Presiunea dată de această criză de sănătate este resimțită atât la nivel individual, cât şi la nivel de business, în condițiile în care cuvântul de ordine în acest moment este incertitudinea. Impactul psihologic al pandemiei de SARS-CoV-2 pe piața din România este similar cu ceea ce se întâmplă la nivel internațional şi se manifestă, indiferent de industrie sau sectorul de activitate, pe trei paliere: la nivelul sectorului de activitate, al clienților şi la nivel de mediu de afaceri (macroeconomic).

Datele publicate de cãtre Institutul Naþional de Statisticã pe 13 august aratã cã declinul s-a fãcut simþit în acest sector odatã cu introducerea primelor restricþii, respectiv de la momentul suspendãrii activitãþilor de profil, ca parte a restricþiilor impuse în starea de urgenþã (18 martie 2020). Prin comparaþie cu cifrele anului de referinþã 2015, la care se raporteazã datele comunicate de INS, afacerile din domeniul activitãþilor recreative ºi a jocurilor de noroc au înregistrat o scãdere de aproape 24% încã din martie 2020 (în serii brute, neajustate sezonier). Lunile urmãtoare au consemnat prãbuºirea aproape completã a întregului sector, cu cifre de afaceri de doar 3,2% din nivelul înregistrat în 2015 (în aprilie), respectiv 3% (în mai).
