Totis, and other types of chips mixed in one bag. Some people also brought drinks (coca cola and sprite), and popcorn. The only annoying thing about that is they made a huge mess on the floor, which they did end up having to clean. But it was fun with all the screaming Fifas and overall excitement through the classroom. The Fifas were screaming a lot for Memo Ochoa (the goalie) and Chucky Lozano (forward). By the end of the match everyone had screamed so much cheering for Mexico that our ears were buzzing and we had sore throats! We thought we were the only ones but soon we realized all the other classrooms were also the same! Not only that, junior high and high school students had also caught the world cup fever!

In our opinions, we should do it every year, but we doubt that’s possible because it’s usually in the summer. The only exception was the heat in Qatar. But we both agree that it was a lot of fun. We really hope it happens again because it certainly brings a sense of national pride and brotherhood between countries.
